Keith has been managing his way into Lances head a lot lately. He'd known about his crush since the Galaxy Garrison. He thought when Keith was kicked out he'd never see the raven haired boy again and could get over it. Buuuuut, life had some different plans. Now they were teammates, seeing each other everyday and stuck floating around in space on the same ship.

Lance walked passed the training deck to see a shirtless sweaty Keith fighting a bot with his sword. He sliced off the simulators head and lowered his sword. Keith slung a towel around his neck and took a sip from his water bottle. He looked over just as Lance smacked face first into the wall.

"Oh my heck, Lance! What the quiznack?" Keith watched the scene play out as Lance fell to the floor.

"Ouch," Lance held his face in pain. "that really hurt."

"I bet." Keith said walking up next to him and squatting down before getting on his knees to inspect the blue paladins face.

"I'm fine." Lance pulled away before Keith jerked him back.

"Let me see." Keith grabbed his wrists and pulled them off. Blood was everywhere. Lance had gotten a bloody nose. "Holy mother of- one second. Keith ran over grabbing a clean towel and his water bottle. He got the white towel wet and began to clean off Lance's face carefully.

"It doesn't hurt." Lance said quietly as Keith helped clean up the blood.

Keith smiled and chuckled slightly. "There. Better?"

Lance noticed the close proximity between them and how... shirtless Keith was. He gulped. "Yeah..." Lances eyes surveyed the situation nervously.

"Here." Keith extended a hand not breaking eye contact and wearing a small smirk.

"Thanks." Lance gripped Keiths hand tightly as he pulled him up. "Odd considering your my rival."

Keith turned away rolling his eyes looking frustrated. Of course Lance went back to the whole made up rival thing. Keith doesn't want to be enemies with Lance, in fact, quite the opposite. Very opposite.

"What?" Lance was really clueless.

"Why are we rivals anyway." Keith glared at him walking back to grab his shirt.

"Because... because... we fight." Lance had trouble thinking of a reason.

"Yeah but we rarely do anymore anyway. Plus it was always over stupid and petty things." He pulled his shirt over his head covering himself causing Lance to frown slightly.

"Fine. We're rivals because..." Lance began but struggled to finish the sentence. "I-uh, I don't know."

"That's what I thought." Keith walked back to Lance standing fairly close causing Lance to gulp slightly.

"Keith?"

"Hm?"

"D-do you think we could um ever, well..., let's not be rivals." Lance couldn't bring himself to confess to Keith.

Keith had his hopes up the sentence would go the way he'd hoped for, but it took a turn. He supposed it was better than rivals but... still. He couldn't help but be disappointed. "I guess."

"You... guess?" Lance squinted and shoved his hands in his pockets nervously. "Look, if you hate me that much we don't have to be... not... rivals." He struggled to finish the sentence. He was trying to be careful as to not put Keith in the friend zone. He wanted to well put it out there that his option as 'boyfriend' was open.

"I don't hate you." Keith snapped.

"Then what's the matter?" Lance began to get frustrated.

"I-I can't tell you." Keith huffed picking up the towel angrily.

"Fine, then I'll tell you something. I..." Lance took in a deep breath. "I like you, a lot. And not in a friend or family kind of way. I want to be your best friend but also more than that at the same time." Lance was beginning to feel insane at hearing his own words. "Look, I want to... be your boyfriend."

Keith was absolutely stunned and shocked but yet had a small smile forming on his face. He simply nodded silently in astonishment. "Y-Yeah. Of course."

Lances head shot up at hearing the response. He was expecting something completely different. To get punched, yelled at, have a disgusted response. But this? This was beyond anything he could've thought of. Thats how he knew he wasn't dreaming. "Really? You're not messing with me?"

"Lance, I've liked you probably since our bonding moment." Keith laughed.

"And I don't even remember it. But I think I win because I've liked you since the Garrison." Lance said smugly.

"You do too remember the bonding moment, you just won't admit it!" Keith scowled playfully. Earning a chuckle from both of them.

They stared at each other for what felt like an eternity before leaning in for a kiss.

"Hey! Lance? Keith? You in here? We're going to start training!" Shiro yelled stepping in a split second after the boys quickly separated. The leader stared at them curiously. "Are you two Okay? You're both red."

"Yeah, just training hard y'know?" Lance rubbed his neck.

"Good to see your both working hard. I'm proud of you two. Oh and by the way, try to come up with a more believable lie. Lance, your wearing a jacket and don't even look tired." Shiro waved them off leaving.

"He scares me how well he picks up on those things." Lance laughed.
