A LOUD AND INTENSIVE screech came from the woods on her right. The young girl jumps to her feet, with fear etched in her face.

-"Ok, ok," She whispers to herself, not really sure why.

The loud screech is heard again, and that's when she runs for it. The screeching got quieter the farther she ran, it stopped completely after she realized that the road she was running down looked very familiar. She slows down, knowing perfectly well where this road will lead to. She slows down to a walking pace and readjusts her backpack straps. She took her surroundings in, trying to imagine that she was at home, and not here. She walked for a quarter of a mile and that's when the house came into view.

The Byers house stood exactly where it did in the real world. Except it looked trashed, and strange plants littered the front lawn. The sticky substance that Stella called goo, was plastered all over the windows and door. Stella scrunches up her nose in disgust when she sees it's on the door knob. She walks around to the back and sees the shed.

"Ugh! Disgusting!" She cries after steeping in some goo. She steps backwards and slips on more goo. This causes her to fall on her back with a thud.
Tears start to well up in her eyes, while she lays in the ground in the goo, not caring about the fact that she's now utterly dirty.

"Why didn't I just go when Mike called?!" She cries to herself.

"Then I wouldn't be here! Heck, I don't even know where I am!" Her voice grows loud after each word.

After having a mental breakdown, she wipes her eyes and takes a deep breath. She sits up and clenches her fist tightly.

"I will find a way out!" She promises herself as she stands to her feet.

"I can do this! Just remember what the book on survival said." She continues to distract herself.

"First, find shelter. Yeah, if this is Hawkins, then Castle Byers should be near by." She sniffles and takes off with determination.

STELLA DID NOT SHOW up at school at all that day. Fear of being rude, turned into slight worry, for Mike, and it showed at lunch.

-"It's weird Stella didn't come today. Do you think she skipped?" Mike asks the group trying to keep his cool.

Dustin shakes his head, and explains to Mike that Stella's never missed a day of school in her life.

-"How do you know?! You moved here in the fifth grade!" Lucas throws his hands up in confusion.

-"She told me so herself!" Dustin defends himself between bites of nougat.

-"Wait, guys, I've been thinking about and, do you think it's possible that what happened to Will, happened to Stella?" Mike asks cautiously.

-"What do you mean?" Dustin squints his eye and tilts his head slightly.

-"What I mean is, Willย  went missing over by Mirkwood, do you think Stella...."

-"Ok hold up." Lucas cuts him off.

"You can't just jump to conclusions! I'm sure she's perfectly fine!" Lucas smiles to lighten up the mood.

"She's perfectly not fine." Lucas corrects himself after they pick up Stella's bike.

"This isn't right. We need to tell someone that we found her bike here." He rambles on, concern landing his voice.

-"No we can't yet! Maybe she's around here somewhere! We're not even supposed to be out here!" Mike tries to stay calm whilst reminding his friends that they were breaking rules.

-"No?! Um news flash, but this is the exact street where our missing friend Will, feel off his bike, and has now been gone for three days!" Lucas throws his hands up in the air to make his point.

-"Lucas is right Mike, maybe she can talk some sense into you!" Dustin points to Eleven.

-"What do you think El?" Mike asks her gently.

Elven, whose eyes were closed, opens them and turns to the boys. She takes a deep breath before saying the following.

-"Stella isn't here." She says slowly.

-"Where is she then," Mike lowers his voice. Dustin and Lucas huddle in closer.

-"Bad place......"

STEVE WAS WORRIED. He couldn't control himself when it came to worrying. He was constantly running his hands through his hair, and the minute that he heard that Stella had not gone to school that day, he nearly passed out.

But what sacred him more, was when the phone rang. Maybe it was Mrs. Byers getting back to him to see if Stella has been there today?

He answers the phone with slightly shaking hands and a quivering voice.

-"H-hello?" He answers trying to keep his cool.

-"Steve! It's your mother!" Mrs. Harrington laughs on the other line.

Steve chuckles nervously along with his mom. Mr. Harrington joins in, and he asks the poor boy how things were going at home.

