I was shocked when he opened his own door and told Regi to stay in his seat.  I smiled at him, then he did it again.  Placed his hand on my back, and I shivered.  I heard him chuckle.

He won, I guess.

The hostess led us to our table, but this time it wasn't a man waiting for us.  "Gavin!  Darling, you look as sexy as ever."  The tall brunette kisses his cheek.  Slut

"Grabriella Wainscott this is my assistant, Miss. Korilee Heart."

I held out my hand.  "You can call me Kori."  She smiles and shakes my hand.  "Sweetheart, you are a knockout!  Wow, Gavin, you've got the cream of the crop."

"Thank you." I guess?

"She's a handful actually." He chuckled as he pulls out my seat.

I bite my tongue.  I promised civil and I'll do my part.

They talked business the entire time.  I took notes and was unable to eat as the woman nibbled on her salad.  I wish I could grab a fork and stuff it down her throat.  Who eats like that?  Birds, birds eat like that.

"Well, thanks for a great lunch.  Send the contract over, Gavin.  I believe we have a deal." We all stood up and she hugged me before kissing asshole on the cheek, whispering something before she walked away.  He looked at me. "Sit." He ordered.

I did as told and tried to finish my note,s but he took my pen.  "Eat, you didn't get a chance.  I don't want to pick your ass up off the floor later because you didn't eat."

"My ass?  You really wonder why I have an attitude?"

He glared at me, then ordered a scotch.

"I'll take a white wine."

"Your working."  He glared at me again.

"Fine, I'll just take a refill of my water.  Thank you. Your working, too!"

"No, I'm sitting in a restaurant waiting for my assistant to finish her meal."

"Excuse me."  I look up and see a man that looks familiar.

"I'm sorry for staring during your lunch, but aren't you Kori Heart?  You went to Notre Dame?"

I stood.  "Yes, do I know you?" I shook his hand.

 "Blake Hornsby, Kellen's friend."

"Oh, right.  Captain of the football team.  How is life treating you?"

"Am I interrupting a date?"  He asked.

"Oh no, this is my boss.  Gavin Harddic..Hardwick." The boss man whipped his neck around and gave me a funny look.

"Nice to meet you, sir."  Asshole barely paid attention, but shook his hand anyway.

"Well, I'd love to catch up.  Here's my card, maybe you'll call me for dinner sometime?"

I took it.  "She's busy." Asshole answers for me, but I just rolled my eyes and looked at Blake.  "Sure, I'm free Thursday night, actually."

"Sure, I am too.  Just text me your address.  Does 7:30 work?"

"Yes, that's perfect."

"I'll see you then, Kori.  I'm really looking forward to seeing you again."

"You too, Blake.  Take care."

"Bye now."

I sat back down.  "What is your problem?"

"You're on the clock, Miss. Heart.  No flirting during business hours."

"Well, when am I not on the clock?  So far I'm already missing out of friends night Saturday."

"You have an important job."

"I also have a personal life."

He didn't say a word, but just took a sip of his drink.

I took a bite of my food and chased it down with my water. "I have an awesome idea.  How about Gavin worries about his personal life and Kori worries about her own?"

I took another bite and ate as quickly as possible.

He reached for his wallet and put his card on the table before finishing his drink.

"Sounds like a great idea, and when an asshole like that one screws you over, don't come in the office crying.  It is a place of business."

"Really?  I couldn't tell with your lawyer practically humping my leg and your groping yesterday."  I took another bite and smirked.

He turned and looked at me.  "What were you going to say earlier?  Harddick?"  He leaned in.  "You couldn't handle it, Kori.  I'd tear you in two."

I choked on my water and leaned into his ear.

"I guess we will never know, will we?"  I grabbed my notebook and stormed out of the restaurant.

Regi's eyes were huge as I stormed toward the car.  "I got it!" I swung open the door and slid in.  "You can leave him here."

He just shook his head and tried to hide a smile.

"I've never met such an egotistical, foul mouthed prick in my life!"

Regi didn't dare respond.  I stared out the window and waited for the man who once again proved he's my biggest enemy.  Sometimes I wish he would fire me so I can collect unemployment.

Damn, it's only my second day!

Asshole slid in and flung a card at me.  "You forgot something."

I stuffed it in my purse and crossed my arms.  Staring out the window and stewing seemed like the best thing to do at the moment.

Seems my prick of a boss thinks it's the best too.

As soon as the car stopped, I opened my door, but a hand pulled me inside just in time as the car door rips off from a passing vehicle.

"Jesus fucking Christ, Kori!"

"I'm sorry, Regi."

"Regi?  This is my damn car!" He screams at me.

"Thank you for saving my life, but it wouldn't have been necessary if you treated me like a human being, and don't curse to Jesus!"

"You have to be kidding me?  Are you kidding me?"  He looks at me in disbelief.

"Let me out!"

"No!"

"Fine!"

I start crawling over him again.  "Can't even exit a car like a normal..person when we go places."  I bitch as I maneuver over him.

"Stop!" He yells, and holds me in place by my hips.

"Don't you fucking move, Kori!'

"Miss. Heart." I corrected him.

"You're straddling me, so I think I have the right to call you by your first name."

"Miss. Heart."  I say under my breath and try to wiggle away.

"STOP, Dammit!"

"Fine, what?"  I sat up and crossed my arms.  Glaring down at him, I dared him to say the wrong thing.

"I was wrong to say what I did in the restaurant, but you've got to stop calling me names."

He looked up at me.

"Umm..sir?"  Regi tried to get his attention.

"Wait!"  He yelled at him.  "One problem at a time."

I saw a little head bob by the door and stop.  Craig's jaw drops and he sped away into the building.  I rolled my eyes.  My other enemy.

"If this is going to work, we have to be on the same side, and for the love of god, quit straddling me."

"You wouldn't let me out!"

"Fine, you got me there, but this is two days in a row.  Have some patience. You almost killed yourself."

"You keep talking about inappropriate things."  I pouted.

"What, sex? You're how old, Kori?"

"Miss Heart, and I'll be 25 next month."

"I get that you've been sheltered, but most..No, all women I know your age aren't virgins.  Especially when they look like you.  It's normal for, not only men, but women just the same, to tease and make comments.  It's not a dirty thing, and you're going to have to get used to it.  There are men like Craig everywhere, actually worse."

"Can I go now?"  I asked.

"Yeah, since obviously I have an insurance claim to deal with, but sit back down and I'll help you out so you don't crack your head open on the sidewalk."

"Fine."  I slid off his lap and he climbed out, then reached for my hand.  "Stand over there, because it looks like they're filing a police report. Don't go anywhere!"
