I'm drunk so here's a chapter I wrote while I was sober.

"Are you mad?" Cain murmurs wrapping his arms around me from behind as I sit in front of the mirror, brushing my hair.

I sigh as he nuzzles his face into my neck. "No," I admit. "I was furious and planned on breaking out, but you're right, it's dangerous for me to see the wolves until Seb knows."

The truth is, my dream had unnerved me profoundly. It felt so real, so lifelike, when I woke up, I half expected Thane to be sitting right next me, before I realized how insane I am. For some reason, the dream left me with a twang of guilt.

Cain frowned. "About that... I think you should go see them."

I turn around on the stool, looking at him curiously. "Why the change of heart?"

Cain hesitates before speaking. "They... refused to talk. Said they will only speak to you. They... resisted torture methods."

His chest was splattered with blood, so I had no doubt he had inflicted plenty of pain on them, enough to make any normal wolf talk.

My brows furrowed. "Why me?"

Cain shrugged. "Maybe they think that if you know them, you'll let them go."

I snort. "If they actually knew me, then they would know that I have no issue with slaughtering them, no matter who they are."

"Only one way to find out," Cain said, and held out his hand.

I grinned. I love getting new wolves to torture.

When we got to the prison, Axel was standing in front of the cell, his arms crossed as he frowned at them.

I looked into the cell, and was surprised to see that most of the wolves were elderly. "What, are you guys offering an Early Bird discount on prison meals?" I ask sarcastically.

Axel snorts. "If we were, Cain would be down here every day."

I laugh, and Cain rolls his eyes. "Well, let's get started," I say as I grin mischievously. Axel reaches into his pocket, pulling out a key that he uses to open the rusty gate.

It creaks loudly as we step through, and the old people look at me with interest. I vaguely recognize some of them, but all of them were too old to have been trained by me while I was the Gamma of Red Crescent.

"Well?" I ask finally after they stare at me in silence for a minute. "You asked for me, here I am, your lives just got significantly better from being in my presence, so how about someone start talking before I make heads roll?"

None of them flinch at my threat, and continue to stare at me in silence. "C'mon, I know I'm exceptionally attractive, but surely you can find a few words. Starting with: What the hell are you doing in my pack?"

They continue to stare at me in silence, and I sigh, grabbing an old man by the throat, pulling him off of the floor where his foot is chained. I can tell that Axel and Cain do not feel that threatened by them, as they keep their restraints minimal.

I summon the knife Thane gave me to the old man's neck, and they exhale. "Some answer me before I decapitate Grandpa over here," I calmly state, but my fury deepens when none of them respond.

I shrug, slitting his throat, making blood splatter on some of their faces. I throw his body to the side, and some of them wince at the sound his body makes as it crashes to the floor.

"I can do this all day," I warn with a grin. "I really hate old people."

They continue staring at me, but it seems more like curiosity, rather than fear. I sigh, grabbing one of the few women in the group by her hair, yanking her to her feet. She doesn't make a sound as I plunge the dagger into her heart.

I toss her body to the side, and none of the remaining eight wolves say anything. "Who's next?" I ask, to be a dick, not expecting a response, so I'm surprised when one of the males says, "Me."

Wiping the surprise off of my face, I shrug. "Suit yourself, Grandpa. If you all just have a death wish, just let me know now so I can kill you and we'll all be on our merry way."

My mouth drops open as all of them nod, getting on their knees and barring their necks in submission.

"Luna..." Axel says from behind me in surprise, and I was so wrapped up in the violence I almost forgot he and Cain were there. "They... Want to die?"

I shrug, stabbing the man who offered himself next. "Seems like it. Though I'm not sure why they couldn't have just offed themselves in Red Crescent and save themselves the trip."

"Maybe you should hold off on killing them," Cain mutters. "Until we know why they're here."

I sigh. "They're not going to talk, and they clearly want to die. Who am I to refuse them of their dying wish? Pun intended, of course."

Cain is silent as I slit the remainder of their throats down the line, one by one. The last one even thanks me before I do so.

I wipe the blood off of my hands, cleaning Thane's knife with my cloak, before putting it into my pocket.

"That was freaky," Axel muttered. "What was that, some kind of suicide pact?"

Cain rubs his beard, deep in thought. "Some kind of sacrifice, maybe?"

"To what?" I ask.

"You shouldn't be asking to what. You should be asking to who," Cain says quietly.

Cain and I walk back to the pack house, leaving Axel and some of the other guards to dispose of the bodies.

"Where did you get that knife?" Cain asks casually. "I've never seen it before. Doesn't really seem like your style."

I shrug. "Thane gave it to me. It's sharp, does the trick just fine, so why not use it?"

Cain's eyes narrow, and he stops to pick me up, holding me tightly to his chest. "You're mine."

I roll my eyes. "Chill out, Wolfie. It's just a knife," I say, but I cringe as I remember my dream. In particular, Thane calling me his mate.

"So the Mating Gathering is coming up," I say. "It's in Crimson Shadow this year? Do you know the Alpha well?"

Cain nods. "Killian. He's a good wolf. Strong, fair, runs the pack better than his father did. I've met him at a few events. Good man, though you should stay away from him."

"Why's that?" I ask curiously.

Cain scoffs. "He's known for being extremely flirtatious with she-wolves. I don't doubt he would be bewitched by you in particular."

I snort. "So he hasn't found his mate yet?"

Cain shrugs. "I don't think so... I've heard rumors that he doesn't have one."

I laugh. "Everyone has a mate. I didn't think I would have one either, but here we are."

"Here we are," Cain agrees with a laugh.

"Speaking of the Mating Gathering, would you happen to know where it was held last year?" I ask casually, trying to make my tone light.

"Of course I do, I was there. Blue Moon. It was at Blue Moon," Cain answers. "Why do you ask?"

My throat nearly closes as I respond, "I was just curious."

"Your heartbeat is going crazy, pup," Cain murmurs. "Is something wrong?"

I ignore him, anxiety wracking my body as he confirms what I had suspected.

The dream wasn't just a dream. It was a vision.
