Happy New Year Guys!!

So, I've been running on Indian time for the past three years, going on four. I don't know what time you run on but it's officially the new year and I want to wish you guys an amazing year. Last year was tough on everyone due to the pandemic and it's not looking like it's slowing down anytime soon with the second wave.
But don't let that get you down! You have yourself, you have your family and friends, don't give up!

Yes, some of us have lost people and it's ok to grieve but also remember that whoever you lost would want you to be happy. Grieve as much as your heart and soul wants you to, it might take time but know that you'll be fine.

Some of us have been through a tough time personally. There's a storm within you that you don't understand and some days are ok, some days are bad, some days are worse. But remember you have people around you who care, so don't let go of yourself.

Some of us made most of 2020 and whatever it is you've achieved, personally or professionally, you should be proud of yourself. No matter how little it might seem, a tiny step goes a long way. Celebrate the little things.

I read something somewhere that said "2020 was supposed to be the year of growth/achievement but it was a year of gratitude."

We all had plans in 2020 and it didn't go as planned and this new year I just want to tell you guys that it's ok to plan but don't forget everything that's happened this last year, don't forget to take a pause when/if this year gets hectic and remember to be thankful, don't forget to be thankful of the small things, like waking up, going out (with or without a mask), getting back home safely, your family and friends being alive and well, your state of mind, nature, everything and everyone around you. Be thankful for every little thing.

I added a song up there, which is one of my favourite songs by Hillsong Young and Free. A lot of their songs helped me get through 2020 and some other gospel songs as well. I hope you check them out and listen to their songs.

Finally, moving on to the other reason of this Author's Note, it's officially the end of The Wild Virgins Series. The last chapter and Epilogue of Unforgettable Feelings went up yesterday and even though I did finish writing the book two weeks ago, it was hard saying goodbye...again.

I felt both sad and happy, a sense of achievement and a bit nostalgic as the entire book series played in my head for a moment too long. It kinda felt like how I feel right now, about 2021. I'm happy to start the new year but I don't want it to start cause that means it'll go by and by May/June, I'll be graduating College which makes me kinda sad.

Either way, I look forward to what this year has to offer. Be it more quarantine, more isolation, more pandemic, more mask wearing, I'll embrace it...because no situation is permanent, everything happens for a reason and EVERY LITTLE THING'S gonna be alright.

Moving on to the final announcement...

My next book!

If you've checked my website (link in my bio) you probably already know the title of the book and if you follow me on Instagram (@janelanett), you know that the trailer goes up later today on my IGTV.

Introducing my new, upcoming book:
Love & Serenity

The prologue was supposed to be up on the 1st of February and you guys know I like to complete my book within 6 months, but... I realized it's my final year, my final semester in college. There would be a lot going on and I'm not sure I'll be able to swing college and a book this time because I had a taste of that August-December last year while I was writing Unforgettable Feelings and let me just say it wasn't fun.

I'm not going to promise anything but I'll write a few chapters here and there when I can so it'll go up later this year, I don't know when but later.

So, keep an eye out for it. I'll make an announcement a week or so before it comes out, so make sure you hit that follow button so you don't miss it.

Here's the storyline:

Best-selling author, Heather Brown - Lillian, has lost her inspiration and she's out to get some for her next book. Her agent, the closest thing she has to a family, sends her to Vermont.

There Lillian meets Jackson whom she doesn't know is Nashville's very own top recording artist, Jackson Hill. Lillian thinks he's perfect for her new book and gets started on it. A little conflict turns to understanding, turns to blossoming feelings.

After months of writing as well as getting to know this real-life character, Lillian finds out exactly why Jackson is hiding out in Vermont. Her new book doesn't seem like such a good idea anymore.

In the beginning, she set out to find serenity for inspiration but in the end, she found both Love and Serenity.

With that said...It's a WRAP!

Happy New Year!

Lots of Love,
Jane Lanett ❤️
xoxo
