🎶 What really happens when the hero meets the villain?

Let's find out🎶

Furrowing my brows, I accept the fact that they left me and so I stand in the same spot, as other people are congregating waiting for something.

A pair of arms hug around my upper body and I almost push the person away before turning my head to know it's Zoey.

"Were you just walking around like a loner?" She greets me with her smile, I hug her back, her soft hands brush along my back for a while.

"I literally just noticed it." I reply, massaging my forehead, looking back to see if Tyler was actually gone.

"What do you mean?" She chuckles.

"I was walking with someone." I jokingly cross my arms.

"So, you finally started talking to other people?" Her head playfully tilts to the side moving her curtain fringe to the same direction.

"Now you won't have to hear my annoying voice as much." I scrunch my nose.

Her eyes flutter and her thoughts seem to stumble over each other inside her mind.

Her head sits up straight up with her lips pressed together.

"You know, I don't mind that at all." She moves closer to me, to the point her perfume wraps my body.

"I know, but I really don't understand how I'm at ease with him. His name is Tyler and he does, not, stop, talking, he's like a parrot! It's funny and stupid at the same time but-"

Her smile shortens and her gaze is lowered, massaging her hands.

"So I guess he was the one I was ditched for..."

I'm speechless for a moment. It really wasn't my intention to hurt her in any way, but I can't tell her the real reason. I try to gulp but my mouth is dry.

"That's not what happened, just I completely forgot about it, there were delays in the simulation test and the serum knocked me out." I start biting the inside of my cheek not knowing what to say anymore, I know she didn't believe what I said but there's no way I can put her in possible danger.

She huffs letting her shoulders slump,

"Whatever it was, just don't push me away again Luna."

I start biting the inside of my cheek not knowing what to say anymore.

By this time there are more people huddling around the same spot we're standing, most are looking at the screen.

She exhales, rolling all her long black hair into her fist before letting it fall behind her back. She eases the tension as she links her arm with mine.

And like always the anger just disappears.

We wait for something to appear on the screen and within seconds a list of names separated by four columns slide in, and the first thing my eyes look out for is Mike's name. I want nothing to stop me from upgrading and so if it means sticking beside a 40 year old man with anger issues is what's going to save me, then so be it...

His name appears on the second column and below it, Tyler's name pops up, along with mine and Zoeys, two other names follow but I'm not familiar any of them, but my gut seems to think otherwise about a Meghan...

"Omg look there, in the second column," She points out forward removing her arm from me.

"Yes, I see it-"

"This whole place is better than the East, because normally we would've been told all of this, personally." She shakes her head in bewilderment.

After the last column of names show up, the scene becomes loud with footsteps as a significant number of people leave the hall. Presumably it's only the people on the list who stand here with us.

"Do you have an idea who the mentor is... Michael Hillswood looks like?" Her groomed brows lift up.

I really wish I didn't...

"Yeah I've seen him around."

"Wait, so is he your mentor?" She moves to face me, only to leave a gap for Tyler to come in along with his excitement.

"Bro it seems like we have our first mission together!" He lightly punches my arm, which somehow relaxes me from my previous conversation, I can't help but to smile at him. Zoey becomes confused.

And so I introduce Tyler to Zoey.

"...Zoey, Tyler." My hands point to them when mentioning their names.

Tyler goes in for a handshake, but Zoey totally ignores him and shows him a small smile.

A toneless voice is heard from behind me.

"Is Michael here?" The same witch-I mean girl who seems to be obsessed with Tyler inserts herself inside our semi-circle, standing on her toes with her eyes darting around the hall looking for Mike but then gets distracted by a conversation with Tyler.

"Do you know her as well?" Zoey whispers to me, with a hint of disappointment on her face.

"Not on purpose... really I only met her a few seconds ago." I reassure her.

She seemed to have more questions running through her mind, but Mike's voice immediately disrupts her.

"Where the hell Sebastian?" He places his clipboard to his chest but we all reply with shrugs except Tyler.

"You know he's always late sir." He states and Mike suddenly remembers the apparently common fact and guides us away. Silently we walk in line leaving the hall, being one of three groups.

During our walk to his office, I was very thankful for Tyler's never-ending conversation because it was the only way to escape Zoey's questions. She knows when I'm lying, because I know a lot about her life as she knows about mine. For the best and the worst.

Zoey was the last one inside, so she calmly closes the door and Mike proceeds on telling us what's going on. He sets down his clipboard and reaches below his oak desk where there is a wide silver coated box which he opens. Tyler walks to his side, near the door and asks him if he wants any help but Mike rejects his offer before explaining.

