Eight Months Later.

"I just have one request." My dad starts, turning to me, just the two of us in the room. "Don't abandon me now that you've found a new man that you want to spend the rest of your life with."

"Dad?" I question, wondering what on Earth he's banging on about. "What do you mean?"

"I remember when I picked you up from school and I had to take you straight to the hospital to visit your mum before she had her first set of treatments." He starts to explain, and I remember the exact day he's on about in great detail. "You were so scared, and I held you in my arms and told you everything was going to be alright. Then you smiled at me and said that you knew everything was going to be alright because I was by your side."

"I remember." I tell him with a soft smile. "I told you that I wanted to spend every single day with you by my side, because that way I'd never live a bad day in my life."

"And now you have James to do that for you," he tells me, looking me in the eyes. "And I'm so glad you've found him, but I'm still here, whenever you need me."

"I know dad, thank you." And I wrap my arms around him, part of me not wanting to let go. Because in just a few minutes, he'll be giving me away, so that I can start a new adventure with the love of my life.

"It's time." Asher says, walking into the room, breaking up the hug. Then my other two bridesmaids make their way into the room too. "Are you ready?"

And there's no hesitation when I tell her, "Yes."

Jodie and Isabelle, an old friend of mine from school, walk down the aisle first, catching everyone's attention as they walk hand in hand with two of James' groomsmen; Kyle and Jude. Next down the aisle are Asher and Taylor, probably wondering if this will be like their wedding day, which will be taking place in just two months time. Then the music changes, and I know that this is my cue, so I take a deep breath, link arms with my father, pick up my bouquet of flowers, and start walking down the aisle.

I look around at all my friends and family that have come here to help celebrate our wedding day, and it takes everything in me to keep myself from crying, knowing that I have so many people that care so much about my happiness. I lay eyes on my ma and nonna, with Luca held in my nonna's arms, and Sofia sat by their side. My perfect little family, now about to get even bigger. I look across to where James' sisters and mother are sat, along with Richard and little Bella, they're going to be my family too.

But then, I stop looking around at our guests, and look at the one person that matters the most. My James. And the expression on his face forces a small tear to escape my right eye, he looks so in love, as if he's the lucky one here when in reality it's the complete opposite. I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have found a man like him, and I genuinely couldn't be happier. I reach the alter and give my dad a kiss on the cheek before turning my attention back to the love of my life.

And every single thing the priest says fades away, I'm not even listening, all I can seem to focus on is James' eyes. Then he whispers to me 'I love you', causing a smile to instantly appear on my face before whispering back, "I love you too."

And before I know it, the priest is asking us to recite our vows, which we decided to write ourselves. And it's James that has to go first. He takes a look at my nonna, then brings his attention back to me, which confuses me a little. What does my nonna know that I don't? But when he starts to speak, I understand, " La mia splendida, Violetta." (My gorgeous Violetta) Now I understand, my nonna taught him Italian so he could say them to me in my first language. Just like how he did back when we were in the villa, when Riccardo taught him a few phrases. "Quando ero più giovane, mi è stato detto che ci sono alcune persone nella nostra vita con cui ci colleghiamo, e che siamo destinati ad incontrarle se hai il coraggio di seguire il tuo cuore." (When I was younger, I was told that there are some people in our lives with whom we connect, and that we are destined to meet them if you dare to follow your heart.) I giggle a little at what he's saying, his pronunciation is a little off, but it's so adorable that he's done this for me. "E ho avuto la fortuna di trovare te, la ragazza dei miei sogni. E prometto di non smettere mai di amarti fino al giorno in cui morirò. Perché tu sei la cosa più importante della mia vita, e lo sei stato fin dal giorno in cui ti ho incontrato. " (And I was lucky enough to find you, the girl of my dreams. And I'll never stop loving you until my dying day. Because you're the most important thing in my life, and you have been since the day I met you.) He gets a few words wrong here, but I don't care, there's a certain charm to it which makes me love him even more, even though I didn't know that was possible.

"And now," he starts, changing back to English, "My promise to you, Sofia." He gestures for Sofia to come up to the alter, and she does so, and he crouches down, taking her hands in his. "I promise to love your mum forever and always, but I will love you just as much. I promise to be the best dad I can be, if you'll let me."

She doesn't answer, she just nods her head and gives him a hug before running back to her seat. "Violetta, your vows please." The priest says, indicating that it's now my turn.

Asher steps forward, handing me a piece of paper with my vows written on it. I look at the paper, then at my family, then tell her that I don't need it. I turn back to James and smile, impulsively decided to improvise my wedding vows, just speaking from my heart. "James, my family have always been the most important thing in my life, I love them with all my heart; but I've always felt like something was missing. Then I met you and realised that you were that thing that was missing from my life, you make my family complete." I stop for a moment, not being able to contain my smile, "every moment I spend with you, I find myself smiling wider than I ever thought I could. I will love you until every anagram and egg has been unscrambled." This causes him to chuckle, my little reference to how he would make me scrambled eggs almost every morning for breakfast to make sure I started the day with a smile on my face. "I promise to love you as we grow older, which has just happened, and has happened again. And our love will never fade with time because you're my soulmate, which is something I never believed in until I met you. And I can't thank you enough for this extraordinary life you have given me, and that we will share together from this day until forevermore."

The rest of the ceremony continues without a glitch, and we finally reach the moment we've all been waiting for. "I know pronounce you husband and wife." The priest announces, "you may kiss the bride."

James places his arms round my waist, a soft smile on his face as he looks me in the eye, then down to my lips, then back to my eyes again. I reach my hands up to his face, one hand resting on his cheek, the other placed on his upper arm. And at last, we kiss - slowly, passionately, deeply.

And behind us everyone erupts into applause but I don't care, all I care about is the man standing in front of me. The man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. And words can't even begin to express how happy I am to call myself his wife. We finally did it, we beat the odds and fought for our love, proving that true love isn't as hard to find as everyone says, you just have to be open to it, and never let go of it when you find it. No matter how difficult things may get.
