He pulled over at a drug store.  "What are you doing?"

"Getting you a bandage for your ankle and some first aid for your knee.  He was right, you have great legs, and we can't be letting you get any scars."  He winked, then hopped out.

It's raining hard, so he ducked in as fast as he could as the windshield wipers worked overtime to clear my view.

He is by far the strongest man I've ever known. I turned up the radio so I could hear the weather if it came on, since my phone isn't getting the best reception.

He came back cussing with a bag in his hand and he hands it to me.  "There's some triple antibiotic ointment, Band-Aids, and an ace bandage for your ankle."  He's soaked straight through.

"What's the whiskey for?"

"Me, when I get home." He answers.

He gets us back on the main road and there's so much lightning, it's almost daylight at almost 11 pm.

"Maybe we should pull over and let it pass,"  I suggested.

"We should get ahead of it soon."  He responded.

The cars stopped ahead of us and a police officer in a raincoat and hat knocked on our window.  "There's a tree down ahead, so the roads closed. I suggest you head back to town."  He said.

"Is there a side road we can take?"  Of course he won't take the advice of a cop.

"Yeah,"  he went on with his directions, then Gavin turned the car around.

"Maybe we should head back to town."  I again suggested.

"It'll pass." He sat up straight to see a little better.  The only noise we heard was the windshield wipers and the booms of thunder outside the car.

He pulled on a country road, and it was even harder to see without the street lights guiding our way.

"I still think we should have gone back to town." I crossed my arms and pouted.

"Oh, shit!" He slammed on his breaks just as I saw a tree come down in front of us, and now we are in a field after being bounced around in the car.

"Son of a bitch!" He punched the steering wheel.  He has a huge gash on his head.

He jumped out of the car, so I followed suit and hopped to the driver's side and saw the front end was sunk in mud.

"I can put some weight on the front end," I suggested.

"You don't weigh anything, Kori."

"Go sit on the front end and I'll back it up."  I again suggested something.  It's pouring rain and freezing.

"Its buried, we need a tow truck." He reaches inside the car, then cursed again when he realized there was no service.

He pulled at his tie and yelled at me to get back in the car or I'll catch my death or some bullshit.

I sat for about a minute when my door swung open.

"Grab that bag and your stuff."  I grabbed everything, just before he picked me up and the freezing rain assaulted me.

"There's an abandoned cabin, so maybe there's some blankets and fireplace."  He said.

I was shivering in his arms as he finally reached the cabin.  Thankfully, the door wasn't locked and we made our way inside.  He sat me down on a dusty old couch and used his cellphone for light.  He found some matches, candles, and one single dusty blanket.

There is a fireplace, but I'm weary.

"Maybe that's not a good fireplace.  What if it blows smoke in?"

He twisted something above the fireplace.  "It has a flue."  He said.

He did manage to light it and the few logs inside going, but it barely put off heat.

He grabbed the bag and pulled out his whiskey and took a swig, then handed it to me.  "It may or may not warm you up, but will help with the pain."

He pulled off his jacket.  "Take off those clothes."  He handed me a blanket.  "I won't look, Kori."

Is he kidding me?

I did what he said while he looked out the poor excuse of a window and pulled his tie off.

I pulled my dress off and wrapped up in the blanket.  He then sat on the couch and told me to give him my ankle.  "He's right, it's not broken, but it's sprained.  Damn, You're freezing." He said.

He wrapped my ankle and I saw him shivering and knew he was just as cold as me.

"Leave your...underwear on and we'll share body heat, but your hands stay to yourself,"  I suggested.

He reached for his tie to pull on it, but it was gone, he cleared his throat.  "That's probably not a good idea." I got up and hopped closer to the fire and sat on the floor.

"Its a very bad idea, but you're going to get sick."

He took a swig of whiskey.  "Fine."

Oh, God...

I turned around and didn't look as he undressed and put his clothes next to mine by the fire.

"Okay, so how are we going to do this?"

"Umm..I'll close my eyes and you do the same.  Stand behind me and wrap it around both of us."

I squeezed my eyes shut until we were sitting on the floor in front of the fire with him behind me.

"You're freezing, Kori.  I'm so sorry,  this whole day is my fault, and it all started this morning."  He had his arms wrapped around mine, and I'm leaning back against him.

"I don't know what you did, but I'm sure it can be fixed.  Is it something I can help with?"

"No, but I'm sorry."  He said.

"Did you do something to me?"  I had to ask.

"Not directly, I did it to myself.  It'll be okay."  He kissed the top of my head.

Why does he do that?

"Can I take a guess and you won't be mad?"  I asked.

"Don't worry about it."  He said.

"You had sex with that woman this morning, and feel guilty because you're telling me who I can and can't date."  I looked back at him, and he just stared at me.

I wanted to slap myself for saying that word, but he reached out for the bottle and took a swig, then handed it to me.

"I've been frustrated lately, and yes, I did do what you said, but I don't feel guilty about telling you not to go out with Quinn.  I'm mad at myself because I was thinking of you when I did it."
