"IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO LISTEN TO ME THEN YOU CAN JUST GO!"

You finally yell as you feel hot water seeping down your cheeks, and L presses his lips into a thin line as he turns towards the door. Before any time could pass, he was gone. Then, there was silence, only being broken by your slightly heavier breathing. That was your first ever argument, and it was a little shocking to be actually experiencing it first hand. After a little while of just looking at the door while you began to relax, you realized what was happening, and how physically and emotionally exhausted you were from tonight. Without much time passing, you turn towards the bedroom and silently go over to it, still overthinking the situation like crazy.

Jeez....for our first ever fight, that was pretty heated.

You think as you change into a plain tee shirt and some pyjama shorts, then slip under the covers.

Even so...he did start it.

You think as you turn on your side, inching toward the edge of the soft sheets.

As you were laying in bed unable to sleep, after what felt like hours you hear the door to your apartment finally click, followed by someone coming inside. Once the entrance to your home was closed, you hear someone slowly coming over to your room, and you move to the very edge of your side of the bed in response. If he wanted space, he could have it. Soon enough you hear the door to your room being pushed open, followed by silence.

"(y/n)? Are you awake sweetheart?"

He asks in an almost saddened tone, and you almost started crying again in response.

"Go away."

You manage to say without letting your emotions get the better of you.

"Hey...it's my apartment too you know."

He says softly as he comes and sits on his side of the bed across from you. You don't answer.

"(y/n), please..."

He begs as you feel his hand trace your cheek. You push him away, and you pull the covers up as you otherwise stay still.

"I love you. I'm sorry I was being stubborn."

You hear him state as he lays down next to you, putting a loving touch on your waist.

"Can't you see I'm trying to sleep?"

You say as you don't even turn around to look at him, and he pulls his arm back in response.

"(y/n), stop being like this. I'm trying go apologize to you."

He says, obviously getting annoyed as he sits back up. You didn't say anything, but just pulled the covers up more. Maybe you were being a little bit much, but you were tired, and to be fair you actually were trying to rest.

"You're acting so childishly (y/n), honestly."

He says, and you tense at his words as you sit up and turn towards him, exhausted and completely fed up.

"Oh, so I'm the only one at fault here? And I'm being the childish one?"

"YES."

He snaps, and you feel yourself being pushed to the end of your rope.

"FINE. You know what? I'll just go sleep on the couch. If you want space, you can have it."

You eventually state as you throw the bedsheets to the side, immediately getting up and walking to your living room. You then flop down on the cushions as you bring a thin blanket over yourself, and you lay awake for what seemed to be forever, unable to rest because you were overthinking what would happen to your relationship because of tonight. Of course, you still loved L, but he was just so unbelievably stubborn sometimes that it drove you crazy.

After a few hours of you not moving as you tried to sleep, you hear quiet footsteps coming over next to you, soon bending over and picking you up, obviously thinking you were long asleep by that point.

"Mmh...Put me down..."

You mumble as he shifts you upwards so that your head was resting on his shoulder, too tired to get out of his grasp.

"Sleeping on the couch is bad for your back. Just come back to bed with me, please. I'm sorry that I'm stubborn and started an argument. I love you. I love you more than anything in this whole world. Please forgive me, you weren't the one at fault and I shouldn't have ever blamed you. Also I can't sleep without you or even get comfortable. I...I need you (y/n)...more than you would ever know..."

L mumbles back as you almost instinctively wrap your arms loosely on his shoulders. Before you could protest, you had already been put down on the soft mattress. A quick peck on your forehead later, you feel the covers being pulled up over your shoulders, and someone getting in bed with you, but not trying to cuddle and making sure to give you space. Before you knew it, you had fallen asleep for the first time tonight. Peacefully though, not really.

"It's over between us (y/n). I don't see how you can't understand something as simple as this."

"L...p-please...no. I'm sorry fo-"

"I don't want to hear it. Just stop there."

"n-no...I'm so sorry...I-it's my fault we-"

"Yes, it is. Finally you get it."

He says as he stands before the door, looking back with absolutely no expression whatsoever.

"And for the record (y/n)...I never did actually love you."

He coldly says as he exits the apartment. After a little while with you standing completely alone and distraught, You wake up with tears streaming down your face, and someone softly shaking you.

"(y/n)...wake up, you're having a bad dream."

L says softly as he shifts closer. As soon as you realize it was just a dream, you sit up and look towards your boyfriend, who looked a mix of tired, sad, and worried. As soon as you realize that your dream wasn't a reality, you quickly wrap your arms around him and push yourself into his chest, silently crying again as you see how stupid and irrational you were being earlier.

"Shh...(y/n)...you're ok."

He mumbles as he begins running his hand down your hair. After a little while, you begin to calm down, and he parts your hair to the side before he speaks.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

He softly asks as he distances himself.

"Y-you were leaving me."

You answer bluntly as you sniff, and his hand finds its way up to your cheek.

"(y/n)...I'm so sorry. It's my fault you dreamed that. I shouldn't have started an argument with you. The last thing I ever want to do is make you this upset..."

He says, sounding rather guilty as he pulls you in.

"No no...please don't think it's your fault...I really was the one being irrational."

You say as you squeeze back lightly, making him put his head into your hair.

"You were never at fault. For one, I'm extremely stubborn, and I know it too. And...second...I-I'm never home....I'm always working...I never am able to make time for you, even though I want to so badly... Really...It's n-no wonder...You think I d-don't care..."

He stutters, his voice shaking as he sniffs occasionally, making you tense up only slightly.

"Hey...please look at me..."

You say, and he turns his head before you slowly and softly pull your lips together while you squeeze him in tighter. He accepts the gesture immediately by placing his large cool hands on your cheeks, and you eventually pull off and touch your foreheads together.

"Of course you care. I've never once thought different."

You softly respond as you kiss his lips again, making sure he knew you loved him.

"But...You have to admit that I was right this time."

You tease, making him let out a small sigh as he smiles only slightly.

"Yes...I'll admit that you were."

He responds before pecking your nose softly, soon after wrapping you in his arms.

"Now...it's extremely late and you need some proper sleep. I'm right here with you if you wake up again, ok?"

He says in a low tone, and you nod before nuzzling into his chest.

"And (y/n)?"

"Mm?"

"I love you no matter what. Too much for my own good in fact. Please don't forget that."

He says, kissing your lips extremely softly before you slip into a finally peaceful slumber next to him.
