"Yeah dad, Mom and Ash are at the penthouse right now." I say over the phone.

"Okay bud, I'll see you tomorrow." My father replies.

"Alright dad, I'm at a friends right now, love you."

"Love you too." The call ends and I begin to knock on Josies door.

The other day I talked to Dove about the drunk situation. It didn't fix a lot, but I knew for sure I needed to apologize to Josie. It was my turn to repair the damage I made, it was the child in me who hurt everyone. Now I just need to grow up and learn from my horrible actions .

No one was answering the door, so I knocked again, but before the third hit the door opens to the appearance of Pearl.

"DJ isn't here so leave asshole" Pearl rolls her eyes. She had her hair up in a bun and was wearing a yellow sundress.

"Actually I wanted to talk to Josie." I explain.

"Well she doesn't wanna talk to you."

"I understand, but please just let me have a chance." My palms were starting to get sweaty. From what? Really I don't know.

A second later, a hand rest's on Pearls shoulder. Josie comes up from behind her and nods.

"It's okay" she whispers. They stay there for a second just staring at each other, but then Pearl gives out and scoffs. She walks back in the house
to which I'm guessing into Josie room.

At the door, Josie rolls her eyes "what do you want Ezra?" She ask. "DJ isn't gonna be here for another hour."

"Why do you both assume I'm here for Dove, did y'all ever think maybe I wanna talk to my other friends too." I suggest.

"We're not friends, friends don't lie." Josie dismisses.

"Just let me explain, let me try at least to fix this." I say, my legs start to hurt from standing on this porch for so long.

We stand in silence as she thinks about it. After what feels like ten minutes, Josie sighs and moves to the right so I could come in. I grin, with small joy with her house smells like an evergreen candle.

"Wipe the smirk off your face Grey." Josie states.

Josie began leading me to back porch, but before she could open the sliding door a voice unrecognized fills the room.

"Josephine I have to get to work." The women says.

The women had jet black like Josies. She looked no older than 30 and she was very pretty. She was just a slightly older version than Josie. She was wearing scrubs and has a tote bag on her shoulder.

"Omg pumpkin! You've finally brung someone home." The lady smiles at me.

"Momma, we've talked about this. I have a girlfriend, you literally met her a few days ago." Josie sighs.

Her mom, looks so young and beautiful. The house they live in is amazing for only 3 people.

" I know baby, I'm joking." She walks over to Josie and kisses her on the cheek, her light red lipstick leaving a mark.

"Is Pearl alright? I saw her walk to your room and close the door." Josies mom ask.

"Yeah, you know with the whole Milo thing." Josie trails off.

"Oh! What was the kids name? Something like Edwin? Or was it Eddie." Josies mom goes on.

"Ezra momma, his name was Ezra."

"Yeah him! It was his fault, trying to ruin your career and their relationship right."

Ouch

"Momma, this is Ezra Grey." Josie direct her hands to me.

Her moms eyes go wide and she slaps her mouth.

" Oh my bad, Edwin. I didn't know."

"Ezra, nice to meet you." I clarify my name.

"Ah, yes. I'm miss Cole. Josies mom. It's glad to finally put a face to the young man that hurt my girls." She fake smiles.

"Momma!" Josie coughs.

"No it's alright. I'm sorry Ms.Cole I know what I did was wrong and cruel and I hurt people I love in the process, but I'm gonna fix my mistakes. So I truly apologizing for hurting your daughter, and I know no words could express the damage Ive causes, but I'm gonna try everything in my power to repair it." I explain.

"We'll good, I tired of my babies coming to me about boys and girls that they are to good for." Ms.Cole ticked off.

"Anyways, when DJ comes tell her I love and miss her and I'll see her Saturday." She adds on.

"Okay Momma, have a goodnight at work, I love you." Josie waves her mom out the door.

When the door shuts, a sight of relief bring over me. Josie begins to open the back porch for us to go out.

" So Girlfriend huh?" I teased.

"Yes, Cameron. The girl from the café."

"Oh my gosh, Cameron, as in the girl you bought plane ticket for to join us on the road trip."

"Yes!" Josie smiles.

"I'm glad you found someone." I admitted.

Josie nods, fiddling with her fingers. It goes quiet, birds start to chirp, and the wind blows to trees.

"I'm sorry about my mom." Josie clears her throat.
"I usually tell her everything that goes on in my life."

"No I totally understand, and that's great having a good communication with your parents." I confess

"What does your dad think?" I blurt.

Josies head snaps up,but then she sighs.
"I don't know"

"Is he happy for you too, or has he met her t-."

"I don't know okay!" Josie cuts me off mid sentence. Her leg begins to bounce up and down quickly.

She looks up at me. "I've never seen him, and momma doesn't talk about him. So we really don't have to do the whole sharing stories. Just do what you came here to do." Josie told off.

Her leg continues to bounce, when I don't say anything. I then place my hand on her knee and meet her eyes with sorrow.

" I'm sorry Josie." I start off.

"I'm sorry there wasn't a single man in life that could love you, like you deserve Josie."

"I'm sorry for being the person to make you cry for once."

"I'm sorry for the incident of ruining your career."

"I'm sorry about your dad."

" I'm sorry about that day, and I'd go back to make it all right."

"I'm sorry for hurting your friends and relationships."

"I'm sorry trying to mess up something you love."

" I'm sorry that my only choice left, ended up hurting you."

" And I'm so truly sorry for causing you pain , and I know we're not as close, as you and DJ, but you are my friend Josie. And friends shouldn't do the shit I do. My actions can't be changed, but I'd anything to help fix the friendship we have." I end.

I'm breathing heavily right now, Josie face is blank at the moment, but after a second her soft smile stretches upon her face.

"Aw Ezra Grey." I'm shocked at first when she pulls me into a hug, it takes me second but I give in and hold her like moment with me and Dove.

" you don't understand how sorry I am Josie." I whisper in her embrace.

"I know Ezra, I know."

The back door slides open and Pearl and Dove appear. Me and Josie tear apart and she gets up to hug Dove.
I meet the eyes of Dove and she smiles at me, nodding in knowing why I'm here.

She was wearing random graffiti T shirt and jean shorts. For some reason Dove never wears shorts or ever goes swimming in the water. So it was different. Her hair just seem wet out the shower and I bet she smelled like strawberry's.

"Hey Ezra Saturday, we're having a lake party at Pearls lake house. You and the guys can come. You can bring your parents too." Josie invites

I smile. "Thanks Josie."

I stand up and go by them. " I'm gonna head out, I wanted to apologize so much for hurting you all.
You don't deserve us guys." I say.

They all smile, but Pearl. But I get it I ruined her relationship and her friendship. She has every right to be upset.

" I'll see you guys Saturday." I say.

I leave, and when getting into the car a text chimes through my phone.

"Thank you."

Doves text was all I needed was to read help me keep going.
