"What's this?" I asked as Ethan walked up at my locker with a wad of cash. "Money. Take it." He answered making me frown as I closed my locker.

"No." I replied sternly making him frown in confusion. "I don't need your money." I answered before I looked hesitantly at the people around us. "Yes, you do. You've said that you have money problems and you just lost one of your jobs." Ethan said making me shake my head.

"It isn't your problem, Ethan. I can handle it myself." I stated before I started walking to class. "It's from the gun I sold. Just take it." He replied next to me making me frown as I contemplated it. I stopped in the middle of the hallway as people passed us. After a few seconds I doubtedly took it from his hand. "Only because it's from Ian's gun." I said sternly making him shove his hands in his jacket pockets as he nodded.

The bell rang making me shove the cash in my book bag. "I'll see you later." I stated before I left him to continue walking to class.

'Meet me in the library.' I texted Ethan as the school bell rang telling us school was over. I sent the message as soon as someone ran into me making me stumble backwards. "Oh, sorry." I said as I started to help her pick up her books and papers. "No worries. I should have seen where I was going." She replied as we stood up making me hand back her things.

"You're Amelia, right? I'm new here." She said making me smile softly. "People don't say such great things about you." She continued sadly making me roll my eyes.

"I'm not surprised." I answered annoyed making her smile weakly. "They warned me about you saying you're rude and mean to everyone. And how a guy named Ethan pays you for blowjobs." She gossiped making my lips part. "Among other things but they just seem like rumors." She said making me scoff. "They all are." I replied as I started walking to the library.

"What took you so long?" Ethan groaned in annoyance as he leaned against the window of the library making me roll my eyes. "They are closed." He stated as I walked up to him making me frown.

"They are never closed." I stated as I looked through the glass making him chuckle. "Of course, you would know." Ethan teased as I pulled away making me fight my smile. "We can try tomorrow." I said as we started walking down the hall. "Why can we just go to your house?" He asked making me roll my eyes.

"Why can't we go to your house?" I replied making him chuckle weakly. "You don't want to go to my house." Ethan stated making me smile up at him as he opened the door for me to leave.

"How do you know what I want?" I asked as I stood in front of him as he continued to hold the door open. "My parents will be home." He stated making me chuckle as I finally walked through the door.

"We are friends I think me meeting your parents is bound to happen." I stated as he tensed slightly as we continued walking to our cars. "It's fine we can just go to my house." I said softly not wanting to make him uncomfortable before he quickly replied.

"What? No, sorry. I-It's okay we can go to my place." Ethan rambled as he looked down at me making me nod. "I'll drive us." He continued as he walked around to the driver's side of his car.

I slide into his car before he left the school. We drove in silence as hometown by cleopatrick played on his radio before he spoke.

"I just want to apologize in advance for my sister. She will want to know everything about you." Ethan said making me laugh lightly. "It'll be fine. Stop stressing." I teased as I noticed his worry and tension the whole time he drove.

"Yeah." He breathed out before we were met with the familiar comfortable silence. "This is your house?" I asked softly as we got out of his car making him shrug. "You never said you were rich." I stated as I stared up at the large white home in front of me. There was a set of steps in front of us with two large columns on each side.

"I'm not. My parents are." Ethan stated making me look up at him. His features were filled with worry and stress making me frown in confusion. Before I could ask him what was wrong, he took my bag and started walking up the steps.

I quickly followed him as he opened the door making me look around the room. To the left of us there was a living room with an attached room further inside making my lips part.

On the other side of me there was the large dining room that could easily seat ten people. Before I could inspect further Ethan grabbed my hand to start walking up the stairs until someone stopped him.

"Ethan! Is that you?" A woman beamed from in the kitchen making him groan. "Yes." He replied before the woman walked out the kitchen towards us.

She was surprised to see me but masked it with a wide fake smile. "Oh, hello." Ethan's Mother said making me smile back. "We're here to study." He explained making her face etch with even more shock.

"O-Oh. Okay. Your Father should be home soon." She said to him before he continued pulling me up the steps making me frown. "I-It was nice to meet you." I stated trying to smile but failing as his grip tightened.

