Damian was the only guy who ever reassured me that I wasn't ordinary and now this man is saying that too.

Why did my heart race when he said that about me? I've been single for so long that the slightest compliment makes my heart skip a beat.

A knock came from the outside of my door. I shifted my gaze from the view of the pool to the door and walked from my window to the door then opened it.

"There are some workers here and apparently you have an appointment with them?" Cassidy pointed downstairs.

"I don't recall hiring any-."

Oh wait, it's probably the ones my mom sent over.

"Don't worry, I'll handle them." I assured her before we both walked out of the room.

My eyes fixed on the ground, I sashayed downstairs and found a bunch of people standing in the living room.

"Good morning ."

"Good morning ma'am."

They greeted me with warm smiles on their faces.

A man dressed in casual shirt and khakis stepped forward, his smile not moving for a second.

"I'm Daniel and I'll be the driver." He announced before stepping backwards.

Why's he smiling so much? It's so cringe.

"I'm Eva, I'm the housekeeper." She announced to me.

"I'm Emilia, I'll be in charge of cooking." She smiled before stepping backwards.

"Hey everyone, I'm Winter, I live here with my husband, Leonardo and two other younger girls namely Iris and Thalia but they are in college and only come here during holidays." I introduced.

"Your mother instructed us to start immediately but we aren't sure where the rooms are yet." Daniel voiced out.

I'm not sure where that is either.

"Yeah, I'll let Cassidy show you all to your rooms, just hold on here for a second." I assured them.

As I walked down to the hallway, my phone buzzed and my mom appeared on my screen.

"Hey mom!" I greeted with a toothy grin.

"Hey sweetheart," She replied my greeting. "Did the workers already reach you?" She asked.

"Yes mom, thank you so much for doing the selection." I appreciated as I continued to walk down the hallway.

"Sure sweetie. I'll let you go now, I can't wait to see you tonight." She gushed.

"Okay mom! Bye!" I concluded before hanging up.

I twisted the doorknob of Cassidys door open and poked my head in trying to see where she was.

"There's no need to poke your head into my room, just come in, it's your house anyway." She commented from a corner of the room causing me to flinch.

Why did I flinch when I wasn't even doing anything wrong?

"Do you need something?" Cassidy walked towards me.

"Yeah, I can't find the servant quarters and I wanted to ask if you know where it is?"

"Oh," Her eyes brightened. "Well it's the other door in the kitchen, one's the pantry and the other door leads to a bunch of rooms which seems like what you're looking for." She answered.

"I had no idea there were even two doors." I laughed.

Cassidy laughed, "Never mind, just follow me." She instructed.

Cassidy strutted out in a pink tank top and white shorts as I followed behind her. We met the workers and I did the introduction before she showed the workers where they would be staying.

I peeked into one of the rooms and realized that the rooms were pretty nice too. It had its own toilet and bathroom while the bed was big enough for two to sleep but overall, the room itself was quite spacious.

Everyone had their own rooms and they were really satisfied, there were even extra rooms.

After leaving the workers to settle in, I received an email from my PA with an attached document.

Good day ma'am, I know you're away on your honeymoon but the Chinese clients want to meet you tomorrow to discuss the proposal for expansion. I've attached the original proposal ypu worked on before you got married. Just look through it and revise it for your proposal tomorrow.

I grabbed my laptop and turned it on before opening the attached file on that email.

A sigh escaped my lips as my eyes reviewed the whole document. This meeting was supposed to happen in two months and I spent at least two weeks trying to make this proposal, how am I supposed to memorize it all now?!

Winter when did you become so lazy? You were able to get work done within hours and now you're hesitating?

I shook my thoughts away and rummaged through my cupboard to find my reading glasses.

As I settled on my reading table ready to work, a soft knock came from the outside of my door.

"Ma'am it's Emilia." A soft voice echoed in my room.

Emilia? Who's Emi-. Oh

"Come on in!" I answered.

The door opened gently to reveal petite Emilia who had delicate features. Her small brown eyes wouldn't leave the ground while her blonde hair was packed into a neat ponytail.

This is the first time I'm really examining her features and she's also quite pretty and young, she doesn't look like she's that much of a worker.

"May I help you?" I pushed my glasses to the bridge of my nose.

"Um...Well, I'd like to know if anyone here has any food allergies so I can keep it in mind while cooking." Her delicate voice asked.

"I don't know about the others but I personally don't have any allergies except nuts. I react badly with nuts. So I suggest you ask everyone personally about theirs." I pushed my glasses back up and turned away.

"Are there any foods you particularly like or hate?"  She questioned me.

"Well I like chicken avocado sandwiches and also pasta, I don't like mushrooms." I answered her without turning to face her.

"Noted, thank you ma'am." She cheerfully appreciated before skipping outside the room.

She's interesting.

After practicing my proposal, I heard a soft knock on my door again.

"It's Leo." A deep voice yelled from outside causing my heart to skip a beat.

What the hell? Why'd my heart go crazy upon hearing his voice?

"Come on in." I yelled in response.

"Hey, shouldn't you be getting ready for the ball?" Leonardo questioned as he stood at the corner after closing the door.

"It's in the evening, I still have ti-." I gasped as I double tapped my phone which illuminated with the time.

It is past six?! Six! How long have I been here for?

"Thought as much, I came back from the hospital a while ago and I didn't hear you come down or anything so I thought to remind you." The corner of his lips twitched upwards.

"You thought to remind me now?!" I took off my glasses and placed them on the table. "Now when we barely have an hour to leave?" I scolded Leonardo.

"I just had a complicated surgery and I also forgot about the ball, the only reason I remembered was because my mom called me up to pick up a dress she bought for you!" He raised his voice back.

Oh shit.