"There has been a quiet breach in the South Coast, there's a chance that CC are going infiltrate the boats, possibly to harm the people inside and fleet the country. The group already there needs extra assistance," From the box, he slips out 2 garment bags and hands it over to Zoey and I.

Curiously, mine becomes unzipped on the touch of my hands and it reveals my new uniform.

"Due to our small numbers, we will use motorbikes to reach the place faster and I will separate you all into smaller groups, so we can reach different grounds more efficiently." He tidies up the box to its original place and takes a sip of his coffee.

I slightly fold the outfit over my arms. Mike's hands reach for his back pocket and it leaves with keys.

Instantly the door swings wide open almost crushing Tyler against the wall.

"Shit! I'm sorry Ty!" The tall, slim guy reaches over Tyler's hunched body, but Tyler quickly dismisses him with a few waves and slightly limps my way to stand between Meghan and I.

The guy chuckles to himself, turning around blowing his ginger curls out of his face stopping to greet Zoey and I. He sends a nod in my direction before turning to Zoey.

"You must be the new ones," He flexes his handsome jawline and extends his bony hand to her.

She timidly shakes the pale hand and he charmingly winks at her but she seems as disinterested as Meghan once she knew we were in the same group as her.

"Oh tough crowd..." He utters to himself before pushing his tongue against his cheek.

Mike lets out an annoyed breath.

"Now that you are all here." He jiggles the keys and throws one to Sebastian and points at Zoey.

"You're with her." Zoey's face wallows in disbelief a very funny contrast with Sebastian's reaction.

He walks over to me dangling another key, I reach out to take it but he rapidly takes it back.

"Can you ride a motorcycle?"

"Did you read my details?" I backfire, he stares at me but only responds by handing me the key. He then announces.

"You're with Tyler-"

"What?!" Meghan awakens from her deep state of boredom. Mike turns to her.

"You're with me, I need to get you to check some things for me." She looks at Tyler trying to get him to reason with Mike but he turned his body to me the same minute. Smiling ear to ear.

"Tell me you actually know how to use one because I don't feel like dying today." He leans forward and I look up to meet his face.

"I wasn't planning on dying today too." I smile back and notice Meghan's wrath boiling her insides as she leaves the office, slamming the door on her way out.

"Guess we're all ready to leave!" Sebastian jumps before reopening the door for Zoey, she rolls her eyes exiting out and he skips after her.

We use the elevator instead of the stairs to go down to the underground floor. It's place where they park all their vehicles; cars, vans, motorbikes, etc... At East Camp we rarely used any vehicles but any chance we had I always chose the motorbike.

It's only a single corridor when the elevator doors open with two doors counting the exit one on the far end of the corridor. Zoey and I enter the bathroom to get changed, while the rest walk on.

We walk in and get inside the closest stalls. The uniform is a mostly light grey jumpsuit, with blue lines covering the sides of my body since my colour is Blue. It has more protective gear on the top half, but it seems more lighter than the old one I had. Most of the uniform used on missions against the CC are white or grey because they are usually in black, so it's easier to distinguish between them and the people on our side. My old boots are originally white but became grey from missions, so it matched the new uniform.

"Please don't get kidnapped by the CC." Zoey warns me from the other stall before I open the door to leave.

"Same thing for you!" I shout back, leaving my previous clothes in the corner of that bathroom. I walk out and move along the corridor to open the exit door and go down the 2 flight of steel stairs that lead to large indoor parking lot with a wide opening to the outside that the white lights above this place are barely visible due to the late summers sun.

Mike instructed me to follow the main road behind a black van so that it would lead us to one of the boats around the coast.

Everything seems to be built with concrete with thick,  pillars holding the high ceiling above us, so the fresh outside air was dancing around the place.

I stroll around the vehicles, noticing everything is organized by height and weight, the motorbikes being the smallest were closer to gates. I keep on walking until I spot Tyler fiddling with his helmet.

"Do you know how to put it on?" I joke as he turns the helmet once again until he is satisfied enough to put it on. He pushes a button at the side which automatically opens the visor.

"I'm not that dumb." He kisses his teeth before passing me another helmet. I swiftly put it on and began examining the motorbike in awe. I try to scratch my forehead only to notice I have my helmet on.

"Why are all the good stuff here in the Centre, it's completely unfair!" I walk around it inspecting certain differences to the one I had at the East.

"It doesn't really matter now, since you're here." His eyes meet mine.

A motorbike passes by from the other side of the gate and it's Mike with Meghan behind.

