Whereas Alaska was still crying in Xavier's arms, Maxim and Leonid were arguing in their apartment.

"Why did you stomp out like a madman? You should've seen her fucking face! You know how afraid she is to lose us!!" Maxim yelled as he ran a hand through his hair in frustration.

"She fucking likes him! What was I supposed to do? Tell her how happy I am for her?? Or make plans for her wedding? Or give her name ideas for her children? Huh?!?" Leonid shouted. His heart was beating rapidly and his hands were still trembling from the news that were just thrown at him one hour ago.

"You could've at least told her that you're fine with it!" the younger guy exclaimed angrily and threw his hands in the air.

"But I ain't fine with it!!" Leonid shot back and plopped down on the couch before he put his head into his hands and sighed heavily.

"What should we do now?" he whispered with a shaky voice.

"What...what if-..."

"Don't even think about it!" Maxim growled, trying to hide the quiver in his voice as he was just as sacred as his friend.

"She won't!" he reassured though he wasn't sure at all. He didn't know whether that one thing, that they both feared the most, would happen or not. He just didn't. But he had to be strong. If he lost it now then the chances of it happening would increase.

But both Maxim and Leonid had no idea of what high danger their bestfriend will soon be in. They had no idea of how everything they feared will be nothing as fearful as what was to come. They didn't even think about the possibility of her being in danger because of that one guy. They didn't know how powerful that man truly was.

If only they had known.

The rather old man made his way to the chair behind his desk and sat down before crossing his arms over his chest and staring intently at the guy in front of him.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice low and void of any emotion as his eyes wandered to the guy's trembling hands. He smirked at the sweat falling down the man's face and gestured for him to speak.

"T-the girl...she-she was seen with R-ricci, sir." he stuttered, which annoyed the old man but he didn't point it out in fear that the shaking guy would pass out and wouldn't be able to complete his task.

"Very good, then. That little bitch is playing victim and goodie two shoes, huh? That girl shouldn't even be alive!" the old man's light grey hair fell in front of his eyes as he punched the table with his fists with so much force that a couple of papers fell down onto the cold wooden floor. He furiously pushed his hair back in place and gulped down one of his pills, which he was prescribed due to his weak heart.

"S-sir, we prepared everything for the ball next month. A-as long as she shows up there, there will be no-no problem." The guy tried his best to sound confident but failed once again as his quivering lip betrayed him.

"Make sure she shows up there or I will rip out your fucking tongue, got it?!" the grey haired man yelled and dismissed the pale looking boy with a hand gesture, whereupon he practically ran out of the office.

The old man stood up and walked over to his window with a bottle of tequila in his hands. He opened the bottle and swallowed down a huge gulp of the liquid, hissing at the burning sensation running down his throat.

"You bitch will pay for what you did!" he slurred and took another sip while he tried to stand still.

"You will regret the day you were born! You will regret destroying my life!! You will regret making my family fall apart and making my wife divorce me!" he yelled and threw the now empty bottle against a wall whereupon a loud shattering sound rang out throughout the whole warehouse, making all the guards flinch.

"You...you will regret it." he whispered, letting tears run down his face as he looked at a picture of his beautiful wife. She divorced him and forbade him to see his children. And all that because of one certain girl. One certain girl with raven black hair and chocolate brown eyes. That one girl that couldn't seem to stop making him suffer.

Every laugh that left her mouth sent a pang to his heart as he remembered how he wasn't able to hear his wife's voice. Every cry that escaped her lips reminded him of how he never saw his children grow up.

He hated everything about her and was blinded by his anger. He couldn't think nor sleep properly because of the boiling rage inside of him. He wanted revenge. Revenge for her destroying his life. For her being the cause of his divorce and alcohol addiction. She was the cause of his weak heart and his poor condition.

She was the cause of his heart slowly breaking apart.

"Be prepared you slut." he said with an evil glint glistening in his eyes as his eyelids got heavier and he plopped down on the couch.

He shrugged off his jacket and lazily threw it in one corner of the room. He opened up a bottle of whiskey and downed half of it before he set it down on the end table and leaned back on the comfortable sofa.

His smirk grew when he replayed his evil plan in his head and his anticipation, for that day to come, rose. The day of his revenge. The day of her death. The day that will change his and her life forever.

The day of the mafia ball.

Hey there, second chapter for the day! ☺

Well, the chap is based on an idea from 1-800-DoNt-CaRee. (I hope you don't mind me mentioning you, by the way). She had an idea about a mafia ball, where Xavier and Alaska would practically announce that they're a couple.
(It was an idea for future chapters, when Xav and Al would already be a couple and so on.)

And yeah so that message inspired me and here we are now. 😂

Who do you think is that weird old man?
And what will happen on that ball?
Also, what are Leo and Max afraid of?

A lot of questions again 😅

Stay safe ya guys! Love y'all!
