Mina was quick to turn her phone on in the morning, the most brilliant idea she had ever had coming to her mind. She didn't even bother to ask for the other's opinion as she opened up the chat app and went to the small icon in the corner of the 'study group' chat.
She pondered for a minute, her thumbs hovering over the screen briefly as she reminisced on the group name.
She had to change it so it would make sense and would give everyone an idea of what her intentions were.

Eventually she came up with a new name, the more she thought about it, the more she felt excited about her proposal.

Shinso: count me out

Shinso placed his phone back in his pocket as he closed his bag for school before moving towards the foyer of his house. He stopped to put his shoes on, his tired mind thinking about Mina's proposal. He shuddered at the idea of sunbathing, already fearing the worst, that being that he'd go back to the house as red as Kirishima's hair. Then he thought about the sand and about how he'd have to fight with it in the shower to get it out of his hair every single day.
The mere image of this in his mind making him groan out loud in annoyance.

"Hitoshi, what's wrong?" came his mother's voice as she popped her head out from the kitchen.
Shinso didn't bother to turn around, already knowing the worried look that would be spread across her face.

"My friends had a stupid idea" he briefly explained.

"What idea may that be?" she asked, surprised but happy that he was actually talking to her about his friends.
She knew that Shinso had people around him since entering the Hero course and she would be eternally thankful to those individuals. However she had no idea who they were or what they looked like due to her son's reserved character.

"They said they want to rent a beach house for summer break" he stated, standing up once he had finished putting his shoes on, patting the back of his school uniform so he could get rid of any possible dust.

"Oh, that sounds like fun!" his mum nodded approvingly.

"I'm not going"

His mother's smile fell as she watched him pick up his things and open the door to the house.

"You should go, it will probably be lots of fun. These are going to be the best years of your life Hitoshi, don't let mild annoyances get in the way of that"

Shinso listened to his mother, but he didn't utter another word as he waved goodbye and left the house, heading to school once again.

"So, what's the plan?" Kirishima asked excitedly, scooting his chair closer to the group that had formed around Mina's desk.

"First of all we have to find an affordable house" Iida lifted his index finger, stating the most important point. Everyone agreed, unanimously nodding their heads.

"I say one week is good, also we have to make sure there's enough space for everyone" Midoriya pointed out.

"The girls can share a room- ribbit" Asui pointed out, making Mina approve of the idea immediately.

Bakugo crossed his arms, his head bent in deep thought as his nose scrunched up. He would never admit it but he thought this wasn't an all bad idea, in fact, he was looking forward to the summer break, wanting to get a breath of fresh air and discard any thoughts about school for a while.
Y/n came to his mind, the idea of the girl possibly taking a break from her work appealing to him. He'd be happy to see her somewhere other than the hospital or at work, he wished for her to have some kind of normal teenager memories. He missed hanging out with her, he couldn't remember the last time they had gone to the movies or had even practiced sparring in his back yard like they would often do in the past.

"Side plan, get Shinso and L/n to come too" Mina stated.

This shook Bakugo out of his own thoughts, his head jolting up as his eyes narrowed tightly.

"I'll speak to Kaori" Bakugo muttered, his hands clenched as he looked away.

"I'll come with you" Kirishima nodded, Mina also deciding to tag along.

The others looked between each other, unsure as to what to do about Shinso. They knew he had never been great at group stuff, not wanting to mix with many people and this whole beach house idea was probably way out of his comfort zone.

"I'll see Shinso" Kaminari grinned.

Midoriya pointed his finger at himself before agreeing with Kaminari and deciding to go with him.

"Yo! Shinso" Kaminari called, jogging down the hall with Midoriya following close behind, both them waving energetically at the purple haired teen.
Shinso stopped, turning towards the familiar voice and patiently waiting for them to catch up as he changed his indoor shoes with outdoor shoes, ready to leave.

The two boys from class 3-A did the same, trying to catch their breath in the meantime, before striking up the conversation with a confused Shinso.

"So... what do you want?" he asked, looking down on the two. There were a few inches difference between him and both Midoriya and Kaminari, also, his hair noticeably added to his height too.

"You should come with us at the beach house" Kaminari said, grabbing his hips with his hands, a proud look on his face as he looked up at Shinso.
No matter how badly the violet boy treated him, he'd always bounce back and act like nothing had ever happened. Shinso never really understood if he admired Kaminari for this or if he thought this just made him stupid.

"I already gave you an answer" Shinso replied as he turned away, walking out of school gates. Midoriya and Kaminari looked between each other before moving to catch up with him, not satisfied with his answer.

