RING. RING. RING.

I shut my book I was reading and I stood up from my desk. It was finally the end of the day, and I was glad. Maya hasn't said one word to me since this morning.

I don't know if that is a good thing or not.

"I have something to ask you," Brent said, catching my attention as we walked out of the classroom to our lockers.

"Ask away," I said as I enlaced our hands together.

"Friday, since it's our first game of the season, we have this tradition where somebody wears our jerseys," Brent started before continuing,"Would you like to wear my jersey?"

I nodded, excitedly,"I would love to."

Brent smiled,"I knew you would like the idea."

We chatted about one of our classes while we opened our lockers and walked to the football field. Boys were already on the field, talking among themselves while the cheerleading squad was in the corner, going over something.

That's when I saw Maya with them. She giggled at something Naomi said. Her eyes met mine, and it was like she was looking deep into my soul.

"I gotta go get change," Brent said with a groan.

"Have fun with that. I'll be waiting in the bleachers," I told him before he kissed me on the forehead.

Then he walked off, and I made my way over to the bleachers. I sat down in the middle so I could see the whole field.

I saw my brothers walking onto the field, laughing at something. My phone rang in my pocket, and I grabbed it to see who it was. The caller id stated Mom do I quickly answered it.

"Hello?" I asked, placing the phone to my ear.

"Hey, sweetie, I'm stuck in a meeting. Can you stop by the store and pick up some stuff for dinner? I'll send you a list in a few minutes. If I send one of the boys, they will get whatever they what instead of what is on the list," Mom asked, quickly.

"Sure," I replied.

"Thank you so much. I'll be home soon."

"Okay. Love you Mom," I said, pushing hair out of my face.

"Love you too. Bye," Mom said before the call ended.

I sat there, watching Brent and the boys practice. Sometimes I glanced over at the cheer squad to see them doing flips and cartwheels.

The boys were ready for the game Friday night. I have a good feeling that we'll win.

Once practice was over, Brent took a quick shower. As I waited for him, Maya walked up to me.

"I'm riding with Clary. Btw, I didn't know you two had history," Maya said, batting her eyelashes with pettiness.

"That's none of your business," I replied with a fake grin.

Before she could say anything else, Brent walked over to us with his gym bag on his shoulder.

"It was so nice talking to you," Maya said with a bright smile as she walked away.

"What was that about?" Brent asked me, pointing back to Maya.

I shrugged,"Nothing, just girl talk."

He threw an arm around my shoulders as we walked to his car. Nick, Micheal, and the twins walked with us to the parking lot. We chatted about how practice went, and how exhausted they were.

"I have to get some stuff for dinner, but I will be there soon," I told the boys as they climbed into their vehicles.

"Okay. See you then," Nick said before shutting his car.

Brent and I got into his car, and he drove out of the parking lot. We drove to the supermarket, listening to the radio.

As Brent and I walked into the supermarket, I looked at my list of food to get for dinner. Brent grabbed a buggy before walking beside me.

"So what do you need first?" Brent asked as we walked around a corner.

"Broccoli, rolls, and mac & cheese," I said, reading the list off of my phone.

"To the bread aisle," Brent exclaimed, pointing ahead.

I laughed as we turned onto the bread aisle. I grabbed two packs of rolls, placing them in the buggy.

I walked beside Brent around the corner to the freezer aisle when our buggy got hit by another buggy.

"Oopies..." a tiny voice said.

My eyes widened I saw David running down the aisle. I looked over at the buggy to see Leah with a worried look on her face.

"Leah Ann Perry! I told you to stay put!" David scolded, looking over his daughter to make sure she was alright.

"I'm sorry, Daddy. I was just playing," Leah apologized with puppy eyes.

"I'm so sorry about that," David apologized until his eyes widen. "Campbell, hey."

I smiled,"Hey, Mr. Perry."

"You two know each other?" Brent asked beside me, confused.

I nodded,"Mr. Perry came over with his wife and daughter for dinner the other night."

"Oh," Brent said as he understand what I was saying.

"How was your weekend?" David asked with a smile.

"It was good. How was yours?" I asked him, kindly.

"Same. I had two surgeries."

"That sounds cool," Brent commented behind me.

"Again, I'm so sorry. I was looking at something, and Leah took the cart away before I even noticed," David apologized once more.

I waved it off,"It's fine. I used to do the same thing when I was little."

Leah gave me a small smile which caused my heart to melt. Leah is adorable.

David nodded before his eyes look at me with curiosity. Then he laughed at himself.

"I'm sorry, but you look exactly like Grace, just shorter. Like you guys can be sisters," David said, making me gulp.

"I think it's the hair and the eyes," I said, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, right," David said, unsure. "It was so good seeing you again."

"You too. Have a nice evening," I said, waving bye at them.

"Bye, Campbell," Leah said before they disappeared around the corner.

"That's your half sister?" Brent asked me as we walked down the freezer aisle.

I nodded,"Yep. She's five."

"She's adorable."

I opened the freezer door, and I grabbed a bag of broccoli. I threw it in the cart before slowly walking towards the end.

"She is, isn't she?"

"They seem like nice people," Brent said, following behind me.

"They are, but they have no idea who I am. Grace hasn't told them the truth, and I don't think she ever will," I said, truthfully.

"Well, at least you know she's alive and well. I mean, she can be dead," Brent said, making me stop dead in my tracks.

"It feels like she's dead. She lied to everybody about what happen ten years ago, and now she is a completely different person. She's not the same person I knew," I said, turning around to face him.

"Come on let's go get the mac & cheese," Brent said before gasping. "Can we get this huge box of Goldfish? Nessa are all of mine, and she has yet to apologized."

I laughed, shaking my head. "Sure. Why not?"

He, happily, put the Goldfish, gently, into the cart like it was his tiny baby.

I have a child for a boyfriend...

But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
