As Kusuo and I made our way upstairs, I kept thinking back at all the sleepovers we had in our past. The most recent one, right before I left, always made me laugh. I had tried to undress in front of Kusuo, and god, his reaction was priceless! I smiled a bit, before turning back to my nervous self as we walked into his room. Trying to release some stress and nerves, I threw myself on the bed.

"I'll go get some spare blankets." Kusuo said  causing me to lift my head and look at him.

"What for?"

"So I can make myself a bed on the floo-"

"That won't be necessary." I sighed and propped myself up in the bed.

"We'll just sleep together like we used to." I said plainly, not seeing the problem with it.

"Y/n, we're 17 now, not 11. You shouldn't go around trusting boys like that." Kusuo said as he turned to the door once more. Quickly, I kept from the bed and grabbed his wrist.

"I'm not trusting any boy, I'm trusting you."

Kusuo turned around with a surprised look on his face. I smiled sweetly, and slowly walked backwards, guiding him to the bed.

"Wall or end?" I asked before climbing in.

"... Wall."

With that, Kusuo got in first and scooted to the wall, then allowed me to climb in next to him. Immediately, I was drawn to the warmth of his body as I pulled the covers over us. Using his psychic powers, Kusuo turned off the light.

The two of us laid on our backs in silence, only the sound of crickets chirping from outside could be heard. Daringly, I used my left hand and instinctively placed it on top of Kusuo's right hand before we locked our hands together.

As children, Kusuo would always pull me into his chest as we slept, but now that we're almost adults, I figured this was enough. Soon, I was pulled into a wonderful, warm sleep.

"Are you serious? You're not even that sick yet!"

I heard my mother's voice cry out.

"What am I going to do? They won't even give me a referral..."

"I'm going to have to pick up a few extra hours at the clinic..."

"You can't! You're overworking your body, Cynthia! Maybe I can find another job soo-"

"Jason... Please, you're sick too. You can hardly breathe on your own. Let me take care of you and Y/n. Go take a nap, dear. I need to take Y/n to the art gallery."

I could hear the smile in my mother's tone.

"Come, Y/n! Maybe if you see a piece you like, they'll let you touch it!" My mom said happily. I took her hand and we walked out the door.

"What happened?"

"I-I don't know, my truck was too tall for me to even see them!"

"Oh, she's waking up! Dear, dear! What is your name?"

"... Y/n... L/n."

"How old are you, what is today's date?!"

"I'm... 11... It's July 31st. You need to call my dad."

"There's no time for tha-"

"We're only 30 seconds away from my house. Please! Call him! Help my mom!!! Why isn't she moving?! MOM!"

I shot up from bed with tears running down my face. My body was hit and I felt a weight pull at me.

I looked down to see Kusuo sleeping and clinging onto my chest. Seeing him so peaceful calmed my weary soul.

I smiled sweetly as he shuffled and buried his face deeper into my chest. I then saw his eyes open slightly and meety gaze.

"Good mo-"

Kusuo immediately shut up once he saw what he was using as a pillow and jolted off of me.

"... Sorry..." Kusuo mumbled shyly.

"Did I complain?" I smiled sweetly at him. He looked away, but looked at me once more as I brought my hands to his cheeks.

"May I?" I asked. Kusuo nodded and leaned into my touch.

Carefully, I traced my fingertips up his cheeks and to his ears, where I gripped his glasses and carefully took them off.

He looked so peaceful with the genuine smile that was on his face.

"How far have your nullifying powers come?" Kusuo asked me.

"Well, I can nullify someone for longer now, but I get really exhausted depending on how long I do it." I smiled and folded his glasses and set them on his nightstand.

"It's refreshing not to have those stupid things on all the time." Kusuo grumbled and crawled out of bed.

"Well, whenever you need a break, you let me know and I'll come running." I smiled and climbed out of bed as well.

"Will do. By the way, where are you staying? Couldn't you have stayed with your grandparents in America? Not that I'm complaining."

"We buried mom here, and my dad wanted to be buried next to her. My grandparents paid for the entire funeral and flight, and will be sending me $500 each month. As of right now, I'm staying with my cousin, Toriyama." I answered and followed him out of his room.

"That creep? Isn't he 4 years older than you?" Kusuo asked as we climbed down the stairs.

"Yeah, but he travels a lot so I'll basically be living by myself. He returns for 3 days each month."

"Well he surely is ambicious. He's 21, right? What's his major?"

"He's an engineer now. He mainly focuses on repairing airplanes." We then walked into his kitchen where his mom and dad were eating breakfast.

"Good morning Ku! Good morning Y/n darling!" His mom said happily.

"Good morning." I smiled back and grabbed a banana from the fruit bowl and sat down with them.

"Y/n, you're 17 right? What will you be doing for your senior year of school?" Mrs. Saiki asked.

"Well, I'm planning on attending whatever high school is close-"

"You should totally go to Kusuo's high school! Then maybe he'll actually go to a school dance!" Mrs. Saiki said happily.

"Well I don't want to intrude-"

"You won't be intruding on anything, trust me." Kusuo mumbled and sat down next to me.

"If you do decide to attend my high school, keep in mind that there are freaks there as well."
Kusuo advised and took a bite of an apple.

"We'll it's Saturday, so I better get my registration in." I thought to myself and finished my banana.

"Already taken care of." Kusuo answered and abruptly stood up and grabbed my hand.

"Go get dressed. You still owe me a coffee jelly." Kusuo smiled down at me, and I smiled back.

"You're right, silly me."
