"How are you feeling?" Richard asked me.

"Nauseous. Maybe we should turn back." I leaned my head against the car window.

"No can do, Ms Simmons."

I groaned and began to think of all the possible things I'll hate at Winxsor Academy.

It's school, not prison, I thought in an attempt to stop myself from unlocking the car door, opening it and leap out.

I've been going to a private school in Canada since I was four so moving all the way to flippin England was a real change in scenery. I couldn't even remember why my parents abruptly chose to send me all the way here because I had block out their voices the moment they mentioned Winxsor. There is not a single soul on this Earth that isn't aware of the existence of the most prestigious academy the world has ever seen, only because of their excellent academic reputation and the fact that it has been on the cover of pretty much every magazine out there.

Also, it's where all the filthy rich kids go.

For literally the hundredth time in the past 24 hours, I groaned.

I was just about to unlock the car door and risk my own death until I was a moment too late.

The golden gates of Winxsor Academy came to view and just by seeing what laid behind them made my jaw drop. "Holy shit."

Richard chuckled. "Welcome to Winxsor Academy, Ms Simmons."

"This is an academy?"

More like a castle.

The largest courtyard I have ever seen in my life appeared in front of me with a beautiful royal garden spread across the entire front of the academy. The flowers were all in full bloom, like someone somehow got them all to bloom today for everyone's arrival.  Everything looked perfect, unreal and that was what Winxsor was . . . breath-taking.

Looking ahead, I saw the main doors. "Jesus, is everything here just insanely big?"

Everywhere I turned there were rows of extremely luxurious cars that most probably cost a fortune, but for these kids . . . they must have cost nothing. I noticed an Aston Martin up front, dropping off a posh male student who stepped out while adjusting his tie.

Was wearing a suit really necessary?

I turned to look behind me and saw more expensive cars queuing behind us. If I were a fan this would have been a free car show.

"Who is that?", I asked Richard, leaning all the way forward to point at the Rolls Royce with flags at the front and in between a couple Bentleys. We were quite far behind them for me to make out what was written on the flags.

"That is the royal family of Belgium", Richard replied.

My mouth parted for a good five seconds. "Of course . . ."

We watched as a male in his early 40's step out of the Bentley and approached the Rolls Royce. He was dressed in a suit and wore satin white gloves. He opened the car door and I saw a guy my age step out of the car, dressed in a navy blue suit. I thought there will be more people getting out of the car, but I was wrong. The guy from earlier just closed it and stood next to the young male.

"I guess only the elder Prince will be attending", Richard stated.

A woman in her 50's stepped out from the main door and headed down the steps, gracefully. I assume she was the headmistress or somebody important at the school, she gave that vibe. She made her way towards the Prince and bowed her head in respect. When she reached out to shake his hand, his bodyguards had form a wall in front of him.

Probably the most cliché thing I have ever witnessed.

The Prince must have said something because the guards immediately moved away and the woman once again reached out her hand to shake the Prince's.

"What's the Prince's name?", I asked with curiosity.

"Gabriel."

NOTE: This is completely my imagination. You can imagine anyone you like as the Prince, doesn't have to be the real one. This story is taking place in a whole Alternate Universe.

I refuse to believe my parents sent me to this school, but sadly that is what they did.

I walked through the main doors. My family was able to afford to send me here because my father worked with and owned a line of banks in Canada.

Before my eyes, was a gold grand staircase that descended from both sides of the large glass window in the centre of the wall up ahead. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, an addition to the academy's pure gold and pristine white interior .

We were all told to gather in the lounge that could have been the fanciest room I have ever seen in my life. There were gold-framed paintings that hung on the white walls. The wooden floor was well-polished to the point I could see my reflection through it. Gold trimmed sofas and single chairs were on each side of the room. The windowed wall offered a view of the entire campus.

This academy was way bigger than I expected it to be.

A tower with a glass dome was seen from this distance and I assumed it was some kind of greenhouse.

All of the student's luggage was left in the front hall. I saw men, dressed in black morning coats, load them onto gold luggage carts. Richard helped carry mine through the main doors and told me to give him a call if I ever need anything before leaving.

Walking to one of the empty couches, I took a seat. The couch covers were silk so I was too scared to even move forward because my butt could literally slip off. I just sat there, frozen, and examined the room with my eyes.

I noticed the Prince was not here.

There was a long table of refreshments, fancy cakes, tea and all but for some reason I was too nervous to even move. I stayed frozen.

After a few minutes, the lady, who greeted the Prince earlier entered the lounge. She had a welcoming smile on her face, her unrealistically white and perfect teeth on full view.

"Good afternoon dears. I am the Headmistress of Winxsor Academy. You may address me as Headmistress Priestly", she spoke in a formal manner, her voice soft, smooth and silvery. She must have been a Queen in her past life. All of a sudden everyone applauded, so I did as well.

