"Remember, you have to find the cosines before you can..."

All the rest just muffled in my head. I wish he could just speak English for once, instead of these impossible mathematical formalisms. Trigonometry was my weakness in math and we had to take it in our Year 10, which was obscure.

I understood math sometimes, but when it comes to Mr. Lee, you can't understand crap.

A note smacked my hand that laid limp on the desk. I scoffed and looked around to see that it was thrown by Haechan. He always picked on me and I didn't see why. I slowly opened the note, so Mr. Lee wouldn't notice, I made sure it was in my desk.

After completely opening it, I sighed at the words.

Hey babe, you don't look like a changneo today... congratulations.

I stuffed the note in my desk and looked up, to make sure I didn't cry in the middle of class. Changneo pretty much means slut, so I was offended this time, I admit. Who wouldn't be offended by those words though.

"(Y/n)!" The teacher roared. "Do you want to share with us how many squares are on the ceiling? Or are you going to pay attention?"

I looked at him and sighed. "Sorry seonsaengnim..." I muttered, loud enough for him to hear me.

"Anyway, we are doing a project to help troubled students with the subject." He started, receiving groans from practically everyone. "I will pair some troubled students with the more advanced students, and you all will finish pages 430-435."

I groaned internally. How is a project making it easier? And those pages were a quiz, how was I to survive this?

"First, we'll pair Dongshin with Saengrin." He began again. He listed off the names until I was left. With who though? "And finally (Y/n) will be paired with Haechan."

My head smacked on the desk, surprisingly unnoticed by everyone. Haechan?! You mean the one that just assaulted me verbally AND physically.

"We have some free time for class so I suggest you start now."

Next thing I know I was sitting next to Haechan. We were both exchanging glares while we both individually worked on our books. He wasn't struggling one bit, but I was and I didn't want to admit it, because I didn't want any help from him.

"Y-you did that one wrong."

I looked at him. "Thanks I'll take a note of it." I mumbled.

"You need help? I mean we're partners for a reason." He scoffed.

"No. We aren't 'partners'."

"Actually we are. And we only have five minutes left, so.." he took out a sticky note and wrote numbers and some odd letters.

"What are you doing?"

"Giving you my number and address."

"Why?"

"Because, we are working on a project together. What do you think I am, a snapping turtle? I don't bite."

"I would rather work with a snapping turtle." I mumbled.

He gave me the sticky note, and I swore I saw him smile. "Call me when you're home and then we'll set up a time and date to work on this. You can use the help."

I punched his number in and stared at my phone for a while. I can't believe I'm about to call the biggest bully in school.

My finger seemed to have a mind of its own and slam against the call button. I bit my lip and put the phone up to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Haechan. It's (Y/n)."

"Hey! So... what's the plan?"

He sounded... different. He sounded happier.

"Uh... c-can I just come over now? So we can just get it done."

"Of course. Just bring all your stuff."

Soon I was out the door and miserably walking to Haechan's house - holding my books - which was really close. He was on the same street; that kinda scared me.

I knocked on his door and he answered with a smile on his face. "Hi (Y/n). Welcome to the Lee Donghyuck household."

I suppressed a smile. "Honored." I mumbled.

He invited me in and my mouth dropped at the size of his house. "Do you want some cha?"

Tea. That sounds good. "Yes please." He left to the kitchen. I followed him and sat down at the island bar stool. "Jeez, I would've been nicer to you." I said under my breath.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. Are you ready?"

"What do you think?"

"Ok, let's start." He set his books down next to me and I set my books down next to those.

The session was good - I hate to admit. He taught me ways to use cos() and sin(). At some points our hands would brush against each other and for some god awful reasons, I blushed. Maybe I like him. I mean, he's hot, so I guess that's a reason. He would laugh with me too, and his laugh was amazing.

Now that explains why are faces are this close. I cleared my throat and leaned away. "Um, thank you. Everything was good. I mean-- the tea and the tips. I might not fail thank you."

He smiled. "Yeah you struggled."

"Well I am just a changneo.." I mumbled, still hurt by his note that he threw at me in Math.

He looked down. "Look, I'm really sorry about that, I don't know what I was thinking. And I'm sorry for everyone else picking on you. You don't deserve it, you're funny and beautiful."

I blushed again. "Uh, thanks."

"And I know I've been a dickhead, but I want to ask you something. Can we be friends?"

I nodded. "Yes."
