I did not get to see much of Diallo Sunday. Me and my roomies talked a lot about any and everything. I got to know more of the,m, and I was glad. Allura was rich and spoiled because she was an only child and her parents wanted more kids, but couldn't so they spoiled her rotten. Twyla had another brother who was ten years older, and married and she was not close with him.

During Allura's gap year, her parents let her travel all alone. She went to several states around the country before she did some overseas travel in Italy, France, and Spain. To say I was just a little bit jealous was an understatement.

I wanted to tell them about my trust fund. I could travel with some of that money and still have enough for school. Angel said I could use it for school or anything else I wanted.

But I did not want to tell them, not yet anyway.

Twyla came from a wealthy background as well. Her parents were a lot older, they did not spoil her too much, in fact, they did not spend enough time with her because they were older. They barely had the energy she said, to go to any of her activities, and she was a cheerleader, a swimmer and she played piano and had recitals.

I was glad my parents were younger and somewhat hip, but the fact that they were never married and never lived together was my issue. I might have turned out differently if they were. Then again, I'm glad my father never married my toxic mother. I told them all of that too.

We were finally close enough to tell each other everything after four weeks.

But by the time I knocked on Diallo's door, he was busy doing RA work he tried to explain to me. Some meetings or something, so I went back to hang with my roomies. We talked the night away.

First class Monday, who do I see? King.

Oh gee, what would I say to him?

"Hey fresh, what you been up to," he said when I sat next to him. I did not want to be rude and sit somewhere else simply because I had a boyfriend now.

"Nothing much," I say, sipping on a caramel mochiatto that Diallo brought me before I headed off to class. He said I needed to switch things up, and I was not mad at his selection.

"Wanta hang out after class? We can hit up the CU, go to the arcade room."

Could I hang with another guy while I had a boyfriend now? Maybe. If that guy had hot already admitted to me he liked me and wanted me to be his girlfriend. This was tough.

"King, I need to tell you something."

"Shoot."

"I uh...umm...see, what happened was..."

He chuckled at me. "Girl, why are you stressing? You can tell me anything."

"Ummm," I scratched my head. "See, there's this guy...on my floor. Well, actually, he's the RA and he has been really nice to me and then we hung out and I found out he likes me and I liked him and so I...he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes." I said it quickly and then took a long gulp of my drink.

King did not say anything to any of my fast-talking babble. I cringed thinking he would hate me now, get up and walk away from me, and never want to see me again.

"It's Diallo Azzouzi, right?"

"Yeah."

"I mean, I could tell y'all was vibing," he said. "I just hoped I had a chance."

"So you're not mad at me. I know you wanted us to be more, but I-"

"No, it's cool, Fresh. He swooped up a good thing, I'm not mad."

I smiled. That was a relief. King was so smooth, and hot, he could have any other girl he wanted, of course, he didn't care about little old me.

"So we're still friends?"

"I have no problem with that. Make sure ole boy has no problem with that."

"He wouldn't. I told him we were friends."

Okay, maybe I didn't exactly tell him that, but I would. There was no need for Diallo to be jealous, even though I know he felt some kind of way last week seeing us together.

Anyway, after class, I did not hang out with King, I went to the library on my own and studied. I would have to tell Todd as well. I had to face him, and not be a coward.

Are you free to meet with me today

He did not respond to my text right away, so I waited. I got some work done, took about an hour, but no response yet. I left to go grab lunch before my other classes. I got a text while I was eating my Chipotle burrito.

Hey you

It was from Diallo, not Todd. I smiled.

Hey, what's up

Can we hang later today?

Sure

I have another class then a meeting, but I'll swing by your place

Cool

It was still weird having Diallo as my boyfriend. I know that meant I needed to spend time with him, I just did not know what that meant. I went to read a YA romance story to see how other relationships work, even though I read a hundred of those in my younger years. Used to stay up late at night on my phone reading free online romance stories. Maybe that is what got me looking for a happily ever after.

I did not have much time to read for fun anymore. All my reading needed to be schoolwork. But after class, that is what I did, get lost in love stories. Most of them were smutty and the young kids were doing things I was not ready for.

I was so into my book, Twyla came knocking on my bedroom door saying Diallo was here.

I jumped up from my bed to go out to see him. He was sitting on the couch looking right at home.

"Sorry, were you busy?"

"No!" I quickly say. I was not going to tell him I was not studying, only reading cringy fiction.

"Come on, sit with me."

I went to sit beside him and he put his arm around me.

"Aaw, you two look so cute!" Twyla said.

"I just need to relax and chill with my girl...Twyla you can come hang out with us."

"Don't mind if I do!"

Twyla said, coming to sit down.

How dare she be a third wheel!

We watched some TV, but the whole time I was thinking about how close I was to Diallo, how good he smelled, and that he made me all tingly inside. I even cuddled up next to him, wrapping an arm across his waist. I was in heaven.

"Did you eat dinner? I already did at my meeting."

"Ummm, no, but it's fine." I was too comfortable cuddled next to him, I would rather die from hunger than move.

"Come on girl, you gotta eat. And it's part of my RA duties to make sure every person on my floor is doing well." He threw me that adorable grin. "And now part of my boyfriend duties."

Oh my heart, my heart!

Diallo stood up and went to my kitchenette to look in the fridge. Twyla leaned over to me.

"OMG, can you just...he's so freaking hot!"

"I know!" I said with a giggle.

Diallo turned around to us.

"I can hear you, you know."

Oh, my face would have turned red if it could.

"Rayvn, you only have junk food in here. You need some real food."

"Why? Real food I can't cook in here with only a microwave," I said, getting up to go into the kitchen. "I'll just pop some popcorn and call it a night."

"I can run and get you something."

"That's so nice, but don't worry about it."

"Hey, I got you. Remember that," he said, then kissed me on the forehead. "I'll be right back."

He left the suite and I stood there frozen. How could I not fall in love with this boy?

A/N: I see a red flag on Rayvn's part. Does anyone else know what it is?