After we started walking down a long hallway, he opened his bedroom door and finally let go of my hand. My hand instantly missed his warmth and touch but I shrugged it off as I spoke.

"Geez, what was that all about?" I asked as he tossed my bag on his bed. "Sorry." Ethan breathed as he raked his fingers through his hair making me frown in worry.

"I can leave if this makes you uncomfortable. I was just joking-" I started until he interrupted me. "No, it's not you it's them. I'm fine." He stated looking at me intensely making me nod hesitantly.

"O-Okay. Well, I guess we should actually study then." I said making him chuckle lightly as he started to ease. "Have you read 'Macbeth' before?" I asked as I sat on his bed to take out my books and binder.

"No, they speak fucking weird. I get the gist of it from the movies." Ethan said as he sat across from me making me roll my eyes. "You still have to read it." I stated making him chuckle lightly.

"How many times have you read it?" He asked amused making me look away from him. "You're going to make fun of me." I stated making him laugh. "No, I won't." Ethan said making me look up at him as he smiled down at me. "I promise." He continued making me roll my eyes as I looked away again.

"Six times." I answered under my breath making me look up at him annoyed as he laughed. "You said you wouldn't make fun!" I whined as I shoved his shoulder making him stop slightly.

"You're right. I just didn't expect that number of times." Ethan confessed through his smile making me fill with warmth. "Do you want to pass or continue making fun of me?" I asked in fake annoyance making him chuckle.

"I'd rather keep making of you." He stated making me fight my smile as I looked down at my binder. I was about to reply when the door burst open making me jump slightly.

"Mom said you brought home a girl! I wish I was here to meet you, but I was at school." Ethan's sister said to me making me smile. "Sarah, get out." Ethan said in annoyance making her ignore him as she continued.

"What's your name? I'm Sarah, obviously." She stated through a smile making me chuckle. "Amelia." I answered making her smile wider.

"How did you two meet? Do you go to his school?" Sarah asked again making me nod. "Yeah." I replied not answering how we met.

"Sarah." Ethan warned as he noticed she was about to ask another question. She rolled her eyes before she spoke. "Okay, okay." She said as she walked towards the door.

"Open or closed?" Sarah teased through a smile as she held on the doorknob making my cheeks turn warmer. Ethan threw a pillow at her before she shut the door making it slide down the door.

"She's so annoying." He groaned making me chuckle lightly. "She seems nice." I stated making Ethan roll his eyes.

"While Duncan is asleep, Macbeth stabs him, despite his doubts and a number of supernatural portents, including a vision of a bloody dagger." I explained as I pointed to the questions on his homework.

"When Duncan's death is discovered the next morning, Macbeth kills the chamberlains, ostensibly out of rage at their crime and easily assumes the kingship. Duncan's sons, Malcolm and Donalbain, flee to England and Ireland. But he is fearful of the witches' prophecy that Banquo's heirs will seize the throne, Macbeth hires a group of murderers to kill Banquo and his son Fleance. They ambush Banquo on his way to a royal feast, but they fail to kill Fleance, who escapes into the night. Macbeth-" I continued until he interrupted me.

"Can we take a break. We have been working for hours." Ethan whined making me chuckle lightly. "Fine." I replied as I pulled away from his homework.

"Do I get food for helping you?" I asked as I felt my stomach rumble lightly. "Fine. Let's go." He answered through his smile as he sat up making me follow him as we walked downstairs.

I walked behind him as I saw his parents and Sarah in the kitchen talking. They stopped once they saw us making his Mother give me another fake smile.

"Hello. You must be Amelia." His Father said making me nod with a slight smile. "I'm Victor and my wife, Cynthia." He said making me smile wider as I replied.

"It's nice to meet you all." I said as I noticed the resemblance between Ethan and his Father. "Do you know what we do?" Victor asked making me frown slightly in confusion.

"Lawyers, right?" I asked hesitantly making him smile down at me. "We'll be upstairs." Ethan said as he grabbed my hand as he walked away making me roll my eyes at his behavior.

"They seem nice." I stated as he threw snacks on the bed making him grow silent. He opened a bag of chips as I checked my phone making me realize I never told Ian where I was. "Shit." I breathed out as I saw his missed calls and texts. "What's wrong?" Ethan asked with his mouth full making me shake my head lightly.