-"Oh, you know! Just fine!" He lies.

-"Great! Can we talk to Stella?!"

Steve felt like passing out right there. His mind went blank as he tried to think of a way to get himself out of this pickle.

-"Um she's not home right now! She's over at uh, Will's you know Byers." He concocts up a story quickly.

-"Oh, well have her call us when she gets home. The number should be on the fridge." Mrs. Harrington says without a care in the world.

-"She can't!" Steve blurts out, he then covers his mouth and mentally face palms himself at his stupidity.

-"What was that? I think we're breaking up," Mr. Harrington says aloud in the background.

-"What do you mean 'she can't'?" Mrs. Harrington questions him slowly.

-"I'm sorry I yelled! What I meant was, she's spending the night!" He says somewhat casually.

-"Ok, well I'm gonna call Joyce and tell her I don't want them staying up all night. Bye Steve!" She hangs up quickly.

-"No! Wait!" Steve yells.

Just as luck would have it, the phone rang again. Steve answers it hastily and says hello quicker than you can spell it.

-"Hello? Steve? This is Joyce Byers. Just calling you back, I saw your message." Joyce says with gulp. She wanted this phone call to be over and done with so she could go look for her son.

-"Mrs. Byers my sister is missing and my mom is gonna call you about a sleepover. Please play along. You have to. Gotta go." He hangs up.

-"Wait? Steve!" Joyce shouts into the phone. The dial tone goes off as she holds the phone to her ear in confusion.

She hangs up the phone and grabs a pack of cigarettes. She takes a lighter out of her back pocket and lights it with slightly shaking hands.

She takes a draw of it and sighs. She rubs her temples and looks about her Christmas light lit family room. The phone then rings which breaks the silence and makes Joyce flinch.

-"H-hello?" She says into the phone, not really knowing what to expect.

-"Hi Joyce this is Jenifer Harrington!" Mrs. Harrington greets her cheerfully, without a care in the world.

-"Oh hi Jenifer! So Steve told you about the sleep over!"..................

"Stella, Stella! Stella where are you?!"

Cried a tired and shivering Steve. His feet were sore, his was vision blurred due to the few tears that were shed, his breath shaky, and his voice hoarse from the previous shouting from before, in hopes of finding his lost sister.

He had been searching since five o'clock that evening. It was now eight, and still no sign of his sister. Four hours before, Mike and the rest of the boys left Stella's bike on the front porch. They rang the doorbell and left a note explaining where they had found it, and that Stella was not nearby.

He had looked everywhere. He practically tore the house apart. She just had to have been somewhere around here.

Steve glances at his watch which read a quarter to nine. He shakes his head and retreats back to his car feeling horrible.

He drives over to the police station and walks inside with a terrible feeling in his stomach.

-"How can I help you?" Asks Flo, immediately seeing the distraught look on Steve's face.

-"I need the chief."....................

STELLA HELD HER HEAD high with hope as she walked through the woods. She was headed for Castle Byers. It was the only place she knew of that she could stay without having to break into it. She tries her best to strong for herself and hopeful that she can find a way out.

What was Steve doing right now?

She wonders as she journeys through the horrible woods. Distractions from the situation at hand right now was her best friend. She learned pretty quickly that you had to be careful with every step you took because there were out of this world creatures lying all over the place.

After trekking through the woods for a good fifteen minutes, she almost screams in delight when Castle Byers comes into view. Her excitement vanishes when the blanket like flap moves on its own, with no help from the non-existing wind. She hides in some dead pine trees and watches the fort closely. She gulps and waits a few minutes before approaching it slowly. Each step towards the fort is taken with care and light feet. She pulls the flap aside and steps in. She scans the area for any "surprises" before settling in by taking off her backpack.

She yelps when she sees a dirty and sickly looking boy laying on the bed. He boy moans, and readjusts his sleeping position. Stella walks towards the boy and crouches down so that she's at his level. Her eyes go wide with so many different emotions going through them.

-"Will?!".................
