THE NEXT DAY, I went to school, and everybody was looking at me. I ignored them, and I spent my day like any normal day.

On Thursday it was better, but I couldn't play in the volleyball game. We still won, but I sill wanted to play.

And now it was Friday–meaning Elliot is coming home. He'll be here around four or five this evening depending on his flight.

"Campbell, don't forget after school, me and you are driving," Dad said, pointing at me as he filled his cup up with coffee.

"Gotcha," I replied before stabbing my waffle with my fork.

"Good morning, Uncle Ross," Maya said, in a cheerful voice, behind me. I scowled are her voice.

After what happened Tuesday, Maya and I haven't talked or interacted. Not that I'm complaining.

"Campbell," Maya said, sitting across from me.

"Maya," I said in the exact same tone. I took a sip of my orange juice.

"Uncle Ross, I was wondering if you fix my flat tire today? I really need it fixed," Maya asked with pouty lips.

"I have to be at work in ten minutes, but I can definitely fix it later on this evening," Dad replied with a warm smile.

"That's alright. I'll just get one of the boys to do it. Maybe even Brent," Maya told him, making me squeeze my fork between my fingers.

That's it. She's playing with fire, and she's about to get burned.

"Ross, can you come here for a moment?" Mom called from her office.

"Coming," Dad called back before excusing himself, leaving Maya and I alone.

I turned to face her, angrily. She just smirked at me like she won a prize.

"Ooh, did I hit a nerve?" Maya asked with a fake sad face.

"I'm going to tell you one last time, Maya. Brent is my boyfriend. Not yours. Stay the hell away from him. You have been trying to steal him from me ever since you walked into the front door. He loves me and I love him. Leave us be," I told her, but she rolled her eyes.

"If only you knew the truth," she muttered, making me furrow my eyebrows.

Before I could press for information, Micheal walked into the kitchen. His black hair was still wet from the shower, and he look tired.

"You okay, Micheal?" I asked him as he opened the fridge.

He nodded,"Yeah. Practice has me worn out."

"I got to get going. Clary is outside," Maya told us, waving goodbye.

We heard the front door shut, meaning she left. Thank God.

"So, do you and Jordan have plan for your anniversary next week?" I asked Micheal, putting my plate into the kitchen.

He shrugged,"Probably just a movie and dinner."

"Are you excited to see Elliot?" I asked him, trying to keep the conversation going.

Anna told everybody that she couldn't come home. They all believed it, so not only will it be a surprise for Elliot, it will also be a surprise for everybody.

"Yeah," Micheal replied, shortly.

This is how it has been since Tuesday. He only replied to me with short answers. He wouldn't do it with anybody else. Just me.

My phone buzzed and I saw Brent texted me.

Sitting outside. - Brent

"Brent's here. I'll see you at school, Micheal," I said with a smile.

He didn't respond as I grabbed my things. I walked outside the door to see Brent's car parked along the sidewalk.

I climbed into the passenger door, and I shut my door. Brent kissed me on my cheek once I was all settled in the car.

"Good morning. I brought you coffee," Brent said, handing me a cup with coffee in it.

I smiled,"Thank you very much. I need this. I didn't sleep much last night."

I really didn't. I kept tossing and turning until the sun came up.

Brent turned onto the road, driving towards the school. I took a sip of my coffee before putting it in the cup holder.

"Do you think something is wrong with Micheal?" I asked him, looking out my window.

"No. Why?" Brent asked, making me look over at him.

"He just doesn't really talk to me anymore. It's like he's scared to talk to me," I replied, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

"He's growing up."

"I guess," I agreed, but deep down I knew something else was going on.

We arrived at the school, and I got out. I grabbed my bag and my coffee before shutting my door. I walked around the car to hold hands with Brent.

His hand slipped into mine then we were walking towards the double doors leading into the school.

I sat down between Brent and Jax at the lunch table. Everybody was discussing Elliot's return, and what we were doing this weekend.

"A pool hangout would be fun. We could do it at our house," Gaberial suggested, breaking apart his roll.

"That's exactly what we need. I just wish Anna and Madison could come," Nichole said, dropping her smile.

I understand why Nichole is so upset. She was best friends with both girls way before I came. They are like her sisters, and she misses them.

