All I care about is money and the city that I'm from, I'ma sip until I feel it, I'ma smoke it 'til it's done ~ Drake

"Here's the plant you gave me. I forgot to give it back yesterday. Hope I didn't ruin your project," I sat down beside Nathan.

It was Friday and I was ready to leave school as the work was beginning to get harder. Nothing but college talk has been shoved down my throat multiple times and I need a break. Maybe the party tonight will even me out.

"No, you're fine, it's not due for another week." He said, swiping the plant to his side.

"So what was the purpose of giving me the plant?" I asked. I spent a good 24 hours and then some taking care of it, I deserve to know.

"It's just a small experiment to reflect how nature is treated. I gave a plant to four other random people and they all came back different. It's so easy to trash the environment we live in." He shook his head.

Wow, he and Quinn must be best buds in their class. "That's pretty cool," I smiled, turning in my seat.

I was halfway finished with my assignment when loud blares sounded throughout the school. I groaned and stood up, following everyone to the door.

If this was a real fire we would all die because most of the kids were walking extremely slow. We stood outside in the scorching sun with thousands of other people.

I shielded my eyes from the sun with my hand. A nudge to my shoulder pulled my attention to a cap held out by Nathan. "You can use this," he offered.

I gladly took it plopping it on my head, "thank you." I beamed. I felt an eerily shiver run down my spine. I froze in my spot as I met with chillingly grey eyes.

Although he doesn't express much I could see the glower on his face. I raised an eyebrow, my heart spiked weirdly.

The teachers then informed us to head back inside and I lost sight of him as a sea of teens blocked my vision of him. I walked back inside and continued my assignments.

Soon the day was over and I was heading inside from the garage. A slam of the car door was heard behind me and I saw Victor walk towards the door.

"You don't have to wear a hat inside," he said in passing. My eyebrows furrowed, hat? My hand went to my head and I then realized I still had the cap Nathan gave me. Damn, that's another thing I'm going to have to return.

I snatched the hat off and continued walking inside. My mom stood in the kitchen, playing around with some dough on a floured counter.

"Hey mom," I kissed her on the cheek. "Whatcha making?" She rolled the dough around into a ball and kneaded it with her knuckles.

"Just some homemade bread to go with dinner tonight."

I nodded and grabbed a popsicle out the freezer, instantly regretting sinking my teeth in the cold ice. I slapped a hand to my mouth as my sensitive teeth cringed.

I stayed downstairs and watched my mom cook. I would have helped but then everyone's appetite would have been gone. After dinner, Lily and Quinn were over to get ready.

We did each other's makeup and put on our clothes. I sat on my bed, and tied the straps of my shoes. I doused myself in perfume and popped some gum in my mouth, ready to go.

"Alright ladies, let's go." I gestured to the door, an excited Lily giggled as she left the room. She almost slipped down the stairs, falling back onto me to drag me with her.

"Girl, did you have a drink already? Why are you so uncoordinated?" I held her shoulders and pushed her in the backseat of the car. "Address?" I asked, from the front seat.

"182 West Brooke st," she spilled out the location.

An eyebrow rose on my face, "that's two hours away from here. Where does your girlfriend live?"

"What, she's a college student," she shrugged.

"She's a WHAT," Quinn turned around in her seat. "You mean to tell me we're going to a college party?"

"Precisely," Lily nodded her head.

Quinn looked at me wearily but I just shrugged my shoulders, starting the engine. We picked up Declan because who could forget him and two hours later we were in front of a frat house.

Well, here's to my first college party.

The minute we stepped inside we were hit with the strong smell of alcohol. People hung out at any part of the trashed house and loud music blared.

Regina immediately spotted Lily and rushed over to her with open arms. "I'm so excited you could make it," she gushed.

Lily smirked, "of course, I wouldn't miss a good party for nothing."

Reigna giggled, pulling her arm to the bar. Lily grabbed onto Quinn's arm and she grabbed onto mine. Declan took a hold of my hand and we pushed through the sea of people.

"Cali, this is Lily and her friends," Regina shouted over the noise to a short brunette. "This is my roommate."

Her twists swayed effortlessly as she turned her head. "Oh wow, hi! I've been waiting to meet you," she turned to Lily. "Regina would not shut up about you."

Lily blushed, hiding her grin, "you're lying," she laughed. Regina hit Cali on the shoulder to get her to shut up.

"She has to be, what's there to talk about," Declan chuckled.

Lily sent him a glare that shut him up. Quinn giggled to herself as Declan looked away. "I'm going to play beer pong," he nodded his head to the far corner. Cheers exploded as the small white ball landed in a cup.

"I'll go with you," Quinn said, taking his hand.

Declan looked down at their conjoined hands and  brought it up to his chest, "alright let's go," he said leading her away from us.

I turned around to find myself alone, I blew out a breath and crossed my arms. Well this wasn't what I expected. I grabbed my own cup of a special mixture and took myself to a separate room.

My lungs immediately clogged with smoke and a cough brewed from my throat.

"Chill out mamas, it's weed. It won't kill you," he passed me a blunt.

I looked at it skeptically, I remember what DARE said about drugs. That story of that basketball player dying after one lick of cocaine traumatized 5th grade me.

Eh, you only live once. I shrugged my shoulders and plopped down on the couch beside him. I nodded to where the blunts were being rolled, "roll me a new one."

I watched the girl roll it and was handed the stick a second later. I took a puff and tried my best to not cough the second I breathed it in. "I thought I was supposed to feel the effects," I looked back at it with a frown.

"Give it some time," the dude beside me said. His eyes were bloodshot red and hooded into a sleepy look. "Chicken nugget soup is good yo," he spit.

