Valeria

I stayed in the kitchen. I knew that if I had to go back to the dining room, I would start crying. The worst part was that no one said anything about me leaving and not eating with them. I know I am just a maid, but after how many times they insisted on me eating with them in the morning, I thought they'd care.

I sit on the stool and look at the wall in front of me, letting out a huff. I sit here for about thirty minutes when I am called to the dining room to get the dishes.

I walk to the dining room with a scowl on my face. I try my best not to show anyone that I am angry, but I couldn't help it. Just thinking about how she kissed him and how he kissed me makes me feel like a fool.

Obviously, he is taken, but why would he do that? Why would he lie to me and cheat on this girl? It is obvious that he knows her from before and in a relationship with her, or else, why would he let her kiss him?

I reach the dining area and I find it empty. They must have went to the living room.

I take all the dishes to the kitchen, of course, going back and forth. I wish I have someone to work with me, not because I find the work too much, but because I want someone to enjoy my time with in the kitchen. I don't mind if it's an old woman, or someone my age, or even a guy.

I start washing the dishes and putting all the food in containers, so the drivers would distribute them to the shelters and people in need. Mrs. Gonzalez is very strict on not throwing food, not that I would ever throw food.

I don't even have the appetite to eat anything.

I take the containers and walk outside the villa through the kitchen door, and make my way to the drivers. I give each a few and tell them what to do.

I then go back inside and walk to the living room to ask them if they needed anything. I could hear chatter coming from there and a few people laughing.

"Mrs. Gonzalez, do you need anything?" I ask politely, making everyone stop what they are doing and listen to the conversation.

I don't look at anyone, especially Lorenzo. I refuse to acknowledge what's happening and appear nonchalant.

"Yes, Val—"

"Get me a glass of fresh orange juice," Claudio interrupts Valentina.

I look at her, dumbfounded. The worst part is that no one tells her anything.

"Of course," I reply with a fake smile.

I look again at Valentina and wait for her to tell me what she wanted to say before she was interrupted.

"Yes, Valeria, as I was saying, please make coffee for everyone."

I nod with a genuine smile and mumble an 'okay.'

I go back to the kitchen and start with the orange juice. Thank god, we have fresh orange juice that we bought from the supermarket. I pour in the glass and put it on the tray. I then make the Turkish black coffee that everyone here loves, and pour it in the smaller coffee cups. I pick up the tray and walk back to the living room.

I give the fresh orange juice to Claudia and the coffee to everyone else. When I finish, I turn to go back to the kitchen when Claudia's voice stops me.

"Hey, maid! This is not fresh orange juice!" she yells in front of everyone.

I clench my jaw and turn around to face her. "It is, ma'am." My reply makes her scowl.

"I said, it is not. I want squeezed fresh orange juice."

It's the same, you moron. This is squeezed but from the market. I made sure to bring the ones without added sugars or anything.

I bite my tongue and don't say a thing. I steal a glance at Sophia only to see her glaring at Claudia.

I take the cup from her and go back to the kitchen. I look through the fridge and don't find oranges. Not wanting to hear anything else from this girl, I grab my bag and go out of the house. There is a small supermarket close to the house and it only take five minutes on foot to get there.

I reach the gate only to be stopped by some guards.

"Where are you going, ma'am?" One of them asked.

"To the supermarket nearby. I won't be long."

"No one can leave the premises."

"And who said that?"

"Mr. Lorenzo."

"But I have to leave," I say, moving forward but only to be stopped again, but this time by his hand. His hand grabbed my arm tightly that it might leave a bruise.

"Don't touch me."

"I told you, you can't leave."

"Watch me." I bit back, pushing his hand away and walking fast down the street. I hear him yelling at me and threatening to call Lorenzo, but I honestly don't care.

When I reached the market, I buy a few oranges, pay, and walk back to the house. It's not even an exact five-minute walk. It's less.

When I reach the gates again, I find Lorenzo and Sam standing with the same guard who yelled at me. When they see me coming, the guard points at me and says something.

"Valeria, where did you go?" Lorenzo's hard voice reaches my ears.

I hold the bag of oranges up a little and say, "Getting oranges for your girlfriend, sir."

At that, Sam laughs but quickly hides it with his hand. "If you'll excuse me, I have oranges to squeeze."

I walk past them and enter the gates. I walk through the kitchen's door and I immediately get back to work.

I wash the oranges and start making the juice for senora Claudia.

I pour the juice in the same, making sure to wipe her lipstick from the cup, so she doesn't come up with another excuse to send me back to the kitchen. Besides, I don't see using a new cup necessary.

"Here you go," I say, placing the glass on the table. Lorenzo is already back and sitting in his place beside her.

"What took you so long?" she complains, making me hide the urge to roll my eyes.

