"Sophia."

I turn my head slightly to see Carter making his way over to me in the garden just as the little kids run past me kicking a green coloured football.

"Hey."

"Hi." I breathe out.

"How are you feeling?" He questions staring at my face. I smile up at him, "much better."

That's when I see it.

A man.

Holding a gun.

Directly at me.

He was dressed in all black with his face covered. Within 2 seconds, before I even had the chance to move out of the way, I felt it, the puncture of a bullet.

My stomach felt like it was on fire but numb at the same time. My ears were ringing as I felt myself drop-down, screams and yells around me were faded out. The man was quick to disappear.

My vision began to blur out.  All I could think about at that moment was ivy and what would happen to her if I didn't live.

"Keep your eyes open love, the ambulance is on there way." Carter kept saying to me. My body laying on the ground as he applied pressure to the wound. But I couldn't feel anything.

I coughed loudly. "I-Ivy." I breathed. "S-s-sh-e is-" I could complete my sentence. My breathing went slower and slower, I could feel myself drifting away. The only word I could mutter out before complete-drowsiness overtook me was "daughter."

Carters POV:

I sat for hours in those chairs waiting for any news on her. Any news.

Daughter.

That word kept replaying in my mind constantly over and over again. I was sick of seeing these plain hospital walls. Doctors and nurses walk past me, back and fourth as I wait outside.

I finally stood up and toon ivy form my mothers arms. I didn't know if she was gonna make it or not so I told my mother to bring ivy, just in case she doesn't make it, she can say her goodbyes.

My heart cracked at the thought of her not making it.

"I-Ivy." She breathed. "S-s-sh-e is-"

Daughter.

I walked over to a nurse who was stood writing on a clip board. "Excuse me." I said, the nurse looked up with a friendly smile.

"I was wondering whether I could get a paternity test done." I said as she looked at me confused. "My girlfriend was injured so she's in surgery. But she said something about a daughter. So I was wanting a paternity test."

"We don't usually do them without doctors signing us off, but come with me." She said and turned around. I followed behind her into a room with ivy.

Around about 15 minutes later I walk out. "I don't know how long it'll take for me to get the results, but I'll try to be quick." She said.

I nodded saying tha my life before walking off to my family. About half an hour later I handed ivy to my mother as the doctor walked out quickly. "Hey, is everything okay? Is she going to be fine?"

"We've got some bad news and good news." He says before continuing. "The good news is, we managed to get the bullet out."

"And the bad news?" I gulped.

"She's in a coma."

That's when the nurse came running up to me out of breathe.

"I have some good news." She smiled. "Ivy Williams is indeed your daughter."

I took a really really really long break I know. I just needed it. But anyway, if you can't already tell the book is coming to an end so I do apologise but at least carter now knows the truth.

What would you like to happen to Sophia? Shall she wake up and they live happily ever after? Orrrrrrrr shall Sophia stay in a coma forever orrrrrrrrr shall she die?

You guys can decide and I'll make my choice on the most votes.

Love you all❤️
