Okay, away we go
Only thing we have on is the radio, oh

Let it play, say you gotta leave
But I know you wanna stay ~ Rihanna

"Why are you still up," I mumbled. His fingers ran up and down the leg draped over his torso. His mind was racing a million miles per hour.

I popped an eye open, he looked up, lost in his own head. "Victor," I whispered.

"Yeah?" his gruff voice says.

"What are you thinking about?" The clock across the bed read five in the morning. I rolled my eyes it being only one hour till we have to get up.

He blew out a breath, "everything and anything."

I nodded. "You should get some sleep, we get up in an hour." I nudged him. I would dive deeper into his ocean of thought but at the moment he looks exhausted.

He turned his head, "not tired." The bags under his eyes telling me otherwise. I wonder what goes on in that genius's mind, honestly. I can't imagine myself breezing through school like he does. As for his life problems it's not so simple, one thing I don't envy.

He poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue, his eyes flickering from one side to the other. I cocked my head, studying him momentarily.

"What do you think happened to his face?"

"I heard he got in a bar fight last night?"

"A bar fight? Nah not his scene. Plus when has anyone ever seen him fight?"

"Maybe his girlfriend is a little on the coo-koo side."

"You think she did that? She did seem kind of obsessed with him freshman year... I wouldn't doubt the theory."

I slammed my locker door shut, the same two kids from my art class jumped. They turned to me, faces ghostly pale. I raised an eyebrow, "you think I did that?"

The girl with short dark hair hit the guy on his chest. "You idiot, you talk too loud."

He scowled, pushing his glasses up, "don't blame me, you were the one agreeing with me. You're just as guilty."

"Yeah well your mouth could replace a microphone being how loud it is."

"Says the girl who's recording of their moaning to Ryan Strokes got out. I think it's safe for all of us to say your voice over powers mine in that category," he crossed his arms.

She gasped, her face turning red, "you little-"

"Hey!" I barked, interrupting the two. "Argue on you own time and stop gossiping about Victor and I. Or at least check to see if your subject is in hearing range first," I scoffed.

"Dummies," I muttered walking away. "Oh," I turned back, "and no I didn't hurt Victor, I'm not a bitch." With that I strode away, leaving the two sophomores to soak in their own embarrassment.

"Ow," I rubbed my head. Jessie stood in front of me, an scowl on her face. What the hell is her forehead made of, metal?

"Is it true?" She asked. My eyebrows creased inwards, her usual calm eyes had a dull fire set ablaze.

"What?"

"I said is it true, did you hurt Victor," she gritted her teeth.

Oh my god, this again. "Of course not, why would I hurt my own boyfriend?" I snapped.

She visibly flinched at the word "boyfriend." I tilted my head to the side, something was off about her. I backed away, preparing to turn when she grabbed my arm.

"Let go of me," I said, her grip hard enough to leave a bruise. I shook her hand off, she bit her bottom lip, appearing as if she wanted to say more.

Dropping her arm she stomped off in the opposite direction. I didn't have much time to think about the encounter as the bell rang. I cursed, my class was on the other side of the school.

"So she just grabbed your arm out of nowhere?" Quinn raised an eyebrow. "I swear there's something with that girl that makes me wanna squirm."

"Almost anything makes you squirm, Quinn," Lilly's muffled voice said. Her head was on the table, over her arms.

I poked her side, she squirmed like her body was made of jello. "I could say the same for you." I giggled.

"No but really what is her deal? She's been bothering you about him for the longest. She should move on and finally let it go."

Declan sighed, "I don't know much about her but she does seem weird. I would avoid her at all costs." He placed a domino on board.

I stretched my arms, cracking my back. They are right, the way she was acting today actually put a little fear in my consciousness. Not only for my safety but for Victor's.

My legs stilled when I felt a bare foot rub up against my leg. I looked under the table, spotting a freshly pedicured foot. I know because we got the same color nails the other day. White.

"Quinn, why are you rubbing my legs with your foot? I didn't know you were into playing footsies."

She choked on her lemonade, withdrawing her foot. "What, I'm sorry I didn't notice," the tips of her ears turned red.

"I-I gotta use the bathroom," she got up and ran up the stairs. The corner of my mouth frowned, wasn't there a bathroom on this floor?

"I think I left something in my room," Declan gestured upstairs. Lily and I exchanged looks as he excused himself from the table.

"How much you wanna bet they're making out in Declan's room." Lily said, leaning back in her chair.

I blew a puff of air out," come on you know I don't bet on people. But ten dollars."

A devilish smirk rose on her lips, "only one way to find out." She got up from her chair leaving me to scramble from mines.

"Wait, I didn't think you meant we were gonna catch them now."

Lily hiked up the stairs, "I'm gonna win that bet!"
When she reached Declan's room on the far right she pressed her ear up against it.

"What are you doing?" Annabelle, his sister appeared from thin air. I held my chest as I looked down at the younger girl. Jesus, I didn't even hear her door open.

Lily shushed her as she smushed her head to the door more. "I hear shuffling," she whispered. Grabbing the knob she twisted the door open, Annabelle and I both rushed in after her.

The couple sat there in shock. Declan's hands grazed Quinn's hips. Quinn had a hand on the back of his neck up into his hair. Some gloss was smudged on Declan's dark lips.

"Ew," Annabelle said.

"Yes, I win!" Lily shouted. "You dirty little sluts, sneaking around us. We're you gonna have sex while we waited downstairs?"

Quinn's face turned into a bright red tomato and Declan covered his face with his handS. Lily enjoys other misery way too much. This was getting painful to watch.

"Alright Lily you won your bet now let's leave them alone," I said, shoving her out the room. She wiggled her eyebrows at the two.

Annabelle stood by the door, still in a state of shock. "I'm gonna go wash my eyeballs out."

Later on the two did their walk of shame down the stairs. They ended up spilling what we already knew and we settled on a movie. By the time it was nine I was ready to go home.

"Bye Declan," I hugged him goodbye. No longer does he sniff my hair and hold on just a little bit longer. It was a good change. I smiled, waving my hand and headed to my car.

He watched me walk to the car and get inside. I started the engine and drove past the now closed door. I hummed to myself, reaching an intersection I turned the radio on. "Stronger," by Kelly Clarkson began playing.

A shuffle in the back made me freeze, my hands gripping the wheel tighter than normally. Slowly I turned my head, hoping it was just from a shift in the car. I saw a clean seat with only my book bag on it.

I sighed, turning back to the lights. Another shuffle was heard, I cussed, starting to get a little nervous. I inched my head to the floor of the car, maybe something fell.

My eyes made contact with a solid green one, a screech leaving my lips. Something hard and heavy hit the side of my head. The other side banged against the window, a form of darkness soon surrounding me.

Fuck.
