Far away, in a distant galaxy, light years from our earth, another solar system has formed. And within this, a planet, a planet with water, air, and life, however the life forms here are not what you would expect. Rather not aliens but normal people and animals roam about here. Dark skinned people and light skinned people, deer, elk, sheep, cattle, cats and dogs all live on this earth-like planet. The inhabitants speak a strange language unheard of anywhere else. A complex, yet simple mechanism. Half of the population of people are far more capable of technology then we could perhaps dream to be. However, some people still go with the fierce nature of the wild, still keep to the old and the native ways. The only reason for this is, not every area of this planet got civilization, for the sorry fact that the planet was simply too large. There are two large continents, one on the west side and one on the East. they are enormous, larger than all of the Americas and the Asian continents on our small Earth. The West carried the highest of technology, things that are futuristic to us. That even our movies fail to add, from the clothing to the food, nothing is as it would be on Earth. In the far East the other half of the world resides, a third world population, with barely any knowledge of even the simple mechanisms on Earth. Now, before you ask your first question which is: why isn't the West helping the East? Allow me to explain... The planet is formed as such that the land takes up a total of 19.3% of the planet mass, the rest being the ocean. The sea surrounds the middle from north to south and all around. This is not a normal ocean, electrical currents with enough power to burn a human in a matter of seconds to the bone corse through it, destroying anything that dares come near, no sea life can be found, the only specimen of fish being in freshwater. Then, running down, like an equator between the two continents is a huge disc of light, gamma rays and other unexplainable tonic gasses run across this equator. No person had ever crossed the area without dying, no equipment had ever passed through without exploding into dust. No one dared going through. Yet. Still people try to find an answer to their problem, they had to help the other side, they were running out of resources and their population was small, oh so very small. Children were dying faster than ever thanks to the radiation that was slowly making its way to the heart of their land. They knew it had to do with the weak genetics of the children. Any child born alive was cherished so much that nearly ten adults would constantly guard the child. Child abuse was something of thousands of years ago, no one would ever dream of such a horrendous thing to do, children were given more rights than even adults at times, and the parents and guardians of the children were often given high incomes. All in the hope that the child would make it to adulthood. But the chances were getting lower and lower, soon it was one in a thousand babies that survived, the human race was dying and there was nothing they could do.

This was the reason they were trying to get to the other side, they knew that there were people there, people with resistance to the gamma rays that were taking the children's lives, if they could introduce some of the new genetics to the new generation, there was a chance, a good one, that the human race would survive. Everyone was now hoping, praying that somehow, they would live, because without the fresh, strong genetics, the human race would cease to exist.

 I know that I could use a little work when it comes to grammar and lots of other things so try to ignore the obvious mistakes. ( Waves a small white flag in defeat). I'd very much appreciate comments and I would love to hear what you are thinking!
