Fred had never been stunned by anything but right then and there, Mia had managed to do just that.
"You...me?"

Mia smiled.
"Yes, you." She said. "You're the person who makes me feel that way."

Fred released a breath he hadn't known he had been holding.
"You have had me waiting and on edge for the past month. Mad and jealous of myself over nothing."

Mia placed a hand over her mouth holding the laugh back.
"I'm sorry." She said. "I couldn't tell you before because it would have been out there and I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it."

"Do anything about it?" He asked, confused.

"Yea, you know because of the bar exam. I wouldn't have been able to do anything after if I had told you then. It would have just been for the sake of telling."

"So, let me get this straight; if you had told me, you would've wanted to do something about it afterward."

Mia nodded.

"So, now that I know, what are you going to do now?"

Mia shrugged.
"You know, spend time with you, get to know you better; if that's what you want as well, I mean."

Fred smiled and placed a hand over hers.
"Of course that's what I want."

She smiled.
"Good."

"No. Great."

Mia grinned and got back to her food while Fred watched her.
"Speaking of getting to know each other, you said something earlier about self-realization, care to elaborate?"

Mia dropped her cutlery.
"I also said let's leave it at that."

"Why do you like prolonging things?"

"And why are you impatient?"

Fred sighed and was silent for a moment.
"I've never been this way." He said. "I used to be the most patient person the room, but I waited for something too long and instead of the positive end I had hoped for, I got nothing but regret."

Mia saw something flash in his eyes for a brief moment and it was gone.
"Something or someone?"

Fred looked at her and smiled.
"Let's leave it at that."

Mia smiled and shook her head.
"Fine by me."

The spent the entire evening with each other with Mia snacking on the donuts even after the amazing dinner they had. That was until she checked the time and realized how late it was.

"Crap." She got up and gathered her things. "I'm supposed to be somewhere."

Fred frowned.
"Tonight."

Mia looked up at him.
"Yea." She answered vaguely.

"Alright, I'll drive you."

"No, it's ok. I have to go home to change and then head there."

"I'm fine driving you."

Mia studied him for a moment.
"Actually, would you like to come?" She paused. "All my girls would be there with someone; it would be nice to have someone with me."

Fred quirked a brow.
"So you want me there because 'it would be nice', not because we're together."

It was Mia's turn to quirk her brow.
"Are we?" She asked. "Together."

"Aren't we?"

Mia smiled and shrugged.
"I would like that...but I think we should just see each other a little bit longer before we decide that."

"Fine by me."

Mia sighed and nodded.
"Cool." She said. "So...do you want to be my date tonight?"

Fred smiled.
"I'd love to."

She watched him grab his keys and walk towards her and she frowned.

"What?" He asked.

"You might want to change out of that formal clothing."

He looked at his cloth and frowned like he hadn't known he had been wearing that.
"Of course. Give me two minutes."

She nodded and watched him go up the nearest stairwell. It hadn't been exactly two minutes but Mia wasn't concerned when Fred walked down the stairs in all black. Black body-hugging t-shirt and jeans with a sexy leather jacket and the latest black Nike shoes to complete the look.

If she hadn't caught herself quickly, she would have drooled a lot.

"Let's go." He said and she blinked before he whisked her away to her apartment.

While Fred waited for her downstairs, she picked out a black number from her closet with a smile and paired it with red fuck me heels and an even redder lips if that was possible. Her makeup was done in record time because she didn't want Fed waiting too long for her but 'record time' might have been far too long for Fred because he knocked on her door.

"I'm ready." She said as she clasped the hook to her choker neckpiece. Fred might have taken her reply as a 'come in' sign because he opened her door just as she picked up her clutch. She turned around and paused when she saw the look on his face.

"Bloody-fucking-hell."

Mia immediately bit down on her bottom lip to stop from grinning like a woman who had just accomplished something.

After scanning her, head to toe, Fred brought his gaze back up to hers.
"Are you planning to punish someone?"

She shook her head.
"Just planning to have fun."

"With just me, I hope."

Mia smiled.
"Why Frederick?" She walked towards him. "Worried about something?"

"Oh, I'm not worried because I'm not the one who'll be in trouble for looking or touching you tonight."

"Just tonight."

"And every other fucking night...or day."

"A little too possessive aren't you."

"You haven't seen anything yet sweetheart."

Mia had more fun that night than she had had before because Fred had been there through it all. Even though he hadn't let her dance with anyone except himself, she wasn't complaining, rather, she liked it that he wanted her all for himself.

He dropped her off very early that morning and she had quickly gotten out of the car before she did or said anything she wasn't truly ready for. Then she had spent most the morning staring at the ceiling and thinking about how things had gone since Andre and Fred showed up in Leicester.

When she hadn't been able to sleep, she got out of bed and went downstairs for coffee.

Hey guys,

I know I didn't post on Tuesday, I apologize. I just realized it yesterday when a friend told me it was Friday.

With the Quarantine, I think everyone is slowly losing their minds. Which I know is far better than losing your life.

So, please stay safe and healthy.

All my love,
Jane Lanett.
