We get downstairs and Dougie is evidently very angry. And he gets angrier the minute he sees me. "You." He yells, "You want to ruin everything good in my life, don't you."

"Woah Dougie, calm down." James says, standing between Dougie and I so that he doesn't hurt me. "Violetta's done nothing wrong here, don't take your anger out on her."

"He's right." Hannah says, no longer that shy young thing that she used to be back when we first arrived in the villa a year ago. "This is about you and everything you've done wrong. You've changed Dougie, and you don't even see it."

"How about I drive you to your hotel?" Taylor suggests, which seems to upset Asher. "I think you two could do with a bit of space for a while, there's no good in ruining the evening for the rest of us."

"Good idea." Kyle acts whilst everyone else remains silent. "I'll go with you, make sure there's no issues."

The two men escort Dougie out of our house, much to his dissapointment. I think Dougie was planning on staying here for a while longer, shouting at everyone in his way. "I'm sorry Vee, I didn't mean for him to get so angry at you."

"It's fine, Hannah, you've done nothing wrong." I reassure her, making my way towards her and enclosing her in a hug. "You're better off without him."

"Then why does it hurt so much?" She asks, but I know there's nothing I can say. "Love is cruel."

"No." I instantly say, not wanting her to think that love is a hopeless endeavour. "Love isn't cruel, people are cruel. There's a difference."

I feel her nod her head as she's hugging me, letting me know that she believes me. And as quick as a flash a lot of the other girls are joining in on our hug, showing her their support.

I wiggle my way free; as much as I want to be there for her when she needs me, there's something much more important that I need to do. "You okay?" James asks as I approach me, encasing me in his arms, making me feel safe and sound like always. And I wonder how he makes it so easy to make me feel like nothing's wrong in the world. I nod my head as I hug him, causing him to carry on talking. "I'm sorry that Dougie went after you, you didn't deserve that."

"It's not like it's your fault, why are you the one apologising?" I ask with a small smile on my face, looking up at him. "You literally stood between us so that nothing would happen, I knew everything would be okay. It always is when you're around."

"Good." He replies with a small chuckle, then hugs me a little tighter, and it feels like he doesn't want to ever let go.

So with my head resting on his chest, I tell him, "yes."

"Yes?" He questions, pulling away from our embrace so that he can look at me. "What do you mean?"

I can't help but smile at him as I explain, "yes, I'll marry you." And his face instantly lights up before he places a kiss on my lips. The kiss doesn't last very long though because neither of us can stop ourselves from smiling.

"Here." He says, digging out the ring box once more, then places the ring on my finger; and it's absolutely beautiful. I've never seen anything quite like it in my life. "Perfect."

I look at the ring before looking back up at him, "I love you so much, James." I whisper to him before kissing him again.

But just like that I realise where we are, but more importantly, who we're surrounded by. I look around, and everyone is still distracted by Hannah, so our private moment can remain private. For now, at least.

Finally, Taylor and Kyle return to the house. But it's so late that everyone else has left. We already arranged for Asher, Taylor, Jodie and Kyle to stay round till tomorrow, but now Hannah is staying here too. I think it's probably not the best idea for her to be alone tonight, she should be with her friends. "There you are." Jodie yells as the boys walk through the door."

"Sorry it took so long." Kyle apologises, looking absolutely defeated. "Dougie really didn't want to be left in that hotel. But we managed it eventually."

"What? Two strong men like you can't handle him?" Asher jokes, walking over to Taylor and giving him a quick peck on the check. "I think I've overestimated your strength."

"Yeah." Jodie adds smugly, "I think all these muscles are just for show."

And just like that, the two boys exchange a look before turning to their girlfriend and picking them up, launching them over their shoulder like a fireman. "What was that about being weak?" Kyle asks as Jodie hangs upside down over his shoulder, laughing like a lunatic.

"Alright, I take it back." She laughs before being let back down to the ground, but Asher is still in the air.

"Taylor!" She squeals, "put me down, I'm wearing a dress."

"You should have thought about that before you insulted my strength." He tells her with a grin, even though she can't see it.

"Fine, I was wrong." She says, then playfully punches him on the arm when her feet return to the floor.

"I never thought I'd hear those words come out of your mouth." Taylor jokes, making us all laugh. I could watch these guys all day, they're just so hilarious, and you can tell that they're all so in love with each other. It's beautiful really.

"Right," Asher starts, adjusting her dress, "now that you two are back can we please address the elephant in the room?"

I wonder what she's getting at. I hope she's not on about the fact that Hannah's here, because I'd hate to draw attention to what happened tonight. "What are you on about now, Asher?"

"Oh come on, don't play dumb." She sighs, but the smile quickly returns. "I'm your best friend, do you really think I wouldn't notice that massive rock on your finger?"

I giggle and lift up my left hand, looking at my new engagement ring. "So you figured it out, huh?"

"It's pretty hard to miss." Asher exclaims, then pulls me into a hug. "Congratulations you two, I'm so happy for you."

"Well I didn't notice." Jodie whines, "I feel like a terrible friend now." And before I know it she's hugging me too.

"It just happened tonight." I tell her, "and with all the drama I don't blame you for not noticing, don't worry." I laugh, not caring that she didn't notice.

So we spend the rest of the night celebrating; just me, my fiancé, and my best friends. Just as it should be. And I'm so thankful for every single person in this room. If my dad never signed me up for Love Island a year ago, I would never be engaged, I wouldn't have the most amazing friends in the world, and I wouldn't be nearly as happy as I am today.

I genuinely feel like the luckiest girl in the world; which is saying a lot considering that once upon a time I saw myself as the unluckiest girl in the world. It's funny how things change just like that, and all because of a TV show. Who says that Love Island couples don't work in the real world? Because there's three couples in this room right now and a whole lot of love, not just in relationships but in friendships too.