"Come on Shinso, we'll have fun" Midoriya insisted, walking by his side, Kaminari buzzing around them like an annoying fly, his determined gaze fixed on Shinso as if he expected that to change his mind.

"I don't like the beach, or the sun, or the sand" Shinso listed, walking past the two fastening his pace.

"What do you mean you don't like the beach?" Kaminari gawked, making Shinso glare at him from the corner of his eye.

"Also, I'd like to keep my possibilities of dying to the minimum by not getting in the water with you" he muttered.

Kaminari pouted, crossing his arms over his chest, faking he had taken offence at the fact that Shinso was calling him the human version of 'taking a bath with the toaster'.
Midoriya laughed as he placed a hand on Shinso's broad shoulder, his green eyes flickering up to look at his friend. He stopped, dragging the violet haired boy to halt his step too.

"I know you're not a big fan of social situations and all of that, but we're your friends and we want you to be there with us" Midoriya said, flashing him a sincere smile, making Shinso cast his gaze to the ground.

"It won't be the same without you there" Kaminari agreed, holding on to Shinso's other shoulder, slightly startled at how hard and tense his muscles were.

Shinso hung his head, his face relaxing in a thoughtful look, his irises mindlessly following the cracks in the pavement as he contemplated his possibilites. Everyone apart from him thought this was a good idea, his mother, his friends... they even got Iida on board without having to do any convincing which was surprising. Maybe it wouldn't so bad, maybe he would be able to ignore the sand in his hair or the icky feeling he felt when the seawater would dry against his skin if he were to go there with people he actually enjoyed being around.

"Fine" he said, looking up at the two boys who jumped up in excitement.

"Really?" Midoriya asked, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
Shinso nodded his head and curiously watched the two bouncing around him as if they were elementary school kids he had just given candy to.
The three of them were interrupted by Bakugo dragging Kirishima and Mina past them, his raging eyes staring at the cafΓ© in the distance.

"Oh, they must be going to get L/n-san to come" Kaminari commented, pointing at the rowdy group stomping on the opposite side of the road.

"Do you think they'll convince her? I think she might feel like the odd one out" Midoriya whispered, making both Kaminari and Shinso look at him questioningly.

"What do you mean?" Kaminari asked.

Midoriya looked up at the two, his previous happy expression completely gone as he explained.

"Knowing her she probably feels like she is intruding on our summer break holiday, she doesn't feel like she's one of us" Midoriya explained.
Shinso kept quiet as Kaminari started asking questions, tuning out of the conversation between the two of them. He didn't really understand why everyone was so worried about her or why they insisted on having her around them so much. She had dropped out of school to work at a cafΓ©, completely giving up on her possibility of becoming a hero and helping people. That's something Shinso couldn't comprehend, not understanding why she didn't fight to stay in school and deal with whatever her problem was outside of that.
However, he felt bad right now. He knew what it was like, to feel like the odd one out, to feel like the person that no one really got, to be that person that would always walk behind everyone else because they didn't feel like they belonged.

"Shinso?" Kaminari's voice brought him back to reality, dragging him away from his darkening thoughts.

"You spaced out man, are you alright?" the blonde asked, making Shinso quickly nod before turning on his heel.

"I'm going to study, you should also do the same if you really plan on going to the beach during break" Shinso waved and left, disappearing quickly from Kaminari and Midoriya's sight.

"Y/N" barked Bakugo as he opened the door to the cafΓ©, the rough sound of the bell startling some of the cats, who jogged off to the back of the place.

"Excuse me?" the lady behind the counter straightened up, looking over at the three teens that had just entered her place, her stern gaze digging in to all of them individually. Mina and Kirishima immediately flicked their eyes to the ground, mortified.

"Listen here lady-"

Kirishima slapped a hand over Bakugo's snarl as Mina bowed at Kaori who stood on the opposite side of the counter to her.

"We're really sorry to intrude this way" Mina apologised before standing back up.

"Is it true that L/n-san has days off in about two weeks?" Kirishima asked.

The older lady looked between them, recognising them as Y/n's friends which would come in from time to time. In fact she often wondered if any of them were her employee's special someone. Her gaze softened, not holding them at fault for the blonde's disrespectful behaviour.

"Yes, she'll have days off, why?" she asked, clasping her hands in front of her apron.

"We're planning on taking her with us to a beach house for a few days. We hoped to speak to her about it" Kirishima said.

In that moment, the back door opened, revealing Y/n who was just dusting off her hands before grabbing one of the cats who tried leaving past the ajar door and resting it on her chest. Her gaze flickered up to the entrance, seeing the small group that had formed, immediately recognising Bakugo, Kirishima and Mina.

"Y/n!"
