I saw this was a pretty common thing to do, Altean Lance and Galra Keith. But I really like it so ye.
*This is taking place if Zarcon never turned evil*
Lance POV:

I flopped backwards onto my bed and put my hands over my face. I rubbed the stress from my eyes and rolled over cuddling into my sheets. My father wasn't listening to anything I had to say. My ideas are useful and helpful but he won't even listen long enough for me to suggest them. I'd begun to lose my temper and he yelled at me. He told me I was a prince and it was none of my concern. The worst of it was, he yelled at me in front of Keith.

Zarcon was here discussing plans and issues which means I can see my guard Keith. Did I mention I have a massive crush on him. Though it will never work. He's Galra, a boy, AND my guard. My father would never allow that especially considering I'm supposed to marry Allura, the future queen of Altea. Sure she's pretty, kind, and strong or whatever, I wouldn't mind marrying her if it wasn't for Keith.

I used to flirt with Allura sometimes, she'd roll her eyes like usual. But since I met Keith I withdrew from it completely. I couldn't think of anyone but him. Could you imagine him the future 'princess' of Altea? Didn't think so.

Though, I've been a little more risky lately. I started off with small comments. Usually complimenting him or being a little suggestively sarcastic. But it's progressively become more flirtatious and attempting to show interest. It's adorable because he's easily flustered too. I was careful never to do it around anyone though.

Maybe I should find him. No, I'm still kind of embarrassed about being yelled at. I'll get a glass of water or something. I stood up and slid open my door. I looked up to see a familiar figure. Speak of the devil.

Keith stood, his hand raised ready to knock. "Oh, um, hi, my lord." He bowed.

"You don't need to bow to me when no ones around Keith." I put my hand on his shoulder making him stand straight again. "and I've told you a billion times not to call me 'my lord' or 'master' or 'sir' or 'prince'. Call me Lance. L-A-N-C-E." I folded my arms like a child.

He rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Whatever you say Lance." He emphasized my name.

"Better. So, did you come to confess your undying love for me?" I asked beginning to walk as he followed.

"In your dreams. I came to check on you. You seemed upset after the incident with your father." He walked next to me but continued to stare forward at the hall ahead.

"Awe, Keith! You care! But no I'm fine. I just got a little heated was all." I nudged him lightly with my elbow. "Hey Keith?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you tired?" I stopped and looked at him seriously, face full of concern.

"No?" He said stopping face twisting into confusion.

"Are you sure? Cause you've been running through my mind all day." I smiled at his reaction. He stared for a moment before he understood it was another pick-up line.

"Seriously Lance?" He smiled and rolled his eyes and continued to walk and I started up next to him.

"What?! It's true!" I exclaimed defensively.

"You're such a flirt with everyone."

"Nope! Just you!" I smiled and stared into his large purple eyes.

"Why is that?" He asked stopping us again. "You flirt with me, why?"

I wasn't sure what to say. Do I confess, do I crack a joke and wait another day? But what compelled me to do this, I don't know.

"Because I'm in love with you." I said casually. His face was blank and impossible to read. I was sure I'd made a mistake by confessing but he cleared his throat gaining a light blush.

"I-I love you too." He said softly. I stared before quickly crashing our lips together. The kiss was soft but urgent.

When we parted we stared into each others eyes lovingly before Keith's seemed to flicker as reality sunk in.

"You're the prince, I really shouldn't..."

I cute him off. "Just pretend I'm not the prince. Just for a minute (or forever)." I mumbled the last part.

Keith seemed to think for a moment. "But you are."

"I really don't care. Not anymore. It's not as important as you." I caressed his cheek.

"But your dad and fiancé Allura..." he started again.

"Don't matter." I finished kissing his nose.

"Are you sure?" He asked one final time.

"More sure about this than I have been about anything in my life." I said kissing his nose again.

Keith waited a moment as if expecting me to change my mind and when I didn't a smile formed on his face. "So were really going for this?"

"I'm in if you are." I said getting close to him grabbing his vest pulling him in.

"I'm in." And with that I pulled him into another kiss.

=========

It had been months since me and Keith got together in secret and from that time, we'd both only gotten more attached and grown more fond of one another.

Occasionally when someone wasn't looking we'd do thinks like wink at each other or blow a kiss, mostly just for the fun of not being caught.

All was going amazing and the only thing I'd change would be our inability to publicize it. But a issue raised. Me and Allura's wedding isn't very far away.

What we need is a plan and possibly a tailor, cause of the way I thread the needle....
