Baby let me love you down, there's so many ways to love ya ~ Usher

I didn't know what to expect from Victor when I told him I had to leave. I wasn't expecting him to burst out into tears and beg my mom to let me stay. Not even a little. The most shocking reaction I got was actually from his mother herself.

When I say Kendall was devastated, I mean she was devastated. The first thing she did was utterly shut down. Almost as if she was in a dramatic movie she dropped her mail on the counter. Turning on her heels she stared at my mom in disbelief.

You know the five stages of grief: Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance and so and so? Yeah well, she's now in her depression stage. Without sparing us a glance she marched to her room like a two-year-old and slammed her door shut. I for one was speechless, but my mom looked like she expected it.

Cora and Nico were opposed to the idea and sad as well. It was a gloomy night. I spent the rest of my evening worrying about where Victor went. I called him several times, but they all went to voicemail.

Everyone was too sad to notice he wasn't at the dinner table tonight. I bit down on my lip as I waited by the front door in the sitting room. I wrapped the blanket tighter around myself, laying comfortably on the couch. When I thought I was going to fall asleep the door swung open.

Victor quietly shut the door and silently made his way to the stairs. I tip-toed behind him and tapped his shoulder. He froze in his place. Slowly turning his head, his shoulders dropped when he saw me. "You just scared the shit out of me," he breathed his chest heaving up and down.

I pointed to myself stupidly, "me?"

"Yes, you. Why were you up so late?" He scratched the back of his head.

"Why were you out so late?" I countered back, crossing my arms. I didn't sit on that couch for a few hours just so he could be the one to interrogate me.

"I already told you my reason," he said strolling over to the stairs.

"What did you do?" I asked, climbing the stairs behind him.

"Don't worry about it," he plainly said.

I ran in front of him blocking his bedroom door. "Tell me," I demand.

He shook his head, "I can't tell you right now. I need things to go according to plan." He drew closer to me, entrapping me against the door. I walked right into this one.

The corners of his mouth tried to fight a smile as his hand snaked around the back of my neck. He's trying to distract me, and I'm falling right into it. He held my waist with his other hand, and my body couldn't help melting into his touch.

His thumb slipped under my shirt, rubbing circles along my waist. "Victor, tell me," I whined.

Pulling me closer to him, he grabbed my face, smashing his lips on mine. I place my arms around his neck as he spun us around, with him against the door.

With his arm hooked around me, he broke away, leaning his forehead on mine. "Aniya," he whispered tenderly against my lips.

"Hmm?"

"Don't. Worry. About. It." He states clearly to me. He went back inside his room, saying "goodnight" before the door closed.

I huffed and went to my room. Mumbling to myself, "it's freaking morning."

My countdown has officially started I have six days until I have to move. I spent most of my time packing my room and talking to my school about my departure.

Lily, Quinn, and Declan were naturally upset about the whole situation as well. They had wanted to have one more night together before we left so we're at Lily's house, hanging out in her room.

Her mom brought food from Dairy Queen, and we sat on her bed, finishing our desserts. "I can't believe you're moving all because of some crazy psycho," Lily pouted.

"I can't believe it either, wish I had a time machine and made sure I never got in that car."

Declan sat up against the wall, Quinn with her head in his lap. "No cause fuck her," Quinn said, raising a finger in the air to no one. "And then she has the nerve to hide right after. You wanna be bold and kidnap someone, be bold and own up to what you did."

I rolled my eyes; I was over the whole situation. I always got weird looks before at school but at this point, it was the whole town. A BOLO was put out for Jessie and word spread quickly.

I was tired of getting questions and stares of sympathy everywhere I went. Two days have already been shaven off of my time here.

After hours of spending time together, Quinn was the first to leave. She hugged me to savor the memory of me even though I still have time here left.

Lily and I sat at her desk, stalking a few people on Instagram. She showed me the guys hitting her up in her dms. I nearly snorted reading the desperate texts.

Declan rolled his eyes as well, "I don't understand why anyone would beg you to insult them for money. You'd do it for free." Declan said matter of factly.

Lily stuck her middle finger up telling him to fuck off. He stuck his tongue out, "take me to the kitchen, I want a snack." He jumped up.

"You just ate fat ass. But let's go cause I want a snack too. Aniya, you want to come?"

I shook my head, my stomach about to pop just from the ice cream. Maybe my periods coming because I'm bloating more than usual.

They left the room, Lily calling for him to follow. I swiped up on my phone, looking through Instagram myself.

The ringing of a phone caught my attention. It buzzed on Lily's bed. I walked over to discover Declan's phone ringing, an unsaved number calling.

The call ended and a few messages pinged. My eyebrows scrunched as I read the messages flowing down the screen.

I stood back, a sickening feeling in my stomach starting to brew. I began to feel lightheaded as my thoughts went back to that day.

I was leaving his house when I left, she waited in my car for me to come out. She knew where I was going to be at that specific time and day. Declan was the one who insisted we meet at his house.

My chest tightened as I rushed to my phone and texted Victor to pick me up. I sat back in my seat when I heard Lily and Declan returning to the room.

