-"ANOTHER PARTY?" WAS THE first thing Stella asked her older brother when she got home from school.

-"Yes, and it'll be chill. I promise. Carol, Nancy, Tommy....."

-"Not Tommy! He's so annoying!" Stella groans as she grabs a bag of potato chips from the pantry.

-"He is not! So..... what are you gonna be doing tonight?" He asks while pouring me a cup of apple juice.

-"thanks for the juice, but I have no plans." I tell him truthfully.

"I'm gonna be doing homework I guess." I shrug whilst sipping.

-"Well, we'll be outside so...."

-"Is that beer?!" I point to a six pack, that one could tell, Steve tried so hard to hide.

-"Yeah, but we're responsible!" Steve says causally with a shrug.

-"Whatever you say," said a tried Stella, not really wanting to put up a fight. It wasn't necessary, and it wasn't like Steve was going to listen to her anyway.

The tween jogged lightly upstairs to her room. She glanced out her window and down at the pool below. That would be the most likely place for Steve and company to hang out.

A sharp knock on her door wakes her up from her little daydream of having her own parties when she got older.

"Come in," she calls out for Steve to enter.

He comes in and sits on her bed. He then pats a spot for her next to him. She takes a seat a studies his face. He exhales after running a hand through his hair.

-"So, I've been thinking about it, and, where were you last night?" He asks turning towards his younger sister.

-"I-I was...." Stella stutters in surprise. She thought Steve wouldn't have noticed.

-"No lies." The older sibling sees right through his sister.

-"I went to look for Will, ok. That's all you need to know." Stella mumbles quietly under her breath with a shrug. Her eyes dart back and forth between Steve and her window.

-"So you left the house?" Steve takes a stern tone.

-"Yeah, I guess." Stella replies with some sarcasm.

-"Just answer the question! Did you leave the house?" Steve raises his voice.
"And no attitude,"

-"Yes obviously I did. And I'm ok, so don't worry about it." Stella tries to calm him.

-"You know it rained."

-"A little rain is not going to hurt me Steve!" The girl rolls her eyes.

-"But you could've caught pneumonia! And at night! Really now Stella!" Steve crosses his arms over his chest as a stern look comes over his face.

-"I'm fine though!" Stella stands up from her bed a spins around.

"And you're not my mother!" She raises her pointer finger in the air to make her point as she exits her room to use the restroom.

-"I know, but someone's gotta watch the kids!" Steve answers whilst making his way downstairs to the kitchen.

Stella laughs to herself, and Steve does the same. Both knew that deep down inside that they love each other in a very brotherly, and sisterly way. They just had an odd way of showing it.

-"Hey Stella! Wanna come over? El's seen Will! Over." An excited Mike speaks into his walkie-talkie.

Before responding back, Stella glances over at her desk. It's filled with papers and school books. As much as she wanted to find Will, she had to do homework from yesterday and today.

-"Sorry, I'm got tons of homework you wouldn't believe it! I really do wanna help, but I can't tonight. I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Over." She responds, slightly disappointed that she took school so seriously, except History.

-"Ok, that's fine! Good studying! Over and out." She could hear slightly the forced tone lanced in Mike's seemingly happy voice.

She sighs before putting the antenna down. Whoops and hollers of excitement could be heard coming from downstairs. Stella sighs as she walks over to the stairs.

-"Could ya keep it quiet down there?! Tryna study up here!" She yells, earning only more noise in response.

She shakes her head and walks back over to her room again. After slamming her door shut, she sits down her chair and lets out a puff of air. She stares down at her History paper and then bangs her head on her desk out of boredom.

This was going to be a long night.

Laughter could be heard from down the hall as Stella tried to get some sleep. She tossed, turned, and groaned constantly knocking on closed doors to quiet people, having no problem with "interrupting" them abruptly with a sharp knock on the door.

It wasn't until nearly midnight until it was all quiet in the house. The fact that Stella chose homework over looking for Will bothered her. Would Will turn down the opportunity to look for her if she sent missing?

That's when she decided, the most dangerous decision she could've thought off. It was risky, so she sat up in her bed debating on whether she should do it or not. When her excitement over took her fear, she sprang up from her bed and started to dress for the occasion.

She threw on some whitewashed jeans, a white t-shirt, a gray hoodie, and a jean jacket vest. She twisted the sides of her hair back and then put in a ponytail. It was her signature look, and also helped keep the hair out of her face. She grabbed some gloves, a winter hat, and a flashlight.

After zipping her backpack up, Stella Harrington quickly, and quietly, tiptoes downstairs. She stops in the kitchen to grab an apple and crackers. After filling a water bottle, she silently opens the door to the mud room and slips on her white converse.

She takes one last look around the mud room before exiting her house through the side door. After letting herself out, she takes the spare key which is hidden under the mat, and locks the door.

Stella runs over to her bike which is parked in car port on the side of the house. She hops on the leather seat and takes off into the night, in hopes of finding her lost friend, Will Byers.

She tried not to be too loud when calling out his name, but how was he going hear her if she's wasn't yelling enough. She rode her bike down Mirkwood in silence, not wanting to make any noise yet. That is, until, she saw the "thing" up ahead.

A tall man looking figure stood up ahead from her. Stella let out a yelp of surprise and veered off of the road and into the woods. She feel off her bike with a thud, but that didn't stop her from jumping to her feet and taking off in pursuit away from the road. She was running so fast, that the wind started making weird sounds. Wait, that wasn't the wind. She turned around just in time to see the weird creature following her. A scream escaped her mouth, and she ran faster. She stopped and panted for breath when she reached a large tree. She looked around in fear, backing away from the sounds ahead of her.

It was a low growling type of sound. A hair raising, chills sent through your whole body type of growling.

The thing then jumped out of nowhere, scaring the heck out of the young girl who screamed so loud, that the thing had to scream louder. Stella hyperventilated as she continued to run, but the beast was quick and caught up.

In the midst of jumping over a log, the monster grabs Stella by the backpack, and just like that, she was gone.
