Kevin's POV
"Damn it" I cursed slamming my hand against the top of the car as Ben and Seher soon catched up behind me.
"Kevin calm down" Seher said.
"Yeah calm down we'll think something..." Ben said in a serious tone as I interrupted him.
"No. No one's gonna think or do anything now. She didn't wanted to talk in the hospital right than fine I'll go to her place right now and talk to her..." I said than paused turning towards Seher.
"Seher can you please get me her address like right now" I continued as she just sighed before nodding her head and going back inside.
As I waited for Seher to come back my mind was filled with Ashley's thoughts only and how she broke my trust by keeping such an important thing from me but my thoughts suddenly went back to Kelly and that night when she told me Ashley's whereabouts and her reason for leaving me...I thought she was telling the truth but now that I have got here and seen the truth with my own eyes I realized that she lied to me too.
But for what possible reasons?
But after the conversation we had that night, I can tell that she wasn't lying. I saw it in her eyes that she was really trying to help me.
Than...
Wait I guess she wasn't the one lying...I don't think she knows the truth herself. I don't know maybe it's possible that Ashley never told her the entire thing...maybe she lied to Kelly too.
I guess I'll have to talk to her once I talk to Ashley.
I snapped out of my thoughts as I saw Seher walking back towards us.
"Did you get it" I asked impatiently.
"Yeah, I have texted you the address" She replied.
"Thank you I owe you" I said as she just smiled in response.
"Do you need to go somewhere? I can drop you" I offered.
"No there are a few things I need to handle. I'll see you later" She replied and went back saying goodbye as Ben and I got into the car driving towards the address that Seher texted me.
The ride to Ashley's place was a silent one to which I'm very much thankful because I really wasn't in the mood of listening to Ben's nonstop and humourless humour.
"Do you want me to come with you...I mean to protect you from your wife" Ben said grinning as we reached our destination.
"Absolutely not" I said shaking my head in denial.
"And wait what did you say...why would I need any kind of protection from her" I added rolling my eyes as his words sinked in.
"Oh she's probably mad at you so..." He said and trailed off purposely.
And as I was about to reply something to shut him up I stopped as I saw someone familiar getting out of Ashley's house.
Who's that, I thought.
And my question was soon answered as I saw the familiar figure more clearly.
Well I guess I know who that is.
"Is that Tyler Harrison" Ben asked or rather stated.
"Yeah that's him" I replied firmly.
"What the hell is he doing here" I murmured to myself as my grip on the stirring wheel tightened on it's own accord.
As far as I know he doesn't live here so what's he doing here, I thought as he got into his car and drove off.
I don't know why but I don't feel like talking to anyone at this moment and especially to Ashley...maybe because I'm mad right now and the reason is this guy...Tyler.
Also I don't want to say something to her in my anger that I'll regret later...that'll make things even worst between us.
I guess it's just better if I don't talk to her right now. I think I just need some time alone.
"Wait why are we leaving" Ben asked as I started driving again.
"Aren't you going to go in and talk to her" He added.
"Where do you live" I asked ignoring what he said.
"And why are we going at my place instead of..." He asked confused as I interrupted him.
"Where do you live" I asked the same thing once again as this time he gave me the directions to his place.
"I don't understand, first you were so adamant about talking to her and than when we reach at her place you just decided to leave without even going inside" Ben said handing me a glass of what I guess is whisky or something I don't know.
"You know Tyler was after Ashley few months back when we were still together...I mean he liked her or maybe even loved her I'm not sure about it" I replied gulping the drink down as he sat across me.
"Oh so that is why you looked so mad when you saw him getting out of her house" He asked as I just nodded my head.
"So did he try something back than" He asked taking a sip from his own drink.
"Yes kind of, he didn't know that we both were married" I replied.
"And the funny part is that he was also going to propose her" I added with a sarcastic laugh.
"What...than what happened" He asked.
I smiled recalling that night.
"Of course I didn't let him propose her" I replied smirking.
"And now you understand why I just left without even talking to her" I added as he just nodded.
