"But miss I can't do that."
"Yes you can, sir. It's no big deal."
"But I made the schedule a week ago. Making changes like these will be really difficult."
"Sir, we both know it's not difficult. Just change a few people's class and we will be fine."
"Okay but why are you so insistent on sitting with him? Do you have a secret crush on him or something?"

She gave the teacher an annoyed glare. He was making her job harder then it already was.
At first, she was reluctant to take this job but the pay and her financial problems forced her to take it.
She still didn't know the motives of the man who hired her but at this point she didn't even care about it. She was only concerned with money.

"Sir, I assure you it's not something as silly as that."
"Then what is it?"
"I can't tell you that."
"Why? Did someone hire you to spy on him?" The teacher asked sarcastically and rolled his eyes.
The girl couldn't conceal the grin that was trying to appear on her face.
"Yes that's exactly it." The teacher would've taken it as a joke if the girl didn't sound that serious.
"Oh God! But he is a good kid, why would someone want to spy on him?"
"If I told you that, sir, I would have to kill you."
"You have a wicked sense of humour child. Now go back to your class, I'll try to adjust your schedule."
"Thank you sir. Just make sure I have at least two classes with him and I am close to him in all of them."
"Yeah yeah, I'll do that, now go and don't forget to bring my reward for this good deed tomorrow."

The girl smirked. This job was going to be fun, she thought. After living in the shadows for so long, she was finally going to make an appearance.
'I'm coming, Alexander Black.'

Alex and Michael were sitting on a bench outside and enjoying their burgers when suddenly someone snatched both the burgers. They looked up to see Jason eating Michael's burger and glaring at them.

"What the hell dude! I know we have been friends our whole lives but we never agreed on sharing food. Food is no joke!" Michael said while staring longingly at the burger Jason was about to finish.
"And we should be the one glaring, not you." Alex added.
"Shut up or I'm going to kill you both." Jason said with his full mouth and still glaring.
"Sh aa o ca aa ba." Michael tried to mimic Jason which earned him a slap and a small chuckle.
"What's wrong man?" Alex finally asked.
"Don't try to act innocent Lexie I know it was your idea cause Mikey is a piece of shit and can't think of something like that."
"Hey." Michael tried to sound annoyed but was ignored by the the other two.
"I really don't know what you're talking about."

This caused Jason to be more angry.
"I'm talking about the dozens alarms you people set in my room. You thought I won't be able to get a wink of sleep, how thoughtful of you both." He was shouting by the end.

There was a moment of silence and then Alex and Michael started to laugh hysterically. Michael was laughing so hard that he fell on his back but kept on laughing. Jason continued to glare at them and kicked Michael in his stomach.

"It's not funny, assholes." Jason hissed.
"It is. Damn! I wanted to see you running around your room in search of alarms." Alex said, now grinning.
"You said I was running around my room?" Jason asked, now supporting a small smirk.
This caused the other two to stop laughing.

"What do you mean?" Alex asked.
"Did you really think I would look for those stupid alarms? Nah dude I'm too lazy for that."
"So how did you sleep with all that noise?" Michael was curious now because he knew Jason couldn't sleep in noise.
"Would you really like to know about it, Mikey?"
"Shut up and tell me."
"Simple. I slept in my uncle's office. FYI it's soundproof."
Jason now had a huge smirk whereas Alex and Michael's mouths were wide open. They thought that they would laugh the whole day on Jason's expense but now were disappointed.
"Asshat." Mike hissed.
"Why did you do that?" Jason asked curiously.
"Mike wanted revenge." Alex muttered.
"But why? What did I do?"
"You made me drink a worm smoothie Jason." Mike seethed.
"Oh that. Yeah. I had forgotten about that. Don't worry Mikey maybe you'll get your revenge next time." Jason patted Michael's hair in a soothing manner.
Michael, who was now busy forming a new revenge plan, ignored him.

Jason entered the class with a bored expression. Out of all the classes this one was the worst for him. He didn't even know why he took world history. He was high when he chose his subjects and that brought a small smile on his face.

The teacher still wasn't here even though Jason was twenty minutes late.
He walked towards the only empty chair in the class and was surprised to see the person next to him.

