Alexis' POV:

A couple hours after getting off the phone with Alex, I packed my bag and snuck out the door of the room I was in.

I carefully checked all my surroundings before taking the stairs. I crept down the stairs making sure not to make a sound as to not wake anyone up.

I reached the meeting room and went inside in search of the microphone.

I opened drawer after drawer looking for it and found it in the middle drawer. I picked it up and shoved it in my bag.

I opened another drawer to take out a gun and made sure to it was filled with tranquilizer darts and not bullets because I really don't want blood on my hands.

After taking two clips filled with the darts, I loaded one inside the gun and kept the other in my pocket.

I tucked the gun in my jeans. I also made sure to take a silencer with me.

Then I went to the front door. I stepped outside of the warehouse and almost immediately went behind a bush after I saw Julia outside, smoking.

But she had ears like a hawk. The shuffling sound alerted her. She dropped the cigarette in her mouth and stepped on it.

Looking around she asked, "Who's there?"

I stayed hidden in my position and didn't make a sound.

She asked again and I remained still.

She then went inside and shut the door behind her. Once I was sure the coast was clear I got out from behind the bush and dusted myself off.

I was almost out the gate when I heard, "I knew you were a traitor."

I halted in my steps.

I heard her chuckle behind me. "Did you really think you could do this and I wouldn't notice? I knew it was you who installed the microphone under the table." She said.

I turned around to face her and crossed my arms over my chest.

"So? What are you gonna do now? Tell everyone?" I asked.

What I didn't expect, was for her to actually do it.

"Of course I'll tell everyone. Scott! Collin! Ryder! Get over here! You have to see this!" She yelled inside.

A minute later I heard footsteps coming down the stairs.

Thinking quickly, I dropped my bag on the ground and pretended to fall down. And even put dirt on my hands and face for effect.

Julia was confused by my actions and asked, "What are you doing?"

Just then Scott came out of the warehouse.

"Julia, what is it?" He asked her annoyed then looked at me on the ground with dirt on my hands and face.

"What's going on?" He asked.

Before Julia could say anything I cut in, "Julia came to my room and threw all my things in my bag then kicked me out." I said standing up and pretending to dust my hands off.

"What? No that didn't happen." Julia defended.

"Yes it did. She told me to leave and that I was a burden in here. That I shouldn't be here." I continued.

At this, Scott turned to Julia with a hard glare on his face.

"I told you, even if you have a problem with her, she stays here. Did you not get that?" He asked her.

"Scott she's lying. I didn't-" She tried to say but Scott cut her off.

"Enough!" He yelled. "You know damn well how important she is to us. Even then you decide to kick her out?"

Julia said something in her defense but I tuned out their argument and focused on getting away.

I pick up my bag and took one step back then another.... Then made a run for it, not caring if they'll hear me.

I was outside the gate when I heard them coming behind me.

"Alexis stop!" Scott yelled at me.

I didn't stop. Instead, I ran faster.

I ran a few more miles then suddenly heard a gunshot and felt a sharp pain on my shoulder.

I screamed out and fell down on the ground holding my shoulder. I couldn't focus on it right now because I could hear them getting closer and closer.

So, I ignored the pain and stood up then started to run away again. But I was too slow and they were about to catch up with me.

Then I remembered the gun in my jeans pressing against my back. Thinking of nothing else, I pulled it out, turned and stopped.

I attached the silencer to it. I held it in my hand and waited for their figures to show up. As soon as I saw them, without thinking twice, I pulled the trigger. Then another.

The darts hit them and they let out groans before they fell down on the ground, motionless.

I turned back around and ran to the park they picked me up at, ignoring the pain in my shoulder. Once I reached there, I slumped against the side of a bench and fished out my phone.

I texted Alex to come and get me there.

While I was waiting for him to come, I tried to stop the bleeding on my shoulder by putting some pressure on it.

Minutes later, I heard him call my name.

"Lexi?"

I sighed with relief and called his name back.

"Alex."

I could feel my eyes beginning to close. I was about to pass out.

"Lexi where are you?" He asked.

"I'm... Here." I whispered out as I fought to stay awake.

I was so focused on staying awake when I hear someone calling me. I looked up to see Alex looking at me with worry etched on his face.

Seeing him made me smile.

"Alex." I breathed and threw my arms around him. He hugged me back just as tightly. But he pulled away after he heard me groan from the pain in my shoulder.

"Lexi, what is it? Are you okay?" He asked.

"My shoulder." I said.

He immediately checked to see the blood that gathered in my shirt. He pulled the sleeve down and saw the wound.

"Sh*t." He cursed. He turned to Mike and Harris, who I just noticed were beside us.

"We need to take her back home." He told them.

Harris nodded and pulled me up carefully. Not to hurt me more than I already am and Mike pulled my bag over his shoulder.

Alex put my right arm around his shoulders and Harris did the same to my left arm. They both helped me walk with them back home.

When we arrived, the gate was already opened. We all walked inside to be greeted with the rest of the family members.

"Oh my God, what happened?" Sophie asked.

"Now is not the right time for questions. We have to aid her." Alex said.

I could feel myself going back into unconsciousness. My left arm that was around Harris slipped and all my weight was on Alex.

"Lexi." He said as he supported my weight with both hands. Left with no choice, he lifted me up in his arms and that was when I slipped away.

When I woke up, I felt much better. I looked around to see that I was at the pool house and was laying in my bed.

Alex was sitting on my bed with me. He was looking down at the sheets, like he didn't want to see me.

"Alex." I croaked out with my dry throat. Upon hearing his name, his head snapped up in my direction.

"Hey." He said with a smile.

"Water." I croaked out again.

"Oh right." He went out of the room and came back with a glass of water in hand.

He helped me sit up and gave me the glass of water. I drank it in one breath and gave it back to Alex.

He had bags under his eyes and he looked tired like he hadn't slept in days.

"Have you been sleeping?"

He shook his head and put his head on his hands then said, "No. I was worried about you."

"What happened after I passed out?" I asked him.

He sighed. "Well, I carried you here and Felix treated your wound. He said it'll take some time to heal."

I nodded and looked down at my clothes. I'm pretty sure I wasn't wearing these clothes yesterday.

"Who changed my clothes?" I asked.

"Lindsey did. When she was looking through your closet she said she was disappointed with your lack of fashion sense." He said and gave a fake chuckle.

I knew he was hurting from the tone of his voice even if he tried to hide it.

At that, the guilt started to build up and I regretted not telling him face to face instead of leaving a letter. I took his hand in mine and said, "Alex, I'm so sorry."

He looked at me for some time before he engulfed me in his arms being careful not to touch the wound.

My head was on his shoulder and my arms were on his back with my palms on the back of his a shoulders.

"It's okay." He whispered and kissed my temple.

I didn't say anything back so he asked, "You promise me that you won't pull a stunt like this again?"

I nodded and said, "I promise. I don't want to leave ever again because even if you're an idiot, you're still my brother."

He chuckled. "You missed me?"

I nodded again.

"It's okay. I missed you too. And now you don't get to leave me ever again." He said and pulled back.

He put his hands on my shoulders and I grabbed his wrists.

"I promise." I said.

He smiled and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"I love you." He said.

I smiled. "Love you too."