The rest of the day my mind kept running with many thoughts and also questions as of why Tyler was at Ashley's place and how does he even knows that she has been living here now...when I, her own husband and also her family had no idea where she was all this time.
Is it possible that she left me because of him.
Does she love him?
A sudden pang of jealousy and hurt hit me at the mere thought of her loving someone else.
No no that's impossible. I refuse to believe it.
And later that night having enough of these stupid thoughts I finally decided that I needed to talk to her...I just couldn't wait until the next morning so I took the car keys and soon left for her place, alone this time since Ben has gone somewhere out as he had some work.
Soon I was standing outside her house on the porch.
I sighed as I pressed the door bell.
I guess it's really time for us to have this talk.
"Coming coming" I smiled slightly as I heard her voice when I pressed the bell once again.
"Wh..." She spoke opening the door but trailed off seeing me.
"So it's you" She said in a bored tone.
"Yeah it's me. Why? Were you expecting someone else?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"No...wait why should I answer you" She replied glaring.
"Look we need to talk and surely you don't want your neighbors to hear us, now do you" I said.
"But I don't have anything to talk with you" She replied trying to close the door on my face but I stopped it by placing my hand on it.
"But I do" I said pushing the door a little and getting inside without her permission.
"Kevin leave right now. There's nothing left to talk between us" She said irritated.
"Why" I asked.
"What why" She asked already knowing what I meant.
"Why did you leave me" I asked once again.
"Most importantly...why did you lie about the baby...our baby" I added suddenly feeling the pain that I have felt in these five months all over again.
"I-I..." She trailed off.
"What is all this Ashley I mean why...why are you doing all this, cutting all your ties with your family...with me. What happened suddenly that brought us here" I said feeling tired of all the lies and secrets.
"Fine if you don't want to tell me yet than it's fine you can have all the time in the world but please let's just go back...to our family...to our home...please come back with me" I continued when she stayed silent and walked towards her.
"Please. I promise I won't ask you anything...I'll never bring this topic up until you yourself want to tell me everything, I promise I'll make everything right just like it was before you left...let's just go back home baby" I said cupping her face.
"This baby needs a father's love as much as it needs a mother's. I don't want our fights to effect him or her" I added.
"I'm sure I can give my child everything he or she will ever need" She replied pulling my hands away from her face.
"Ashley why are you being so difficult. I know you'll do anything and everything for our child but what'll you do when one day she'll ask you where her father is. Let me tell you that day you won't have any answer" I said running my fingers through my hair out of frustration.
"Ashley...I love you. I always have" I sighed confessing what I felt.
"And trust me I'm not asking you to come with me just because of the baby in fact when I came here looking for you I had no idea that you were still pregnant, I thought that...anyways I believed you...I believed what you wrote in that letter" I continued.
"When I came back from my business trip I was determined that I was going to tell you about my feelings but when I came home you were long gone by than...it's funny how I didn't even got a chance to say how much I love you" I chuckled saying the last part.
"Are you done? If yes than you can leave" She spoke unaffected by whatever I said.
"When did you turn so cold hearted" I whispered in disbelief.
"Is all of this because of that Tyler" I asked bitterly after a moment.
"What do you mean" She asked, a few frown lines forming on her forehead.
"Oh I know he was here this afternoon" I replied.
"Now I get it...now I get why you left me" I murmured to myself.
"Tell me do you love him...tell me did you love him even when we both were still together...were you with him back than too" I asked holding her by her shoulders.
"Tell me damn it" I yelled.
"Yes you are right. I love him. Got your answer? Now you can leave" She replied in a high pitched voice, getting herself free from my grip.
Her words worked like acid on my heart...those words were enough to make me feel like I lost everything even the hope along with which I came here...the hope that I'll make everything right.
I shook my head laughing...I don't know at what though...maybe at her for betraying me like this or maybe at myself for trusting and loving her to no end.
Yeah maybe it's truly my fault.
"I can't stop you from loving someone else since you have every right to make decisions for yourself but you can't make that decision for my child...I'll take my child back home with me as soon as it's born and than you are free to be with whoever the hell you want" I said firmly having enough of her tantrums before walking out without waiting to see her reaction.