"Hello beautiful." He said in a horrible English accent.
The girl gave out a loud sigh and banged her head on the table.
"What do you want?" She asked with a groan.
"I want your name with a side of your number." Jason winked to add effect to his cheesiness.
"Oh ha-ha you're funny." The girl rolled her eyes.
"I know right.  So your name cutie?"
"My name is Tatiana."
"I want your real name babe." He said in a bored tone.
"That is my name."
"We both know that it's not."
"It is."
"It's not."
"It is."
"Damn you're so boring. Just tell me your name and I won't disturb you anymore."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"It's Melissa."
"Really?"
"Yes now don't talk to me and leave me alone." The girl said annoyedly.
"FYI I crossed my fingers." Jason said with a smug look.
"FYI I knew you would do that so I told you a fake name." The girl flipped her hair and winked at him.
This time it was Jason who groaned and banged his head on the table.
"Why are you being so difficult? I asked for your name not your virginity."
"Well I might not have been this difficult if you hadn't ruined my book."
"It was just a stupid book. Get over it."

The girl gave out a loud gasp.
"You are supposed to say sorry not get over it, idiot."
"Okay fine, sor-rr-ry." Jason muttered.
"I don't want a forced sorry."
Saying this, the girl walked out of the classroom since the teacher still hadn't come and most of the students had already left the class.

Jason kept looking in the direction the girl had walked out. For some reason, he was regretting what he did. Regretting something after a long long time.

He started to follow the girl but then thinking better of it walked in the opposite direction.
Taking out his phone he sent a quick text to Josh, a guy who knew everyone in the school even the nerdy girl who sat next to him in the world history class.

Michael was standing alone in the parking lot. Jason had to ride him home but he ditched him because he had some personal matters to attend.
He was about to call a cab when he spotted Alex's car. Relief washed over him. Taking out his phone, he dialled Alex's number.
On the second ring, he picked up the phone.
"Yo mate would you be able to give me a ride home?" Mike asked.
"Sure. I'm coming, see you in the parking lot in five minutes."

Alex and Mike has just gotten out of school when they spotted Elise walking slowly out of the school.
Micheal wished that Alex would ignore her but sadly that was not what happened.

"Hey Elise!" Alex called her and she turned back, giving them both her signature pretty smile. Michael unknowingly smiled back and caught Alex smirking from the corner of his eye.

"This is going to be fun." Alex thought to himself and signalled Elise to head over his way. Being the good friend she was, she started walking towards them.

"Please no." Michael muttered under his breath.
"Pretty yes." Alex smirked at him again.

"Hi Michael, how are you?" Elise spoke when she was close enough and ignored Alex for a good while.
"Good." He replied with a head-tilt and a fake smile.
"So how have you been?" Her smile was a little less wider than normal.
"Good." The same response from him again. He could feel Alex cold glare on him but he didn't care.

"Elise." Alex said, bringing attention to him.
"Yes?" Elise asked, clearly annoyed. This made Alex a little angrier than he already was.
"I was dropping Mike home and since your house is quite close, I thought I can drop you too." Alex tried smiling, not  really a good try.
"Oh thank you, Alex. I had books with me and I couldn't walk home. You're a life-saver." She grinned at him.

"Mike, can you take her books? You both can sit in the backseat. The front seat has juice spilled on it." Alex turned towards Mike, amusement dancing in his eyes.
"Oh I'm so so sorry, Alex. Sorry Elise. I can't help you today. I've some important business to attend to." Michael slowly started moving back.
"Really? I thought..." Alex was about to speak when Michael cut him off saying, "No it's ok. I'm good. You drop her home. Have fun, bye!" He turned his back against them and started walking away.

Alex stopped him but didn't let him turn. He whispered in his ear from his behind.
"Dude, why the hell are you so stubborn? I'm trying so hard for this and you can't manage your mood swings? For God's sake, don't do this in front of her. She seemed so hurt."

"I don't know what you're talking about." Michael shrugged his shoulders and started walking again. He stopped midway and turned to face him.
"And I don't care." He said with the stoniest expression and Alex almost believed him at that. But he knew well. He knew him so well. The boy did care. Maybe a little too much for his own good.