"Ian's freaking out. I forgot to tell him I was going to study with you after school." I answered as I read all Ian's texts.

'Hey, where are you?'

'I'm home. Are you at work?'

'Hello?'

'Should I be worried?' Ian texted about an hour ago making me sigh as I replied to him.

"Don't your parents get worried also?" Ethan asked as I put my phone in my bag. "They are never home." I replied not exactly lying making him nod as he continued to eat.

After a few more hours of studying and chatting, he drove me back to school where my car was. It was now dark outside as I stared out the window.

"So apparently you are good at English, science and history. What can't you do?" Ethan asked amused making me chuckle as I looked away from the window. "Math. And I can't ride a bike." I stated making him smile as he drove.

"What? Everyone can ride a bike." He stated making me roll my eyes. "Not-" I started until a car crashed into us. My ears rung as I shoved the air bag out of my face. My heart beat out of my chest as if it was about to explode before I felt someone's hand on my shoulder making me jump.

"Amelia. Are you okay?" Ethan asked as if he had asked me multiple times before making me nod lightly before he got out of the car. I sat there listening to my heartbeat in my ears as my hands shook as I lifted my fingers to the cuts on my face.

"What the fuck?!" Ethan beamed to the other man making me snap from my thoughts. "There was a fucking stop sign!" He continued before memories of my parents flooded my mind.

"Just leave me alone." I groaned to Ian before I heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it." I said as I walked down their stairs.

"Hi, can I help you?" I asked noticing their police uniforms instantly making me nervous. "Are you Amelia and Ian?" One of the officers asked making me nod as I realized Ian was behind me.

"May we please come inside?" They asked making me nod hesitantly before I opened the door wider for them. "There was a car accident involving your parents. Another car hit them at an intersection." The officer said as we all sat down making my lips part in confusion.

"We're sorry to inform you that your parents died in the accident."

"Amelia." Ethan said snapping me out of my memories. "Are you okay?" He asked softly making me nod as I noticed there was a tow truck backing up in front of the car.

I hesitantly got out of the car as I realized I have been crying as I felt the cold air hit my face. I quickly wiped my hot tears away as Ethan stared down at me in worry and confusion.

"I need to call Ian." I said finally as I pulled my phone from my back pocket. I turned away from Ethan as tears continued to fall.

"Hey, where are you?" Ian asked as he picked up making another tear fall. "Ethan and I were in an accident. I'm fine please don't worry. We are both fine." I assured as I wiped my tears away.

"Are you sure? Where are you? Do you have a ride?" He asked quickly making me rake my fingers through my hair as I felt small shards of glass. "Lucas is on his way." Ethan answered as he heard Ian's questions making me nod lightly.

"Yes, Ethan's friend is on his way. I'll be home as soon as I can." I answered him as he stayed silent for a few seconds. "Are you sure you're okay?" Ian asked again softly making me clear my throat not wanting to let out a sob.

"I'll be home soon." I replied before I hung up and shoved my phone in my pocket. "He was fucking texting." Ethan growled as the other man talked to the two officers. I quickly shoved off my feelings remembering the last time I saw two policemen.

"What an idiot." I mumbled as I wiped off my remanding tears staining my face. "Are you okay?" Ethan asked again after a few minutes of silence making me nod.

"Yes." I lied sternly with no emotion making him look down at me to study me. He was about to reply when a familiar black car drove up making me realize it was Lucas.

"Are you two okay?" He asked as he got out of the car making Ethan nod as I stayed silent. "Yeah. Luckily he wasn't driving too fast." He replied making Lucas look over to the man to crashed into us.

"Drunk?" He asked him making Ethan shake his head. "Texting." Ethan answered nonchalantly making me feel weak at how I was reacting to the accident.

"Can I go home?" I asked them making Ethan nod. "Yeah. I already gave them my statement." He answered before we started walking to the car.

Every step I took I felt like I was about to fall against the pavement from my shaking legs. Ethan opened the passenger door for me before an overwhelming feeling of nausea flooded me making me rush to the side of the road.

I instantly vomited as I leaned my palm against a tree. I continued until I felt someone's palm on my back making me ease at his familiar warmth.
