"Hey! I know at this moment you just want to pounce on top of me but you should have some control...", I tried pushing Rohan off me but he held me more tightly.

"I wish I could have complied to your request but I cant..."

"Rohan...", I called him with a fake warning in my voice.

"Anjali... you are so adorable...", he said with a smile.

"Adorable?", yes adorable. You are someone who can only grow up in years but will always remain a child at heart.

I dont know how to react at his direct insult to my womanhood, yet warmth filled my heart when he called me "adorable."

"Tell me how you have flied off to Berlin. What about the expenses?", I asked as a typical middle class wife would do, afterall I dont want Rohan to be bancrupted.

"Thats a suprise.."

"Please tell", I pouted my lips only to meet with Rohan's lips trying to move in sync with me.

"This is a buiseness trip."

"What!"

"Dont be so surprised. I have to stay here for two weeks. This is an extreme case of luck that my timing of departure has matched with yours."

"This means you will be with me on the return journey?"

"Yes.."

"I love you so... much.."

Being away from my husband for days makes me crave for his presence more than I ever wished for.

"What about some fun activities today?"

"Sure.. what can we do?"

"Boating in Lake Teģelersee", Rohan said with an amusement in his eyes.

"Wow!! This is indeed a very good idea.."

"We will go during the evening time when moonlight will fall over the water and make it shimmer in the dim light.."

"You are the besttttt husband in the world", I squealed in joy stressing on the 't'.

We lay in each other's arms looking at the setting sun.

I dressed up in a cute crop top and paired it up with jeans. Love is doing adventurous things with the person you love, I recalled the familiar quote.

"Ready?"

"Yes.."

"Lets go.."

The view of the lake was so mesmerising. The soft moonlight made the water glimmer. The lake was huge. My eyes only found water whereever it looked.

"Beautiful", I whispered under my breath.

"You too...", Rohan whispered in my ears.

"Come..with me", Rohan held me by my waist and helped me to step in the boat. As I placed my first foot the boat shaked a bit and I feared falling in the water.

"Dont be afraid, place your next foot and it wont shake."

I heaved a sigh of relief as I sat comfortably in the boat.

"Are you going to row the boat?"

"Yes.."

"We should take the help of a guide. You have never rowed a boat b-", Rohan placed his finger over my lips asking me to keep quiet.

"Dont worry.. I will take care of everything.."

I looked at him as he rowed the boat. The view of his muscles flexing with every movement of the oar assured me this must be a tedious work.

"Can I help?"

"In rowing the boat?", he questioned with disbelief in his eyes.

"Yes..."

"You can try", but dont do if you feel you are applying too much force, I dont want you to complain of wrist pain early in the morning.

As I held the oar and tried moving it I realised its very difficult and requires a lot of strength. I tried pushing the water with the oar so that the boat moves forward but all in vain, the boat hardly moved forward.

"Let me help you.."

With one hand supporting my shoulder, the other over my hand Rohan leaned forward. I could feel his breath on my skin as he tried to teach me.

"You are holding it inappropriately. Hold it tighter.."

Doesn't he know its inappropriate to be so close to someone while teaching them something? How can I concentrate when my eyes are more glued to the movement of his lips that the words coming out of them..!

"Are you listening Anjali..?"

"Yes.."

Within a few more trials I did it, I have learnt to row a boat.

"I love you so.. much!! I can row the boat now!"

"You are so adorable", he said with a smile.

A distant cry broke out thoughts as a lady cried for help.

"Give me the oar, we need to see why is she crying for help.."

As Rohan moved the boat forward towards the lady some more people had gathered around her.

"What happened?", Rohan enquired.

"Her two year old child has fell in the water."

"I am going to help. Can you row the boat Anjali?"

"Yes.. but..."

He didn't let me complete my sentence and ripped off his shirt in one go before jumping in the water. On one hand my heart swelled with pride at his selfless behaviour, on the other hand panic gripped me as I prayed for the safety of Rohan and the child.

Although the water was devoid of any movement but it had a strong current which could be felt just by dipping my hand in water.

Many questions flocked my mind.
Do water snakes live in lake water?
How much harm can swimming in cold water do?
Are there any deadly insects in lake water?

"ROHAN!" I called out of instinct. He didn't come out of water for a long time. Finally when I could see him I found him pushing the water with his strong arms in graceful butterfly strokes. And then again he wasn't visible. The child couldn't be found yet. I hope he is alive..

Again Rohan dipped deep inside the water and I felt agitated. I cant stay like this. I am going to help him.

I took a deep breath before plunging in the water. Sharp pain stung my body when the cold water hit me. I almost freaked out when I felt something hit my feet. Just a fish! Do fishes bite??I wanted to google but I had no time.

Then I concentrated and oriented myself. I rose to the surface sputtering. I took a deep breath and plunged again. Soon my body got accustomed to the cold water. I wiped the water off my face and searched for Rohan and the child.

"Rohan?", I called for him but got no response.

I swam a mixture of back stroke, front   crawl, breaststroke and occassionally butterfly to swim faster.

"Anjali?"

Happiness filled me when the familiar voice touched my ears.

"The child?"

"Not yet found.."

Together we plunged into the water again. The lake is huge and twenty minutes has passed. Will we found him alive?

"He is here..", someone yelled.

We swam together towards the voice. "Take him to the hospital! He is alive."
The child was almost blue and a few more minutes of delay would have killed him.

I wanted to kiss Rohan and tell him how proud I am of him..

He looked at me under the moonlight. His eyes shined and his gaze filled with love.

"Lets go back..", I said but Rohan paid no heed. I felt comfort swiming in the unknown with Rohan. Warmth spread in my body under the intensity of his gaze. His fingers traced my skin from the top of my arm to the tip of my fingers. He pulled me closer to him and placed his cold hands on my waist. I crashed onto him as he pulled me closer and placed his soft, wet lips over mine. Why does every kiss feels like the first kiss with Rohan?

He kissed me slowly and then intensely till we were out of breaths. "Lets go back..", he said.

We swam hand in hand. When I mounted on the boat my clothes clung onto me like plaster. Rohan removed a strand of wet hair off my face.
"You look beautiful.."

I know I look awful with the pink lipstick rubbed off by the water and my wrinkled akin for staying in water so long.

"I love you.."

The three magical words sounded more magical under the moonlit sky, the water around us and the coldness of our bodies mingled with the warmth of our hearts.

Love is the most magical thing in this world..
