W I N T E R

Dinner went on in silence although I could notice the side gazes the girls were getting.

Which is understandable because my parents didn't even know that they existed till now while Leo's dad looked confused for most parts.

I decided that the girls wouldn't hide from the family anymore and thought it would be a nice introduction during the lunch.

"So you both like decided to adopt grown up children?" My mom broke the silence.

"We didn't officially adopt them, they're legal adults. We only decided that we wanted them to live with us and for you all to give them that respect." I boldly answered.

"Leo, did you pressurize Winter into taking this decision?" My father in law asked in a monotone.

"No dad."

"How come they're here anyway? Last I checked, they are supposed to be abroad."

"It's winter break dad." Leo groaned.

"Relax." I placed my hand on top of his at the table.

A smirk made its way to my mother's face. "And Is that hand holding I'm noticing?"

"Oh my god, mom!" I immediately removed my hand.

Leo grabbed my hand and held it tight making me let out a soft gasp.

"Winter and I have decided to give our marriage a chance. We plan to start a family together and these girls are just the beginning and as the new year begins, we hope we can all start afresh." Leo announced.

"Oh really?" My mother in law's face lit up. "That is such good news!" She clasped her hands together.

" I'm glad!" Both our parents smiled at each other.

"Thank goodness! I was actually going to start getting worried." My mom grinned.

"I'm happy you both are actually giving your relationship and chance. You'll both be able to help each other heal and start afresh."

"If it makes a difference. I knew they would." Rachel snickered.

"Really dear?" My dad asked and she nodded with pride.

"Of course Rachel knew! They gossip all day everyday with each other." My mom shook her head.

I turned to Rachel and glared at her, making sure she noticed.

"You girls don't have to be so quiet." My father glanced at the girls.

"That's right. You should feel comfortable with us. We're family now aren't we?"

"Where do you all go to school?"

"Myself and Cassidy," Iris gestured to Cassidy who sat beside her. "Both attend Stratford University." She answered.

"You both go to SU?!" My mom gasped. "I'm an alumni of the university! What are your majors?!" She questioned.

That's my mom! Always making sure everyone feels comfortable.

Dinner went on with ease after that, the table was filled with a lot of small talk and everyone interacting with the girls.

I felt a hand on my thigh and I traced it up to Leo.

"Thank you." He mouthed with a smile.

"You're welcome." I replied.

This new year is starting off really great, I really hope it continues this way.

At the end of dinner, I excused myself and went straight up to my room forgetting that I had asked the help to move my stuff. Now the room just sat empty.

"Winter?" Rachel's voice filled the air as the door opened.

"Yeah?" I coldly answered. "Whst do you want?" I rolled my eyes.

"I'm feeling a lot of negative emotions here which shouldn't be here." She joked but put her lips in a straight line when she realized I wasn't smiling. "Are you mad at me for something?" Her expression turned serious.

"I don't know. Did you do something I'm supposed to be mad about?" I sarcastically replied her.

"Speak directly."

"You were the one behind the whole divorce fiasco but you pretended to be clueless! You made me feel stupid for coming to you when I was going through a rough patch with Leo!" I vented.

"I did it so you could realize your feelings, I really didn't mean to make you feel stupid."

"But I did okay? I'm not really pissed honestly, just felt dumb."

"I'm sorry. Don't be mad yeah? If you're mad then you can't give me all the details of you and Leo."

I chuckled, "It's alright. If you want to hear all the details then we better take a seat." I walked towards the bed and she followed me.

"I am such a genius! I knew that was how it would turn out!" She squealed after I narrated it to her.

"How come?"

"Isn't that how all those romance movies and books go?"

I giggled, "This is not a page in one of those romance cliches you read. It's real life."

"But yet here we are." She shook her head. "So you're moving to Leo's room now? I'm so proud of you both. I would personally love a nephew first." Rachel teased.

"Stop!" I dragged and she burst into laughter.

"Let's go back down. We've been here for quite a while." Rachel suggested and I nodded.

When we joined everyone downstairs, it didn't take long for them to leave and after, the girls, Leo and I settled in the living room to watch tv.

"I can't believe Winter gave us a new family." Thalia croaked.

"I told you she's the best." Iris praised.

"Thank you so much Winter. For everything." Cassidy pitched in.

"I thought we were past these thank you." I joked as I blinked away the tears forming in my eyes.

"Where did Leo go? Did he go to bed already?" Thalia asked drawing all our notice to the fact that Leo wasn't in the living room anymore.

"I'll go see."

As I walked up the stairs to Leo's room, now my room and in plural; our room; I couldn't help but smile.

Can't believe I'm happily sharing a room with the jerk who spilled his vodka on me. Fate is weird.

I pushed the door open and noticed  iLeo sitting in the corner using his laptop. The white walls and the lack of other ornaments showed me that the whole room needed a couple of touches and made me realize that in all the time I was married to Leo, I never set foot in his room.

"Are you going to come in or are you going to keep thinking?" Leo's voice snapped me back to reality.

"Oh...yes." I stuttered as I closed the door behind me and strolled over to his direction. "How come you didn't come back down?" I asked.

"You all seemed to be having a girls moment and I didn't want to interrupt." He replied as he closed his laptop.

"We're women." I corrected. "We were having a moment." I completed.

"My apologies, woman."  He joked and I snickered.  "Anyway, I really want to thank you. You made my girls feel so welcomed, so loved and so accepted. You did in one day what I've been trying to do for years which is make my dad accept them."

"You don't need to thank me. I honestly do it because as an only child growing up, I always craved extra family and you provided that for me so thank you."

This is without a doubt going to be a thrilling year with Leo by my side. Mentally. Emotionally. Sexually.