I don't reply to her.

"Anything else, Mrs. Gonzalez?"

"No, dear, thank you." Valentina gives me an appreciative smile.

I nod my head and leave.

Lorenzo

This is the worst timing ever. Just when I made some progress with Valeria, Claudia decides to ruin it.

Claudia Vergara, my former fiancé from New York, and the one I dumped before coming to Seville. My family knew of her, but never saw her, but my father knew her father as our engagement was a business deal. I only broke it off because I discovered that we didn't need her father's alliance and he wouldn't add benefits to our mafia.

She came back here to get me back, which I specifically told her that it's not going to happen. She understood, but insists on trying again.

Again, I said no.

The only reason she is still here is because we don't kick guests, but I wish I could. I saw the look on Valeria's face and I feel like shit. She thinks I lied to her and used her, even though nothing officially happened between us. But still, something happened and I don't regret it. I want more and I am serious about it, about her.

"Claudia, if you fucking treat Valeria like this again, I will kill you."

She gasps, putting the glass on the table.

"Lorenzo...she is a maid, what do you mean?"

"She's not just a maid. Show her respect next time, that is if you see her."

She doesn't respond and a scowl replaces her once happy face.

"Well, thank you for having me," Claudia says.

We didn't really have a choice. You invited your ass here.

"And Lorenzo, call me when you change your mind." She glares at me, but gives me a kiss on the cheek this time after I told her not to pull that stunt back at the dining room.

She's moody with too many faces.

When she left, I quickly made my way to the kitchen to speak with Valeria. The last thing I want is for our relationship to deteriorate because of Claudia.

I find her chopping vegetables, causing me to look at her in confusion.

"Valeria...hey."

She doesn't reply.

"Valeria," I say again.

She looks up at me and says, "Yes, Mr. Lorenzo?"

"We're back to Mr., now?"

"I have never stopped using it," she replies.

"Anyways, this is not why I am here. I have a lot to explain."

She stops what she's doing and says, "You don't have to explain anything to me, sir."

"Valeria, stop acting like this," I scold as I walk towards her until I stood very close.

"Like what?"

"Like I am your boss and you are my employee."

"But you are my boss and I am your employee," she replies, crossing her eyebrows.

"Valeria...there's nothing between me and Claudia, I swear. It was a long time ago back in New York and I never saw her again."

She looks at me with uncertainty. I could tell she doesn't believe me and is having a hard time to do so.

I put my hand up and caress her cheek. She looks taken aback by the sudden touch, but I immediately let me hand fall when my eyes land on her arm.

"What happened to your arm?" I ask, glaring at her arm.

"N-Nothing, nothing happened."

"Valeria, who did this?"

"Lorenzo, calm down."

"Tell me, Valeria."

"Lorenzo, no one did anything. Besides, you're still injured for god's sake. Sit down."

I listen to her and sit down because the journey I took to the gates made my body feel like it's on fire. I only risked it because it was Valeria.

I take her arm with my hand and slowly caress the bruised area. I plant a kiss on it and then look up into her eyes. "Who did this, tell me, please."

"Promise me you won't do anything."

"I can't promise you that," I spat harshly, but not intended to be at her.

"Please, promise me..."

"Valeria, they need to be punished. Who the fuck dared to touch you?" I am so angry right now.

"No one. Anyways, so...nothing...nothing is going on with you and?..."

"Don't change the subject and no, nothing is going on between me and Claudia. Besides, my eyes are set on another girl."

She blushes hard and I forget about her bruised arm for a second, but as soon as I looked at it again, my scowl was back on.

"It was the bodyguard at the gates. The one you were talking to. But it's really not his fault. He told me I wasn't allowed to leave, yet I was stubborn."

That motherfucker is dead.

"No one touches you, Valeria. No one."

I stand up to leave, but she stops me. "Lorenzo, please, don't do anything. He has a family to feed."

I close my eyes, trying to suppress my anger. "Valeria, he hurt you."

"I don't care. He didn't mean to."

"Gosh, you are so stubborn..." I mumble, making her chuckle.

I look up at her and smile at her blushed face. I take the front piece of her hair and twirl it with my finger before tucking it behind her ear.

"I like when you blush."

She blushes harder.

"By the way, I am sorry you didn't get to sit with us, and for how she treated you. I made sure it never happens again."

"I-It's okay...I wanted to hit her so bad, but controlled myself."

I grin widely. "So, I take it you were jealous?"

"Jealous?" She scoffs. "Never. It was because of how she treated me."

"I know...but weren't you jealous at all?" I ask again, wanting to bad to hear what I want to hear.

She looks at me from underneath her beautiful lashes and says, "Lorenzo, if you want me to be jealous, you'd have to do more than this."

Is it weird that her words turned me on?