"Why are you two still here? Go now!" Although his helmet completely covered his mouth... His voice was still loud enough for Zoey, who was now at the top of the stairs, to hear it.

Within the same second Tyler and I jump on the motorbike and immediately get onto the road, as Mike impatiently opened the gate for us before leaving.

I start to realize this thing goes way faster than any bike I used on my last camp, so I decide to test it out, completely forgetting that Tyler is here with me...

Without any warning I slowly lean forward as I'm increasing its speed, feeling like I'm floating around until Tyler's screams blast through my helmet.

His body almost rolls out of the seat, but I quickly catch on to his arm and wrap it around my waist more.

"I said don't kill me!" He proclaims and I take a quick look back at him to apologize but he's still in shock due to his hands being unable to rest around my waist. I slow down for a while to let him catch his breath.

I'm just excited to use this new bike, I've never seen anything like this before. This time I warn him before doing one last stunt.

"Hold on tight!" I wait until he follows my instructions and I immediately clutch in before giving it a bit of gas and quickly dump the clutch, as Tyler's voice is heard trembling through my helmet I cannot help but laugh. In my defense it was only a small wheelie...

The van finally emerges on the road, and I follow it. In no time, we reach the coast. The ride wasn't smooth as we were around multiple rocky hills and were in one currently.

From below the sun's light reflects across the crystal blue water. As we are approaching, we see a few yachts floating. There were still some people getting in. I decide to stop at the top of the hill. We must be helping rich people this time.

Today's weather is warm not excruciating hot but tolerable.

The minute I take off my helmet my face is welcomed by the salty ocean breeze which makes me feel at peace, but not for long.

"What the fuck? I told you not to kill me!" Tyler scolds at me while trying to stop himself from shaking with his lips quivering before bursting out in laughter. Most of the ride was quiet, he hasn't spoken since I did my last stunt, I must've scared him...

"Sorry I will never do that again! I promise." I laugh along holding on to his arms which now rest on my shoulders.

I fix the fly away curls from my ponytail and take a deep breath before analyzing the surroundings and quickly going over the mission in my head.

The van continues on moving and it's only us two planted on top of the hill with the yacht below. If you stood still enough, you could hear the waves slowly moving behind each other until they all hit the shore.

We were alerted that there was a suspicion of CC member roaming around the coast. Suspicions like this are usually dealt by the lower camps, but it doesn't stop the top troops from dealing it too. We were taught that if you find one member the rest of their team weren't too far. They could be trying to not only steal goods but also find a way of escaping the country to terrorize other countries. Long story short we are here to stop them, send them back to the camps and protect the civilians.

Tyler takes off by the narrow trail and I'm reminded to do the same, but the hill is quite steep, I take my time going down. Everything looks normal for now, there's a small number of people left, the last ones are getting in with a child and there is no sign of CC members.

We don't get too close to the citizens, so we watch from afar, until I get an idea. I start to walk closer to the entrance of the yacht but Tyler stops me.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm going to ask them if they saw any 'odd' behaviour." He squints his eyes at me and seems hesitant but ends following me.

Two men are helping a young girl walk to the entrance as she seems to be struggling to keep her head up.

"Hey there." I wave at them and suddenly their grip on the girl seem to get stronger.

We walk closer but their bodies block her from us.

"We just want to ask if any of you saw any suspicious people around here?"

One of the men shoulders subtly drop in relief and he takes a quick look around and responds.

"Sorry we thought you were one of them. There was a girl who seemed dangerous, I only saw her for half a second though..." The other man looks down at the girl.

"Can we go now? We feel extremely uncomfortable being exposed right now." Tyler politely lets them go and forces me to walk back with him.

"Why did you even bother talking to civilians, you never know if they know the difference between the CC and us for some we are all the same." He whispers to me, I ignore him for a while to look back at the girl, but the men turned her head away from my direction, which made me stop.

"What are they doing there?" I question but Tyler seems to know just as much as me.

"Bruh I don't know, they are civilians, we can't go there and cause chaos the Camp would literally kill us." We see the doors slowly closing as they were last ones getting in. He carefully turns me back around, so we stand with our backs facing the now moving yacht.

"Let's just tell Mike the CC are not here. Maybe they are on his side of the coast." I added with my hand brushing the top of my hair, looking at the stationed motorcycle on the hill, the sky was now a light orange colour.

"Mike?" He turns his perplexed face to me,

"Oh! You mean Michael, bro..." He chuckles, scratching his nose before continuing.

"Don't you have any patience they can be here any minute, you never know..."

It's as if they heard him.
