Alexander's POV:

I've never seen Lexi this furious in my whole life. And I've know her since I was born.

I could tell she was having a hard time not punching the man in front of us in the face.

She tried to mask her fury with a calm and collected look, but she was not doing a good job at it.

A person with one eye could see her raging with fury.

But I guess Philip is one of the most dumbest person ever because he was completely oblivious to her raging form and was smiling at us.

Damn. Do all these people smile all the time? To add it to the plate, the camera guy - forgot his name - was standing right behind a bush.

Close enough to get a good shot of us.

He thinks he was not seen behind it but he was. Though we didn't make any indication that we saw him.

"Hi. I'm-" Philip started but Lexi cut him off.

"The man who ruined our mother's life. We know." She said.

Mom said not to make any rude comments. She didn't listen and I didn't stop her because that was exactly what he did.

He ruined our mother's life.

Philip looked down on at his shoes for a second and looked back at us again.

"I know what I did to your mother was wrong and I deeply regret it."

Oh wow. He deeply regrets it. Guess he doesn't loves us.

His tone gave away that he had been practicing a speech to tell us when we come.

And since he came out of the pool house it leads me to believe he was there the whole time.

From how Lexi was glaring at him, I knew she noticed it too.

She opened her mouth to speak but I grabbed her arm to stop her from doing so. Knowing exactly what she was going to say.

When she looked at me I gave her a look that said, 'Shut up'.

I looked back at Philip and asked, "If you so deeply regret it then you must have known about how she almost killed the two of us?"

His eyes widen a little. So he didn't know it.

"That's true. Our mother almost killed us after we were born. Sure she was happy but as we grew older, we reminded her of you and she so badly wanted to kill us because of it." I explained.

Our mom apologized about a million times after Mike talked some sense into her.

"We saw our mom get drunk and high almost our whole childhood. Because you weren't there when she needed a man in her life." Lexi said.

If it weren't for Mike, who stood by her side, even if his wife was jealous, she would have given us to an orphanage by now.

"I know that I wasn't there for you and your mom. But you have to believe that I'm truly sorry for it. I want to get to know you, to be there for you even if I was not there at first. Please, forgive me." Philip pleaded.

That same rehearsed speech.

"How much have you rehearsed to say that to us?" I asked.

Lexi looked at me as if asking, 'You get to ask that and not me?'

She looked back shaking her head after she saw my smirk.

Man, I love my twin.

"I didn't rehearse anything." Philip said catching our attention.

I scoffed. "Sure you didn't. Remember, our mom has a former FBI agent as her best friend. So of course he taught us a couple things." I said crossing my arms across my chest.

"He trained you?" Philip asked.

"Yeah. He did. Something that obviously you-" I cut Lex off before she finished her sentence.

"Yes, he did. Our mom told him to." I said and sent a glare in Lexi's way. She glared back and I looked away.

Dammit! I always lose this contest.

From the corner of my eye I saw a hint of a smirk on the corner of her lips.

We heard Philip sigh. "Since you both can read someone's facial expression clearly, I think you could tell that I was being honest?" He asked.

"You wouldn't have rehearsed a speech of you were honest." Lexi said.

"Yes I did rehearse a speech. But you've got to believe that I really do want to get to know you. I want you to live here with me even if it's just for a little bit. I want you to give me a chance." He said.

"What did you tell your family? About us and our mom?" I asked.

"I told them the truth."

"And they forgave you in a day?" Lexi asked.

"No, actually. Your mother contacted me about a month ago and told me about her sickness and that I should take you in during the time she gets her treatment."

Mom told him before she told us? Good times.

"Your wife, she forgave you for getting another woman pregnant? If it was our mom instead of her, she would have punched you in the face." Lexi said.

"I already got that." Philip said rubbing his hand over his jaw.

"And you would get one from me too." Lexi said.

"You want to punch me?"

"If you say the wrong thing in front of her, she won't hesitate to. And I won't be able to hold her back." I said.

Only then did he take notice of her raging form.

"Were you like that during the whole conversation?" He asked her.

She smirked. "One wrong word and you would've been clutching a bleeding nose which would have probably been broken beyond repair."

"You would hit your own father?" Wrong mistake.

She advanced forward and on instinct, Philip took a step back.

Thankfully, I reached out in time to hold her back.

"The camera, Lexi. There is a camera. Don't forget that." I whispered low enough for only her to hear.

She sighed. "Alex.... Let go."

I obliged and let her go but stood close enough just in case.

The sliding doors where we came from opened to reveal Lindsey, Harris' fiance.

"Dinner's ready. Sophie is calling everyone inside." She said and walked back in leaving the door open.

"Lets go and have dinner." Philip said and began to walk.

Lexi and I shared a look before following him.

An awkward dinner, with smiles passed around later, we were back in the car with Mike.

"How did it go?" He asked as we settled in the back.

"Awkward..." Lexi started.

"Annoying..." I continued.

"Ridiculous..."

"And uncomfortable."

"That's how it went." Lexi finished.

"That bad huh?" Mike asked looking at us from the rearview mirror.

We nodded in agreement.

"Did you both decide if you want to stay here or not? Not that you have a choice but it's nice to have your opinion on it."

"No." We both said at the same time.

"Well, you don't have a say in the matter." Mike said.

"We know. Why would mom do this at all?" I asked.

Mike shrugged. "Maybe, she wants you to have good relationship with your father before she.... You know."

"She won't die! She can't die! We still need her. I'm not ready to lose her." Lexi said in a panicked voice.

"While you were at your father's, the doctor was checking her. She said it's not looking good."

"What do you mean? It hasn't spread that much has it?" I asked.

Mike was silent.

"Mike!"

Still nothing.

Then it sunk in.

"How long had she had it for?" I asked.

Mike was thinking over it for a minute before he said, "About two years."

"TWO YEARS!?! But she said that she had found out three months ago!" Lexi said.

"She found out three months ago. But the cancer was there for two years at least."

Silence settled in the car. All of us were in our thoughts for the rest of the car ride to the hospital.
