"No, Cyrus. We're just-" I looked at Chandler, who only shrugged.
"Friends." I hesitated, because we are not friends. But I couldn't just say he was using me as his slave for the time being, how awful would that sound?

"Friends." Chandler nodded and Cyrus looked back to him.
"What's your name?" I rolled my eyes at my brother's curiosity. He was so not shy around strangers and I really admired him for that. But right now I wished he was.

"I'm Chandler. What's yours?" Chandler answered. I silently listened to their conversation, while grabbing Chandler's plate and putting some pasta on it. He was going to love it, I just know that. He thanked me with a surprised look on his face and I only nodded in return.

Was he surprised that I had manners? I don't know, so I shrugged it off. Once we all had a plate full of delicious food, mom said a prayer before we dug in. I was surprised mom said a prayer, since we never did that before. I guess she just wanted to show off.

"That's very good pasta, Misses Parker." I heard Chandler say and was surprised by the fact that he remembered my surname.
"It's only Miss, but call me Linda." She kindly said and Chandler nodded at her request.

I listened to their small talks and felt a little awkward since I wasn't really talking much. Mom asked me about school and I always answered with one word. It just felt weird to have Chandler Hawkes in my house. This was all not supposed to happen.

"Chandler, do you want to come to my next soccer game? It's on friday and we play against our rival school, the Dickens." Cyrus asked Chandler. He never invited me to one of his games, so that kind of hurt.

"I'm not sure if-"
"Oh." My brother said disappointed as he dropped his gaze and picked on his food. I smirked, oh he was good at that. Three, two, on-

"I mean, when is it, bud? I could see if I-"
"We start at six." Cyrus' hopeful eyes could make the toughest fighter give in and it was no different with Chandler.
"Friday at six, got it." He smiled and Cyrus thrust his fist in the air.

"Oh, you can come too Allie." He shrugged after a second and I rolled my eyes.
"How nice of you." I said sarcastically and Chandler chuckled. Dinner ended soon after that. I was surprised when Chandler offered to help mom wash the dishes. I doubt he even knew how to do that.

And when mom denied his offer, I could see his relieve. Cyrus was still talking to him when we stood up.
"And then when we-"

"Cyrus, don't you have homework to do or something?" I interrupted him, because there seemed to be no turn off button.
"No, I go to a school, where I do my homework in the afternoon, Allie. You know that." He said and finally looked up at me.

After seeing my face, he gulped and turned back to Chandler.
"Maybe I forgot to do something. Bye Chandler, see you at my game." He said, before rushing upstairs. I turned to look at Chandler, who simply waved at my brother, before smiling down at me.

"So..." I said, not really wanting to kick him out, but at the same time I did.
"So, I guess you only have one day of freedom after all, the game is on friday." Chandler said and I nodded, before shrugging.

"I won't be there anyways." I've never been to one of my brother's soccer game after watching his first game five years ago. It was making me aggressive, because whenever I shouted at Cyrus to kick the ball, he turned to look at me and was distracted.

The other team would then proceed to take the ball and get a goal in. It was frustrating, because my brother had potential. And I just couldn't stop cheering for him.
"What? But you can't just leave me alone there." He panicked and I enjoyed that.

"I can't stand it to watch them play. Plus, I have plans on Friday." I shrugged. Those plans consisted of watching movies and stuffing my face with fast food.
"What plans?" He asked with a small frown.

"None of your business." I said and he lifted an eyebrow.
"Is it like a date?" He asked me and I almost laughed out loud, but he had this serious look on his face and I only shrugged.

"Maybe." I say and walked towards the front door.
"With the guy who touched my car?" He asked with a hint of anger and I thought about dating Mike. I visibly cringed at the thought of that. I've seen too much of him already.

"No way, he's my best friend." I shook my head and looked back at him. He was still standing a few feet away from me and I rolled my eyes.
"Come on, Chandler. I still have to finish doing my homework." I said and he nodded before coming to my side.

"Bye Miss Parker and thank you for the dinner!" He yelled when I opened the door.
"It's Linda, honey and you're welcome!" We heard my mom yell back. I closed the door after he grabbed his coat and put on his shoes.

"Your mom is nice." He said when he shrugged into his coat.
"I know." I smiled and he smiled back down at me. This was awkward.

"Well, see you on friday, then." He said and walked off to his car.
"I told you I wouldn't be there!" I yelled after him. Was he deaf?
"We'll see." He yelled back as he got into his car.

I just shook my head with a small smile playing on my lips as I watched him drive off. He honked twice, which made me jump and giggle. He was nice today. Maybe he does regret what happened yesterday. I mean I did cry and I'm pretty sure he saw that.

"I like the boy. I wonder why his father never brings him to one of those fancy dinners." Mom came up behind me. I looked at her and shrugged. I remember she worked at those events a few times before and told me every single detail about Tobias Hawkes. How he looked, how he talked, the sound of his laughter, which I'm sure sounded better than my mom's horrible imitation of a dying seal.

He probably had his reasons.
