A ship.

And it's not the mediocre kind of ship either.

Imagine six yatch, fancy, clean, expensive- conjoined to create the floating machine you're standing on.

Taehyung slides his shoulder off the wall and takes long, slow strides towards you.

"Do you like it?"

Do I like it?

That's seriously the first thing he says after pulling this off?

From where you're standing, you can either go left, right or over the upper bridge behind you then straight to the ocean.

That last one could work. Only if you were so desperate to leave.

But you're not.

It's a long way down. And to top it all off, you're not a good swimmer.

Taehyung stops in front of you, hands crossed over his chests and amusement highlighting his tone.

"We're far from the nearest shore. So even if you jump out, you'll die trying to swim your way back to land."

"Oh, so you read minds now?"

He shrugs his shoulders, muscles in motion beneath his shirt. "It's written all over your face. But your eyes tells me you're backing out since you're a terrible swimmer."

And the reason he knows this stems way back to when you were both still kids.

It was around the holidays. You and Taehyung were about ten years old. You recall there being sections specifically made for adults and kids. You really wanted to try the adult pool even if it meant drowning yourself to death.

Just this ones.

It was one of the things you wanted to do before the year ended.

So you made the terrible mistake in the world and jumped in.

Taehyung saved you and ended up giving you the silent treatment the whole day.

When your best friend ignores you, that's the worst feeling ever.

The sudden tap on your nose strips you from the flashback. It's been a while since you've recalled that memory. So it's making you feel fuzzy in the stomach.

"Now's not the time to think, Y/n. Let's go." He nudges his chin. "I'll show you around. And then maybe after lunch, I could teach you how to swim."

That earns him an ugly slap on the back. Hunching over, Taehyung groans with collected breaths as he rubs the throbbing area. "Sometimes I forget you slap like a man."

"That's for kidnapping me."

And for teasing me.

He knows how annoyed you get everytime he brings that story up.

He's annoying.

Blinking his eyes in offence, Taehyung stands up straight and goes. "Excuse me?"

You mirror his expression, stopping to face him with crossed arms and a challenging chin up. "You heard me right."

Guess he didn't think you'd perceive his action in that particular way.

The area between Taehyung's eyes slopes in trouble and it's enough to change your mind.

Perhaps you went overboard with that 'kidnapping' statement.

It's not like Taehyung's a stranger after all.

So maybe you did go a bit overboard there.

Just a little.

"Can't you think of this as a.." He fumbles for words to say but ends up switching the point. "Okay, fine. I kidnapped you. But what kind of sane person hits their own kidnapper?"

So this is where he wants the conversation to go?

Too can play this game.

Shoving counting fingers up his face, you begin to list out every sin he's done in the past twenty four hours. "First, you bring me here while I'm unconscious- obviously against my will. Second, I have no idea where you're taking me. I'm basically trapped here and the only way out? Will only happen if I have a death wish. I don't even think you'll turn the ship around even if I asked nicely."

Taehyung's eyes have narrowed down, staging dilemma."Di-... You didn't ask."

Well, in that case. "Will you turn the ship around then?"

"No."

You throw your hands in the air. "You've proved my point. Who's the sane person between the two of us now?"

Satisfaction floods your body when he says nothing.

Good.

After a moment of silence, Taehyung brush his fingers across his hair and let's out a sigh. "I'm still not bringing you back though."

You shrug your shoulders, expecting he'd say that. "Didn't think so."

"And you're still a terrible swimmer."

You snapped your head so fast you think you pulled a muscle. "Watch it."

Chuckling, he disregards your warning tone and nudges you on the arm. "Okay. Now can we go get some food? I'm starving."

-

After lunch, he showed you around the ship while narrating the background behind the ship after you brought it up.

Turns out, it was a gift given to him by his parents two years ago.

It didn't take long before night time came.

Not once have you've imagined yourself in a ship gazing at the moon in the middle of the ocean.

The view is spectacular.

The cool breeze feels like ice gliding down your skin, coaxing you to bring your arms together for warmth.

Despite the cold, it feels nice to be out of the city.

It's refreshing.

A coat's suddenly draped over your body, followed by the familiar deep voice of Taehyung.

"It's cold." He comments, adjusting the fabric to sit just right around your shoulders. With a satisfied hum, he joins you to watch the sky.

"Thanks."

"This is nice." Taehyung leans his body a bit forward, arms above the figurehead of the ship. When a gush of wind passes by, his hair moves with the motion. "You know, sometimes I wonder how things would've turned out If I hadn't left back then. You'd probably already be good at swimming."

You give him a side glare but he barely acknowledges it, smiling at the moon. It's hard to stay mad when he's looking like this.

"I like being with you, Y/n." He suddenly confesses. "I hope you feel the same way."
