Allie's PoV:

At first when I saw how the officer treated Chandler, I was relieved. I almost forgot who he was and the fact that his daddy could get him out of everything. But when I saw his disappointed face and the way he clenched his fists, I did a double take.

Why was he so angry? He got out of it without having to pay. Without any consequences. And after a few minutes passed and we were still in the parking lot, I seemed to have pulled him out of his thoughts when I said his name.

"You wanna go somewhere?" I heard him ask after a while. I didn't even have to answer, before he started the engine again. I don't know what it was, but he seemed so vulnerable in this moment. His tone was soft and distant.

With the billion thoughts that were going through my mind, I didn't even notice where we were going until he stopped the engine. I looked out of the window and almost gasped out loud when I saw where he brought me.

I felt his eyes on me and looked at him.
"Why are we here?" I asked, eyeing the beach in front of us. He didn't answer, only got out of the car and started walking. I quickly followed him. I could still not get over the fact that we were at the beach.

Mom never brought us here anymore, since it was a long way from my house. I didn't even realize how long we were sitting in the car, because Chandler was confusing me so much. And seeing the sun setting now, it must be evening already. It was a little colder and I wish I would-

No! I forgot my coat at his mansion. My money and my phone were in it! I looked at Chandler, before dropping my gaze. I'll ask to get it later. I don't want to ruin this moment. We continued walking and after walking uphill for a few minutes, Chandler stopped.

I widened my mouth in astonishment. He looked back at me and I stopped in my step. When he finally turned around again, I saw that he was going to sit on the edge of the cliff. He brought me to a cliff I've never been to before. I dared looking over the edge and my breath hitched when I saw how high we were. If we jumped, we'd die.

"I found this place when I thought I was ready to jump." I heard him say and my eyes widened.
"What?" I asked and neared him. I wasn't about to sit down and risk slipping, but when he looked at me, I knew I had to. So I carefully sat down next to him.

"You're always so shaky. I'm not going to bite you." He growled and I glared at him.
"I'm afraid of heights." I informed him and he nodded with an understanding look.
"Oh." Minutes passed and nobody spoke. I was enjoying the fresh air and even though I was cold, since it was evening, I didn't care.

The sun wasn't gone yet and I wished I had my phone with me again. I looked at Chandler but he was looking down. I'm not going to ask him again.
"Why are we here?" I decided to ask him that, since I didn't understand.

"I want to break our rule for tonight, just tonight. Please, just- Just let me talk to you. I know you don't even care, but I need to get this off my chest, before I decide to jump again." He rambled and I quickly nodded. I don't like the way his voice sounded again. And I was kind of excited to hear how he felt. To get to know a little more about him.

"I'm all ear." I smiled reassuringly. I didn't know what to expect.
"Yes, but can you keep it?" He asked and ran a hand through his hair.

"This was a bad idea. I shouldn't have-"
"Chandler, I can keep secrets. If you want me to, that is. I haven't even told my friends that I was seeing you." That came out wrong, but he knew what I meant.
"You haven't?" He asked surprised. I shook my head and he frowned for a few seconds, before shaking his head.

"Why wouldn't you?" He asked in a small voice, avoiding eye contact.
"How would you explain my position as your slave, Chandler?" I joked and he nodded.
"Well kissing buddy now." He corrected and I nodded with a blush on my cheek.

"You can trust me." I said, making him sigh.
"I hope so." He murmured and it was silent again. I was still waiting for him to tell me when I felt my eyelids drop. But then he finally spoke up and I was fully awake now.

"I'm not suicidal. Not really, that is. Just whenever I feel bad, I come here and see if I'm ready to jump yet. But I know I'll never be. I mean why would I jump? For everybody else I have the perfect life. My dad is perfect, my house is perfect, I have the best education and I get everything on a silver tablet." He sighed.

"But I don't want that, Allie. I'd rather have a life like yours. And I'm not saying your life isn't perfect, but- I don't know how to explain it. I just know that I enjoyed sitting at the dinner table with your family. I never had homemade food from my mom, since-" He cut himself off and when I looked at him I saw him closing his eyes and letting out a shaky breath.

I covered his hand with mine when he didn't talk for a while. He opened his eyes again and looked down at me.
"I'm sorry, I just- Everybody treats me like the police officer from earlier. Except Aunt Bella and Archer maybe. But that's it. I don't want it Allie. I want to earn respect. I want to work for it. All of it." He continued, dropping his gaze.

"I want to be in a public school, have a girlfriend and get my first heartbreak. I want a father, who- who isn't in the government. I want a mother who loves me as much as your mother loves you. I just want a normal life. And when you told me I wasn't average, I was mad. Because I want to be average. I want to be normal, for fuck's sake!"

"Chandler, you-"
"And you!" He cut me off.

"You're the one who first let me feel how it was to be average. You poured a fucking cocktail over my head. No one in their sane mind would've done that to me." He smiled again and I found myself smiling back.

"And- and you kissed me. No one ever did that before either." His smile faded and he was looking away again. My eyes widened as I watched him.

I was his first kiss?
