(Amelia's Halloween dress shown above.)

Ethan and I have been studying all day until Sarah walked in on us. "It's time to get ready. It's six o'clock." She said to us making me nod as I started putting my books away.

"We need an hour to get ready?" I asked as I walked towards her making Sarah chuckle. "Yes." She chirped making me laugh lightly as I closed Ethan's bedroom door behind me.

"So, you guys really have been studying?" She asked as we walked into her bedroom making me frown in confusion. "Yes. What did you think we were doing?" I asked making her laugh as she shrugged lightly.

"Not studying." Sarah replied making my cheeks fill with warmth at the thought. "You can borrow my makeup." She said as she sat down at her vanity tapping on the chair next to her for me to sit.

"I only know the basics." I stated as I hesitantly looked around at all the makeup brushes and eyeshadow pallets. "Oh, okay. Just do what you'd normally do, and I'll help after." Sarah said making me nod as I picked up her mascara.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" She asked me after a few seconds of silence. "No. I'm not very well liked at school." I stated through a smile making her frown.

"Why not? You don't seem very mean." Sarah stated making me chuckle lightly. "Only because I like you. Everyone at school is annoying and don't understand my sarcasm." I explained making her nod lightly as she applied a light coat of foundation.

"You don't have many friends?" She asked making me shake my head lightly as I finished putting on mascara. "I like being alone." I stated as I started filling in my eyebrows.

"Well, now you have me. And I will be alone with you." Sarah said making me smile as I filled with warmth at her kindness. "Do you have a boyfriend?" I asked her making her smile as her cheeks turned a light shade of pink.

"Yes. Tyler. He is going to be here soon you can meet him." Sarah said making me smile again. "How long have you been dating?" I asked making her light up as she started to apply eyeshadow.

"Almost three months. Ethan absolutely hates him and so does Daniel. Hopefully they will come around soon." She said making me chuckle softly. "I'm sure they will." I assured making her roll her eyes playfully.

"Do you have any siblings?" Sarah asked as I started putting on concealer. "Yes, my brother, Ian." I answered making her laugh lightly.

"So, you understand. Does your brother hate the guys you bring home?" She asked making me frown as I stopped blending the concealer. "No. I don't bring home guys. And we aren't as close as we used to be." I explained making her nod sympathetically.

"How did you learn to bake? I have always wanted to learn but all the maids do everything for us. It gets old." Sarah said changing the subject making me smile weakly.

"My mother taught me. I can teach you if you want." I said making her face light up. "I would love that, thank you!" She beamed making me chuckle as I nodded.

After she finished with her makeup, she helped me with my own. "Oh, wow. You actually did a good job. Are you sure you only know the basics?" Sarah asked through a smile as she started applying eyeshadow to my eyes.

"I promise." I teased making her chuckle before she pulled away. "You can use this. Don't worry it's new I haven't used it." She said as she handed me a nude mate dark pink lipstick.

"Thank you for letting me borrow your things." I said as I finished applying the lipstick making her smile at my reflection. "Of course! That's what friends are for." Sarah said making me smile as she pulled out a curling iron.

I smiled at my reflection loving the simple makeup I applied to my face. The eyeshadow Sarah helped me with was a beautiful mix of a dark and soft brown tones making my eyes pop.

"Are you natural?" She asked me as she started curling my hair making me nod. "I'm jealous. Your hair is so pretty." Sarah confessed making me chuckle as she continued.

"I'm not. Obviously seeing as how no one in my family has black hair." She joked making me smile in her reflection behind me. "It suits you." I replied making her smile as she continued curling my dirty blonde hair.

After what felt like half an hour, she finally finished my hair making me shake from my thoughts as she spoke. "All done!" Sarah beamed making me look up at me reflection.

My hair was nicely put in a messy low bun. It was elegant enough for my dress but not too over the top making me smile at her skills.

"It looks great. Thank you." I said in awe as I continued to look in the mirror. "My turn." She said through a smile as she shoved me lightly making me chuckle.