"I am sure all of you would like to be escorted to your rooms and get settled in, so I will keep this short", she paused. "During your years here, you will indeed learn many new things, make new friends and go beyond your own boundaries. I wish for your experience here to remain one of the most extraordinary experiences of your life. It definitely was mine." she giggled, lightly. "Each of you will have an assigned butler", she told and gestured towards the row of 'butlers' behind her. They were all dressed in a white collared dress shirt with a grey vest, black tie, white gloves and a black coat with a tail at the back. This was so out of a fairytale book. Not to mention they each had a pocket watch tucked into their coat pocket, so . . . posh.

"Your assigned butlers will bring you and your things to your rooms. They will be at your service during school hours and I mean . . only school hours, which is from 7 am to 7 pm. We trust and hope all of you will be on your best behaviour. If not - there will be severe punishments." Her face turned serious at the end and everyone in the room stiffened, glancing around at each other.

"Joking!", she smiled. "However, there will be consequences for your unnecessary actions", she stated in a firm tone.  "A folder containing all there is you need to know about the academy is left on the desk in your rooms, your schedule and school map included. Please do go through the list of the academy ground rules. Now,  your assigned butlers will now escort you to your rooms, get settled in and head straight to the dining hall after for our annual welcoming brunch. I look forward to seeing all of you in a bit ", she ended her speech with another dazzling smile before beginning to walk away until she suddenly stopped and turned around to face the students once more.

"Oh", she clasped her hands in front of her and smiled, "Welcome to Winxsor Academy."

My butler led me through a high ceiling hallway, a row of floor-to-ceiling glass windows on my right side. On the left, there were gold-framed paintings on the walls, looking like they had just come out of the Harry Potter movie. A long red carpet stretched down the hallway and a part of me worried my shoes would dirty the fine material. The academy had multiple wings and my room turned out to be in the West wing.

The whole time walking towards my room, the same thought kept running through my head.

Why am I here?

During introductions, I learned that my butler's name was Arnold. He carried one of my luggages in each of his hands. I only brought three suitcases, so I carried one too. I told him a luggage cart really wasn't necessary. All of the luggage carts downstairs, however, were completely full. It was full to the extent that all the luggages piled over each other like a mega tower. Luckily, this academy had elevators.

Arnold stopped walking and I realised we had reach my room. I stood behind him as he placed one of my luggages down and searched through his coat pocket. He pulled out a gold card and tapped it onto the modern lock of the wooden door. He extended his arm towards the inside of the room once he had opened it and signalled me to enter first.

"Oh wow",  I mumbled the moment I entered the room, over-whelmed by the size of it.

It was like modernised version of a princess bedroom with grey wood interior and panelled walls with white trims. A large king-size bed with white silk sheets on one side of the room, on the other a flat screen TV, cream-coloured carpet that was large enough to cover the entire room floor and a white wooden desk just against the wall with a Mac computer already set up on top of it. There was also a mirror embedded into wall on the other end of the room.

Arnold placed down my luggages beside the door and told me that there was a controller on the bedside table and that all I had to do was  press the button with the butler icon if I needed him. He lastly told me to go through the folder on my desk and made sure I was all settled in before making a leave.

A little too curious, I approached the mirror and it turned out to be a sliding door. I slid it all way way open to find my own walk-in closet.

"Well, holy shit", I said. That was just how big the dorms here were.

The door next to the mirror was white and wooden. I pushed down the gold handle and my eyes literally widened. The largest bathroom I have ever seen, and it literally was. It had a white marble interior and an antique bathtub by the window that overlooked the green lawn. The shower had gold fixtures and there was large single-sink vanity with lots of makeup space.

I took a seat on the grey curved couch in the centre of the room and laid there for a long time just thinking  . . . god damn.

❇❇❇

After I had pretty much settled myself in, as in stuffing my suitcases into the walk-in closet because I was too lazy to unpack, I debated actually going to that brunch. It was actually compulsory for every student to attend as eating fancy eggs and sausages together was considered an 'official welcome' to Winxsor. My stomach growled and that was the only reason why I sucked it up,  snatched the academy map off my desk and left the room.

To the dining hall.

I've already read through the academy rules and it was pretty basic like; no leaving school grounds after ten, no alcoholic beverages to be kept in your rooms etcetera.

The only thing that interested me in that folder was the room service menu though, which I actually appreciated for this academy to have. Apparently, if we didn't feel like going to the dining hall for meals we could just dial the kitchen number through the room telephone and order whatever we wanted on the menu. It was like hotel room service, but with a five-star hotel kind of menu. Literally, a wagyu burger was an option.

Convinced that I was going to get lost very soon because of how huge the flippin place was, I opened the map and saw that if I kept  walking forward I would find a staircase that led to the . . "There's a spa here?"

Suddenly, a shriek rang through the hallway and I nearly jumped out of my skin. I turned to my left and saw a line of students up against the window.

What are they looking at?

"They're here!", I heard a squeal from behind. All of a sudden, a girl with long blonde hair ran past me and her shoulder collided with mine. I stumbled forward and was going to say something, but the girl only ran to join the crowd against the windows.

"I wasn't expecting an apology anyways", I mumbled before I went to join everyone else was, curious to know what all the squealing was about.  It was pretty hard to see anything with the is many students blocking the windows and just then I realised that the hallway I came from had windows too. I started heading the other  direction.

Once I got there, I looked out the window to see what was downstairs.

"Holy shit."