"Is your brother here to pick you up yet? You're gonna eat my whole house out." Lily snorted as they passed the door.

"I don't know, let me check," he sighed walking towards his phone. His eyes skimmed over the messages a scowl forming on his face.

"Well?" She said, plopping down beside me again.

He scratched the back of his neck, "uh yeah actually he's waiting outside. I have to go. Bye girls." He said, running out of the room.

My phone buzzed in my hand. Victors caller I'd lighting my screen. "Hello."

"I'm here." He said, hanging up after.

"My ride is here too, I'll talk to you later okay." I pulled Lily in a hug,.

"Jesus, you're shaking Niya. You okay?"

I nodded my head, "yeah, just cold."

I made my way downstairs and slipped out the door. Victor stood against the car, his eyes lighting up when I came out of the house.

I stopped in my tracks as a girl jogging down the street stopped in front of him. Her dark hair was tied up in a long ponytail. She pulled an earbud out of her ear, smiling at him. "I've never seen you in this neighborhood. I'm Michelle."

Victor looked at her nonchalantly. Her body flinched when he looked down at her with cold eyes. "I don't live here," he shrugged.

She continues talking, dodging the hints Vic threw at her to leave him alone. He crossed his arms his eyes rolling back over to me. He jerked his head towards the car, mouthing "come on."

The girl scrunched her nose and turned around. Her eyebrows creased as she took a good look at me. "Do you know her?"

I walked over to his side, his arm naturally circling my waist. He pressed his lips on the side of my head, "Yup, goodbye."

Michelle's mouth dropped open. He got in the driver's seat and started the car back up. "I'm sorry are you guys dating?"

I looked back at Victor who stared at his phone from the comfort of his car. "Yup, proud to say he is my boyfriend," I rocked on my feet awkwardly.

"Wow, you hit the lottery with this one," she said staring at him as well.

I shifted my body in front of the window to block her view of him. "All mine," I fake smiled.

Her eyes snapped at me, her features softening. "Oh, well, you guys have a nice day." She beamed, placing her earbuds back in.

"Bye," I called after her. My smile dropped as soon as her back was to me. I walked to the other side and got in, crossing my arms.

"Why'd you text me to pick you up so early? You were supposed to stay for a couple more hours."

I bit down on my lip, recalling how I texted him in a hurry. "Got homesick."

He paused, looking at me strangely. "Since when do you get homesick?" He scoffed.

I shrugged my shoulders, "since now. What were you doing before you came here?" I asked.

His jaw ticked, leaning over he turned the radio on and lowered the volume. I raised an eyebrow, waiting for a response. "Nothing much."

His eyes flickered down to my lap. "Seatbelt," he blew out a breath of air.

"What?"

Sighing he reached over and grabbed the belt, fastening it into its buckle. A faint click follows, "oh."

He put the car in drive and sped down the street, I looked out the window, for the remainder of the ride back home. We stopped in the driveway, none of us getting out of the car.

"Are you going to tell me why you're acting so weird?" Victor raised an eyebrow.

"Are you going to tell me your plans?"

He bit on the inside of his cheek, falling back in his seat. Yeah, that's what I thought.

"It's alright you don't have to tell me. I'll find out for myself since you have an attitude all of a sudden," he stared at me intriguingly.

I kept my arms crossed, turning my head to the door. What attitude? I feel great! He's imagining things.

"Was it something that has to do with me?" He asked.

I kept my back turned to him.

"Or was it something someone else did?" I couldn't help it my eyes jumped over to him quickly. I straightened my posture, clearing my throat.

I contemplated in my head whether I should tell Victor about Declan. He was trying to fix what was going on but the problem was I didn't know exactly what.

"Was it Lily?"

"Declan?"

"Michelle?"

I rolled my eyes at the sound of her name. "You remembered her name?"

The corner of his lips flickered up. "So it's Michelle."

"Whatever," I placed my hand on the door handle. The doors of the car locked. I unlocked it, but the door locked again right after.

"Unlock the car," I demanded.

"Come here," his eyes flashed with amusement.

"I said open the door Victor, I'm not going to ask again," I pulled on the handle.

"And I'm not going to say it again. Come. Here."

I narrowed my eyes at him, pulling on the handle again. I heard him sigh before the belt of my seat slid up and hands gripped my arm and waist.

Pulling me over the console, I landed on Victor, straddling his lap. I crossed my arms and turned my head.

"Look at me, Aniya," he said, his voice sounding a little agitated.

"Baby, please?" He hooked his finger under my chin, making me look at him. "When I tell you her voice was like a cat's nails scraping on a chalkboard," he lowered his voice. I couldn't help but giggle, which brought a grin to his face.

He leaned in closer, "all I was thinking of you was your sweet voice in my ear the other night, whimpering my name."

My lips parted, making me almost forget I was supposed to be mad at him. He settled back in his seat, still gripping my hips.

"I hate you," I grumbled.

He raised his eyebrows dauntingly, "you know you love me."

Huh, love him... do I?