As she curled her hair, I slid into my dress I picked. I smiled as I realized it fit like a glove. I ran my palms down my waist to even it out before Sarah spoke.

"That looks amazing on you, Amelia." She said as she raked me up and down making me smile as I continued to feel the dress under my palms. "Thank you." I breathed out before I walked over to her bed.

After we both finished getting ready, we made our way downstairs. I realized the whole house was packed with people and caterers. They walked around holding trays of food as people dressed in Victorian all the way to the late twentieth century costumes.

I started walking down the staircase with Sarah right behind me as I tried looking for Ethan. Midway down I found him staring up at me from across the room making me smile at him.

He wore a tight fitted black suit with a tan tie and pocket square making me realize Sarah told him what colors the dress was. I continued to stare across to him before someone walked up to us as we finished walking down the staircase.

"Hey, baby." A man said to Sarah before she kissed him making me realize this was Tyler. "This is Amelia. Amelia, this is my boyfriend Tyler." Sarah said making me smile up at him. My smile quickly wiped away as my eyes widened in fear recognized him from that horrible night.

My lips parted as he smirked down at me. "It's nice to meet you." He said to me full of power making me open and close my mouth like a fish out of water. I was about to reply when Ethan walked up to us.

"You too." I replied as I mustered up the courage to reply. "I need a drink." I muttered before I walked away from them.

I pushed through the crowd until I was met with the bar in the living room. "Can I have a water please?" I asked the bartender making him nod as he handed me a water bottle.

I quickly drank the whole thing before Ethan walked up to me. "What's wrong?" He asked me as I looked over at Tyler grabbing Sarah's bottom as they kissed.

"Nothing." I lied not wanting to ruin their party. "Just nerves." I continued making him nod as I looked away from Tyler.

"You have no reason to be nervous." Ethan said to me as he took a step closer making me smile weakly. "You look great by the way." He said in a deep voice in my ear as he leaned down.

"So, do you." I replied as he pulled away making him smirk down at me before someone walked up to us. "Amelia, you look beautiful." Cynthia said to me making me smile at her and Victor.

They both wore 1950's fashion making me smile as I spoke. "Thank you. So do you." I replied looking down at her dark blue gown. It had three-quarter length sleeves and a boat neckline.

"Your home looks beautiful." I said as I looked around at all the decorations making her smile. "I'm glad you think so. Feel free to have anything you want from the bar. I know you kids drink at other parties. No more than three." She said the last part to Ethan making him roll his eyes as chuckled softly.

"I'll watch him." I teased making her chuckle before they walked away towards their friends. I fidgeted with my black gloves that ended at my elbows as Daniel walked up to us.

"Amelia, right?" He asked making me nod as he raked me up and down. "Daniel." He said as he stretched his hand out making me shake it.

"Have you seen Lucas?" Daniel asked Ethan making him nod. "He went upstairs with some girl." Ethan answered making Daniel roll his eyes.

"Why am I surprised?" He said full of annoyance as he asked the bartender for a drink. "How did Tyler and Sarah meet?" I asked them as I saw them talking across the room.

"Work." Ethan said making me frown as I looked up at him. "What does he do?" I asked making him smile down at me.

"I thought you didn't want to know what we do?" He asked making me frown further. "He works with you?" I asked as I looked over to Tyler again.

"Yes. Why?" Daniel asked making me shake my head as I tore my eyes away from him again. "Just wondering." I answered barely above a whisper making them look at me hesitantly.

"I need air." I stated before I started walking towards the sliding glass doors. "Are you sure you are okay?" Ethan said to me as I felt him grab my hand.

"Yes. I just couldn't breathe in there." I answered as we walked outside. I instantly relaxed as I felt the cold nights air against my skin.

It was just as much crowded in the backyard as it was inside. It was mostly full of small children as they played.

"I never knew you wanted to be a teacher." Ethan said to me making me look up at him. I realized we were still holding hands making me pull away before I replied.