"I think Madison is flying back for homecoming. She's trying to get her parents to agree right now," Gavin informed us.

"Hopefully she can come," Hailey said before eating a fry.

"Are you taking anybody to homecoming, Jax?" Jordan asked him, laying her chin on her hand.

He shrugged,"She's taken."

Brent went still beside me. I looked over to see him focusing on his food.

"Aw, that sucks. But hey, you can always go with us," I told him, making everybody–except Brent–nod in agreement.

While everybody went into another conversation about the battle of the bands, I looked back at Brent.

"Are you okay?" I whispered, placing my hand on his hand.

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" Brent asked as he returned to himself.

"You sorta froze on me," I replied, recalling his actions just a few seconds ago.

"Just thinking about our next class," Brent said, looking at his water bottle.

And that was the end of that conversation.

For the rest of lunch, I finished my food and I talked to Nick about his math test. I have been helping him study this past week.

Once the bell rang, we threw away our trash before walking out of the cafeteria. Micheal disappeared within a second.

He has been doing that all week too. Jordan thinks he's acting normal, but I know Micheal, and I know he is hiding something.

"Hey, I have to do something real quick. I'll be in class in just a second," I told Brent before walking through the crowd of people.

I found Micheal outside at the courtyard, sitting on a bench. I walked over to him, and he looked surprise to see me.

"Cam, shouldn't you be in class?" Micheal asked me, standing up from the bench.

"I should ask you the same thing. Mic, you know that I'm always here for you. You can tell me anything," I told him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"There is nothing going on."

I sighed before saying,"I call bull. You haven't talked to me all week, you have been disappearing a lot, and you look stressed out. Don't tell me it's nothing."

"Just drop it, Campbell," Micheal said, pushing my hand off his shoulder.

"I'm not going to drop it," I retort, crossing my arms across my chest.

"Well–..." Micheal started but was cut off by somebody behind me.

"Why look what the cat drugged in," a male voice said behind me.

I turned around to see a boy around Micheal's age, maybe a year older. His dark blonde hair had so much gel that it looked fake, and his hazel eyes were staring at Micheal. There was two boys behind the dude. Micheal froze next to me.

"Damn, Micheal, I knew you had a sister, but I didn't except her to be hot," The guy said, looking me up and down.

"Come on, Micheal, let's go," I told Micheal, grabbing a hold of his wrist, gently.

As I started to walk away from the dude, he grabbed my upper arm. It wasn't a tight hold, but it was enough to make me stop walking.

"I would let go of me if were you," I warned him, eyeing his hand.

"Why?" The guy asked with a smirk.

"Well, let's just say that I not only have a boyfriend, I also have five brothers who will beat you senseless," I said with my own tiny smirk.

"The Cades are a joke," one of the other guys said, shaking his head.

"Yeah. We aren't scared of them. Beside we have a few words for Micheal," the guy who was holding my arm said.

Then he pushed me to the other guys, and they grabbed each of my arms. I struggled against their grip.

What in the hell is going on?

The gel dude walked over to Micheal before punching him straight across the face. Micheal lost his balance and he fell on the ground.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I yelled at the guy as I tried to get out of the guys' grip.

The boy ignored me and he kneeled down in front of Micheal. Micheal was sitting up. He had a huge red mark on his cheek from the punch.

"Did you like my note I sent you? It such a  honest message," The guy said, taunting Micheal.

"Just leave us alone, Mark," Micheal told the guy.

"I will once you kill yourself," Mark replied, making my blood boil.

"Why the hell would you tell him that, you asshole?!" I yelled at Mark, making him walk back over to me.

I kicked one of the boys' leg, and he let go of me. I used my free hand, and I slapped Mark across the face.

His head snapped to the right, and a hand print was already being made on his cheek.

Before he could do anything, he was knocked to the ground. The guy that was holding my other arm was pulled off of me.

I quickly ran over to Micheal to make sure he was okay. I helped him up, and we looked back to see Brent and Nick standing over the boys who were awake but were scared to get up.

"Are you guys okay?" Brent asked us, concern flashed through his eyes.

We nodded, and then the principal made his way over to us. His eyes widen when he saw what was going on.

"All of you to my office, now!" He yelled at us, making me flinch slightly.

Great. Now we are all in trouble.