I chuckled and continued to smoke. Just like he said an hour later I was sitting on the walls. My body was out of my body. An ant crawled past me. I squished it with my finger.

"Yo, that's my eye dawg," the dude beside me yelped.

I covered my hands over my mouth, "shit, shit, shit." I looked down at the aquatic ocean, "how do I get out of here, I'm scared." I held onto his arm.

"There's no way out dawg," he sighed.

"What do you mean, there's always a way out. At least that's what Olivia said."

"Who's Olivia?"

"What?" I snapped from my induced haze.

"I said who's Olivia dawg," he repeated.

My head drooped to his shoulder. "I don't know, my mom maybe."

"WORLDSTAR," someone yelled. Two dudes fell on the floor in the center of the room. Punches flying everywhere, I shielded my eyes from the monstrosity.

"Make them stop," I nudged the guy.

"I'm not messing up this pretty face for that," he scoffed, covering his eyes with his arm. "You make them stop, my brain hurts."

"Fine I will," I stood up and wobbly walked over to the two. I think the floor turned to jello. I put my hands to my hips and stood over the two guys. "Stop," I commanded.

They continued fighting.

"I said stop," I stupidly stooped down to their level. A screech left my lips as a right hook matched my eye. A series of oohs let out in the room. I fell to the ground with my eye throbbing.

"Shit, lil girl. I wasn't being for real," he hooked his hands under my arms and pulled me back to the couch.

A laugh bubbled up from within me, I rolled over on the couch. "My eye hurts," I whimpered. My eyes felt heavy.

"Aye. Do. Not. Go to sleep, I ain't nobody's babysitter," he kissed his teeth.

"Aw fuck."

"Victor," I sleepily called.

"Victor," I raised my voice.

"Vicky, Vic, VICTOR!" I yelled.

"What," an irritated voice responded.

My eyes peeled open and a green replica of him stood in front of me. "You're here!"

He helped me to my feet, which went weak, causing me to lean into his side. I clutched onto his jacket tightly. My face was smushed against his chest, "my eye hurts."

He pulled me back and grabbed my face, inspecting the left side of my face. A scowl rose on his lips, "who the fuck did this to you?"

I shook my head sleepily, "did what," I rasped.

He looked over to my new best friend who just shrugged his shoulders. "She walked into a fight she had no business in. I tried to tell her."

"Ok that's it, I'm taking you home Aniya. You're completely out of it."

"No," I whined. "I want to stay with my friend Earl," I shook my head.

"My names Teddy, Ted for short." He jumped in.

"Yeah I wanna stay with him," I gestured to the old couch.

Victor ran a hand through his hair, and pinched the bridge of his nose, counting down from ten. "No, we're leaving." He grabbed my hand and dragged me out the room. I pouted and waved frantically to Earl.

I held my arms out as the cool gentle breeze blew past me. "Aniya, get in the car," Victor grumbled.

"I don't want to."

My arms snapped to my side as I felt creepy crawly fingers at my sides. A laugh escaped me and I was pushed into the car. The door was slammed shut and Victor walked to the other side.

I relaxed against the car's seat. I felt my seatbelt being pulled and locked into that seatbelt hole thing. I can't remember it's name correctly.

"My god, you reek of weed. How am I supposed to get you inside when your scent lingers every time you move."

I shrugged, my head falling to my shoulder. "Take me back to the party."

"No."

"Meanie."

When we got to the house I didn't waste any time getting out of the car. I ran to the door in my heels and knocked on the door rapidly.

Victor chased after me and pulled my hands from the door and kept them prisoner in one hand. He held me to his chest, away from the door while he unlocked it. I bathed in his body heat and felt cold when he finally pulled away.

I ran up the stairs once the door was open and once again Victor was chasing me. I giggled and began to run faster, I gasped as I fell to the floor of our hallway.

Victor helped me up, shaking his head. "It hurts," I grunted, a lump beginning to form in my throat.

He guided me towards his door and twisted the doorknob, "I know baby, I know."

He sat me at his desk chair and examined where I was punched. The dark ring around my eyes throbbed less. He cringed when got a good look under good light.

"You have got to be more careful than this," he rose to his feet and walked out of the room. I spun in his chair, making myself dizzy. A confused pit in my stomach made me want to vomit.

He came back in with a wrapped ice pack and applied it to my eye. I leaned into the cool touch. When he felt the ice had done its job enough, he put it to the side and tossed me a shirt. "Are you well enough to shower?"

I shook my head confidently. He squinted his eyes, but passed me a towel and rag. "Take a shower in there," he pointed to his own bathroom. "I'll be right outside incase you slip or do something stupid...again."

I shut the door behind me and stripped my clothes off. The water went hot and cold as I played with the handles. I washed myself accordingly and stepped out with the towel wrapped around me.

I slipped on the boxers and picked up the huge shirt in my hands. My arms searched through different holes but I just couldn't find the right one for my head. They were all too small. Is my forehead that big?

"Victor," I whined from my side of the door.

"What," he answered.

"I need help putting my shirt on. I think my heads too big."

I heard footsteps approaching the other side. "Just put your arms through the little holes."

"They're all little," I raised my voice in frustration. This barrier wasn't helping me. I swung open the door and held the shirt out in front of me.

Victor stood on the opposite end, both hands on either side of the door frame. His mouth dropped as he looked down.

My eyebrows furrowed at the weird expression on his face. It was like he was struck with some newfound light.

My eyes followed his and stopped at my own chest. I feel like there's something wrong with this picture. Like something's missing.

"Oh my," I gasped, covering myself with the shirt.

Sorry for taking so long to update :(