"You never asked." I said through smile making him roll his eyes. "Why don't you like Tyler?" I asked after a few minutes if silence making him shrug lightly as he sat on the wooden rocking bench behind us.

"Just gives me a weird vibe. He doesn't even try to get to know us and he isn't afraid of showing their PDA in front of us. I dont know, it's just weird." Ethan answered as I sat beside him. I just hummed in reply as I bowed my head not knowing what to say.

I fumbled with my fingers as I heard giggling from the children in the yard making me smile softly. "I wouldn't peg you for someone who likes children." He confessed making me roll my eyes as I tried to fight my smile.

"I adore them." I confessed as I looked up at them playing. "Do you want children of your own?" Ethan asked making me shrug lightly as I looked back down at my hands.

"Maybe one day." I answered honestly making him hum in reply. "Is there food? I'm starving." I stated as I sat up wanting to leave the conversation making him chuckle.

We walked back into the party when one of the caterers walked up to us. "No, thank you." I said to him as I saw the food wasn't something I recognized.

After he walked away Ethan chuckled behind me making me roll my eyes as I continued walking. "Don't you guys have real food?" I asked him discreetly making him continue before he replied. "Yes, I ordered a pizza when my Mom wasn't looking." Ethan said as I followed him into the kitchen.

As soon as we walked in the maids and cooks stood straighter making me frown before they left the room.

"I didn't know what you liked so I just got cheese and peperoni." Ethan said to me as he pulled them from on top of the fridge making me chuckle. "Thanks." I said as I took off my gloves and he placed the carton in front of us.

"Do you have ranch dressing?" I asked with my mouth full not caring if it was unlady like. "I didn't know anyone else did that." Ethan confessed as I placed dressing on my pizza making me smile lightly.

"Ian thinks it's disgusting. But what does he know?" I said making him chuckle before we continued eating.

Lucas walked into the kitchen making us both look up at him. His tie was loosened as his hair was disheveled making me roll my eyes lightly.

"You holding out on me?" Lucas asked Ethan as he grabbed a slice of pizza making Ethan roll his eyes. "Where have you been?" He asked Lucas making him smirk before he took a large bite.

"Ashley." He replied before I turned around to wash my hands. Lucas walked beside me making me frown before he took out a bottle of vodka from the cabinet.

"Is that really such a good idea?" I asked him as he took a swig of it making me frown. "When has vodka ever been a bad idea?" Lucas replied as handed it to me to take a drink.

"Always." I replied making him roll his eyes before he left the kitchen. "We should go. My Mom will be looking for us soon." Ethan said to me making me nod as I put my gloves back on.

We left after he put the pizza in the fridge before we were met with a man and woman who quickly walked up to Ethan.

"Ethan! How are you?" The older man beamed making Ethan smile weakly. "Well. You?" Ethan replied before the couple looked over at me with a smile.

"Is this your girlfriend? About time you find someone. Don't you look... lovely." The man said as he raked me up and down making me look away feeling uncomfortable. "Yes." Ethan answered as he grabbed my hand making me frown as I looked up at him.

I was about to deny it when the older man spoke again. "Lucky you. I'd say something. The guys here can't stop talking about your mystery woman." He said to Ethan as if I wasn't here making me frown in annoyance.

"It was nice seeing you." Ethan replied before we walked away hand in hand making me pull away. "Why did you say we were dating?" I asked as we continued walking making him grab my arm before pulling me into a hallway.

I was about to protest when he cut me off. "Just pretend. Just for tonight." He pleaded as he looked down at me making me frown. "Why? We are just friends." I replied making him sigh as he moved away.

"Yes, I know. You have made that painfully clear." Ethan spit under his breath making me frown in confusion. "What is that-" I started until Daniel walked up to us.

"Lucas is waisted upstairs." He mumbled to Ethan making him look away from me. He groaned in annoyance as he tried walking past Daniel to help Lucas when he stopped him.

"He's asking for Amelia."
