He was supposed to be on a hike with some of his friends, but that plan quickly went south in many ways. They had forgotten a lot of supplies, not knowing that they would need some things, and soon they became lost in the thick wood that they had decided to venture into.

Now, this had been the first time any of them had gone hiking and didn't know that if you go off of the trail and didn't know the land, you would become severely, lost which they did. They discovered that it wasn't all that much fun if you weren't good at it or didn't have a guide.

Smitty, our main focus, had accidentally dropped his map while climbing one of the hills and thus had lost their only means of getting back to the real world. They had no service and had no idea where the nearest campsite would be, so this situation was not ideal.

Once the got to a clearing, they noticed the sun was getting close to setting and it was about to get dark.

"Um guys, we should probably hurry, the sun is about to set." One of them, Grizzy, said. Everyone nodded and they started to walk again. Soon, though, things got weird.

"Guys," the tallest, Fitz, started while looking around, "where's Swagger?"

Everyone pauses and looks around, noticing that the small man is gone. This makes them all panic.

"We need to find him before we leave and before the sun sets," Smitty says and they all agree, turning to go back into the forest.

After an hour of searching it starts to get dark and they're still looking for their short friend. There are no signs of him and everyone is getting worried. They've started to yell for the man to at least yell back and say that he's ok. They get no response.

Smitty sits down on a near by rock with tears in his eyes threatening to fall.

"We're never gonna find him, at this rate he could be dead or maybe he found his way out of the forest." He says, his eyes drooping and words slurring with tiredness.

"Hey, you can't talk like that, we're gonna find him and get out of here." Toby reasons, patting the man oh the back. "For now, lets all go to sleep for now, we'll get up at sunrise and go looking again." She says, sitting down on the floor with her back propped up against a tree. The others either sit down or they lean against a tree, other's have almost given up hope on finding their friend for the night but Toby's words helped a bit. They decide to camp out in the clearing Smitty had taken a seat in. They all picked spots to lie down and rest for the night. All of them starving and all of them tired, ready to be saved.

Sometime in the night, probably just after 4 am, Smitty wakes up suddenly, having heard something, or someone. He tosses and turns, but he can't get back to sleep after he's woken up. Eventually, he just ends up staring at the trees that seemed to go on forever and the stars and moon that were just barely peeking through the leaves. He hopes the way the trees move in a light of the moon would be enough to lull him to sleep again, to no avail.

It's been quite some time since he had woken up and Smitty still can't seem to fall asleep, for some reason, whether that be fear or worry or guilt or something else, he can't seem to shake a bad feeling. In a last-ditch attempt to get rid of the feeling, he decides to go for a walk, using his phone as a flashlight.

Walking around at night helped calm the man's nerves and soon he became lost in his thoughts, not hearing the footsteps following him. He walked for some time, and when he stopped, he realized he had no idea which way was to go back to the campsite. After his initial panic, he decided to turn around and head in the opposite direction of what he was just walking in. He walked past many different trees that he could barely see in the dark, and behind one of those trees waited a dark presence.

Suddenly, after Smitty passes a certain tree, he's grabbed and pulled into a headlock with someone's hand over his mouth, making him drop his phone and grab onto the arm of the person nearly strangling him.

"Hey there, beautiful, I've been watching you for quite some time now, I just wanted to take you home." A voice whispers into his ear as his eyes widen and he starts to thrash and squirm, but he can't get out or even scream to alert someone. "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you, you're too beautiful to be damaged." The man says. Smitty does what anyone should do in this situation and hits the man right in the groin. The man keels over in pain and lets go of Smitty who bolts, not knowing which way to go.

Run, Was the only thought on his mind. Run fast and don't look back. He repeated, his feet pound the ground as he sped through the dense woods.

As he ran, his body filled more and more with terror and anxiety, his legs pushing himself as far as he could. His breath became harsh and uneven, drawing in as much air as he could while still getting as far away from the person chasing him.

"You bitch! Get back here!" The man shouts, but Smitty keeps running, getting faster as he starts to hear loud footsteps behind him approaching. His feet moved faster than they had before, and he hoped he was going in the right direction, or at least in the direction of someone.

He nearly tripped on rocks and tree roots jutting out of the ground, and the way the earth was rough and mountainous beneath his feet, causing him to stumble as he ran.

"You better stop and maybe I'll be nice!" The man yelled at the terrified man he was chasing, who was in no way going to slow down or god forbid stop.

"SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!" He screams, continuing to run from the person behind him. He chose to turn around and saw that the man quite far behind him, but he keeps running as fast as he can. When he turns back to face where he was running only to be stopped abruptly from hitting a firm yet cushioned surface.

An arm wraps around him and for some reason, he feels safe in the person's arms, but he still tries to get out of this new person's grasp.

Then, there's a gunshot and a cry of pain that sounded behind Smitty, he freezes in the persons arms. Soon he turns around and sees the man who had tried to take him on the ground, about 5 yards away, clutching his ankle which is bleeding out and had the bone peeking out.

Smitty's eyes are blown open wide as he took in the sight in front of him. He collapses and starts to cry, feeling like he was going to vomit. Today had been a shit show for him. With everything that happened to him and how it ended with him almost getting abducted by a stalker had him a little shaken, to say the least. He sat on the ground of the forest crying and trying to figure out what he'll do next, try to find his way back to the camp or try to find his way out. He nearly forgets about the man standing behind him until someone kneels next to him and starts to rub his back.

"Hey, hey, it's ok, you're ok now. I found you and I'm gonna help you get out of here." The man said in a calming voice that immediately made Smitty calm a bit, but not make him drop his guard.

"What-what about my friends, they're lost somewhere in there, we need to find them," Smitty says, turning to look around, hoping to maybe see one of his companions hiding in the trees, to no avail. No one comes out.

"Your friends are safe, I was out just doing a scope of the area to make sure there weren't any people that got lost and luckily found them in a clearing. They said you and one other person were still in here, the other guy was already safe out of the forest at the front entrance, and after about half an hour of looking, I found you being chased by that guy." Smitty looked at the person who had saved him for the first time, and to say he's attractive would be the understatement of the year. He has short brown hair parted down the middle and beautiful eyes that Smitty can't discern the color of, he has a soft expression on his face that brought out the features on his face, such as the mole on the left side of his upper lip. Speaking of lips...

Before his mind could completely drift off, Smitty realized exactly what the man said.

"Wait, what time is it?" He asked suddenly, taking the time to look around and notice that there was sun peeking through the leaves and trunks of the trees.

"It's just about 7:00, your friends say that when they woke up around 5 you were gone, they found me soon after calling out your name which I heard."

"That leads me to the next question: who are you?" Smitty says, confusion laced in his voice.

"I'm John Keyes, the park ranger here," He, John, says, "You're Smitty, right? Cause if you aren't then I got the wrong guy." Smitty giggles a bit at that.

"No, I am Smitty, it's nice to meet you, John. Though I wish it were under better circumstances." They smile at one another before a groan brings them back to the real world.

"As for you. You will be arrested for attempted abduction, you will have your wound treated before being taken to jail. A car will be here in 10 minutes to pick us all up, I suggest you stay down unless you want a bullet in your other leg." John says firmly, standing up and holding out his hand for Smitty to take. God damn. That was kinda hot. Smitty thinks in awe of the man standing before him.

The two men not in pain on the ground started to talk, finding out that they had many things in common, like their love of video games and their sense of humor. Soon the car had arrived, they loaded the wounded stalker into the back where he was seated with a medic and a guard just to be safe. Smitty and John took the front, John at the driver's seat and Smitty next to him in the passenger's seat.

Once they arrived at the entrance to the forest, Smitty could see all of his friends waiting for him. He jumps out of the car and ran, full speed towards them, almost jumping onto the closest person who just so happened to be Fitz.

"Oh my god I thought you were gone." The tall man cried as he caught the younger, hugging him tightly. Everyone else crowds around them and makes a big group hug. After a good few minutes they all let go. Smitty turns to look at the man who saved him.

"Thank you so much, John. Is there anything I can do to repay you?" Smitty asks.

"There is one thing, let me treat you to a dinner or something like that." John replies, handing Smitty a piece of paper with a phone number on it and writing that said 'call me -John' Smitty's face gets red and he nods.

"Sounds good, I'll see you later." John nodded his head at the blushing boy and walked over to the car, driving off to presumably take the stalker away. Smitty just stares after him in awe of what just happened.

"Get some!" Swagger yells at him.

"Shut up!" Smitty's face gets infinitely more red. "He didn't say it was a date, he could just want to get to know me, we bonded after I was almost kidnapped."

"Wait you whAT!" Fitz says. "How come you didn't tell us before!"

"You didn't give me a chance!" Smitty defended himself.

"He's right about that." Grizzy, who had been silent up until now, spoke up.

"Ok well, you still shouldn't have said it so nonchalantly." Fitz crosses his arms like the sad he is. "So what exactly happened?"

"Well..."
