Charlie's POV

I tried to respond but all that came out was a nervous squeak. I cleared my throat and spoke louder than the first time. " I don't drink. "

"Oh." He said surprised. "Well. If I can't buy you a drink, how about you go to dinner with me?"

"Umm... Right now?"

"Yep. Right now."

"Well... I don't know... My friend drove me here... She's around here somewhere..."

"I can take you home when we're done." Trevor said, smirking. She was reaching and she knew it.

"Fine." She surrendered. "I just have to go tell my friend. Be right back."

I got off of the bar stool and began looking for Jodie. I found her sitting at a small table with some guy she met.

"Hey. This guy invited me to dinner." I explained. "His name is Trevor and he's going to drive me home after so don't wait for me when you want to leave."

"Oh my gosh! That's great! You have to go! This will be great for you! Don't let me keep you here! Go!" She squealed excitedly.

"Ok. I'll text you later." I said as I turned to go back to the bar.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied.

He led me to a black Mazda sedan that looked brand new. We climbed in and pulled out onto the road. Then came the questions.

"So what is you full name?" Trevor inquired.

"I could ask you the same question." I retorted.

"I guess you could." He chuckled. "Fine. If I tell you mine will you tell me yours?"

I nodded.

"It's Trevor Hodgenson. Now your full name?"

"It's Charlotte Wolfe. My friends call me Charlie."

"Pretty. I like it. What are you hobbies?" He moved on to the next question.

"Um I love to write and I like to read. That's about it..." I trailed off. "What about you?"

"That's cool." He said, dodging the question. "How old are you?"

"Today's my birthday. I'm 19. How old are you?"

"I'm 21. Who was your friend?"

"Jodie. We've been best friends since middle school. Where are we going?" I asked, finally realizing that we weren't downtown anymore.

"I thought we could grab some take out and then head to my house. Is that ok?" He asked, a slightly worried look in his eyes.

"Yeah that's fine."

"Good." He said relieved. "Let's go eat then."
