Mamé's POV

"My baby, you don't know how proud I am of you." My momma spoke with tears in her eyes as she brought me my flowers.

After 4 long ass years, I'm proud to say that I've worked hard through it all and graduated from UC Berkeley. Not many people are able to say that they've made it through with their bestie, but I did. To be honest, I couldn't have made it without her. With everything that went on outside of school, she kept me focused and helped me out with everything. I'm happy to say that I will be pursuing a career in the Education field, while Jasmine goes into the Medical field.

"Thank you, mommy!" I hugged her tightly as we rocked back and forth.

"My princess, congratulations." My daddy spoke as he gave me my hug and a gang of balloons.

"Thank you, papa!" I held him tight as well.

"You hear us when you was walking that stage? Me and yo brothers was fashoo T'd up."

"Mhm, I heard y'all." I spoke because my Daddy extra ass gon bring a damn megaphone, just like he did at my high school graduation.

"My baby sister growing up." Rashad spoke as he pulled me into a hug.

"Shut up, boy. You know you my baby bro." I kissed his cheek and he mugged me, wiping it off.

"I knew you could do it, Mamé. Congrats." Amare spoke as I gave him a hug.

"Thank you, I appreciate it forreal."

"I'm so damn proud of you. My lil sister doing big things, forreal." Nasir spoke as he tried messing with my hair but I moved from him, then walked back towards him so that I could give him a hug.

"Thank you! Big ugly." My eyes were watering so I had to make some kind of joke.

"My baby." My grandmother spoke as she walked towards me.

"Nana, I missed you!" I wasted no time giving her a hug, rocking her back and forth as well.

"I missed you too, my baby, and I am so proud of you." She smiled as she held both of my hands.

I gave her a wide smile back as the tears formed in my eyes. "Thank you, Nana. You don't know how much that means to me." I spoke.

I've watched you grow from a feisty young lady into a beautiful woman, it all brings me joy, it does. Now, where is my boy?" She asked of Karl.

"That's what I'm about to find out. Let me call Jas." I pulled out my phone. Once I clicked on Jasmine's contact, I turned around to the tap on my shoulder.

"Jasss! I'm so proud of you, baby!" I yelled as we damn near jumped onto each other.

"I'm super proud of you too, bestie! I can't believe this, blood. We came a long way." She was already crying so I didn't try to hold my tears back anymore.

"Where's my baby?" I cried as I looked for Karl.

I picked him up and kissed his cheek, pulling him into me for a tight hug.

He just started walking last month, literally 3 hours after coming back from Georgia to see Yatta. When I told his daddy, he was mad that he missed it, but said that he couldn't wait to start taking Karl to the park and stuff that he has been waiting to do. He also said that he was gonna teach him how to play football while out there, but he got me fucked up because I don't want my baby playing that rough ass sport.

When it happened, Kj was just trying to get his toys from one side of the room while sitting on the other. He was crawling at first, then stood himself up, struggling to walk towards it. My eyes grew wide once I saw him up on his two little feet, and I had to blink a couple times because it was so unexpected and felt unreal. When I say I called everybody up that day, telling them all about the good news, I'm definitely not exaggerating.

"Congratulations, baby." Jas's mom spoke as I gave her a hug. After that, it was Siya, Yatta's dad, and eventually the whole gang. Neisha was here, Project, and Imani came as well. Everyone was there to support and I was too happy. Everyone except for Yatta, of course.

He's still down in Georgia at a rehab center now, working on getting better. He was pissed off that he had to miss my graduation day, but promised to call me when he got the chance. He blew up my phone before hand though, telling me how proud he was of me and how I deserved this. I couldn't thank him enough either, for encouraging me when I felt like giving up.

Nobody knew this, but when I was pregnant with Karl, it wasn't all jolly and shit, like it seemed. I had so many damn mental breakdowns because I was so stressed with school, I wasn't sure if I was ready to be a mother while at it. I couldn't handle it all and one time got really out of hand saying I wanted either an abortion or to drop out. Yatta put me in my place and told my ass off too quick, but picked my head up and told me that he was by my side through whatever. His words really pushed me to want to get through it more than I already did, and look where I am now.

"I finally graduated with my bestest friend, blood. Y'all don't know how juiced I am." Jas spoke as she gave me another hug.

"That part. You really grown up, Jas. I remember when you was a lil youngin, always asking grown folks for some money." Tiggz shook his head and fake cried, even pretending to wipe a tear.

Jasmine smiled. "Aw, I was always tryna flip a quick 5 into 50. Lil hustla from the Sunny."

After talking some more with all our family and taking hella pictures, we decided to head to the restaurant we planned to have lunch at, out in San Fransisco. We already had a reservation for a certain time, so we ended up having to wait a little bit because we were early.

"Mm, I'm so hungry." I spoke because the smell of the food was making my stomach growl.

"Girl, who you telling?" Jas put her hand on her stomach.

"We really did it, Jas." I smiled and she did the same.

"Yes, we did." She returned the smile. "Let's flick up." She pulled out her phone and I got in the camera. We took so many damn pictures today, but our faces were beat and our outfits were some heat so who could blame us?

Once we were called in for our reservation, we were led to a large table they set in the middle of the restaurant. We all look our seats at the long table, and I sat next to Jas while the waitress got a booster seat for Karl. I thanked her once she brought it, and moved it close to me, before placing him in it.

Milli sat next to Karl and I, while Rashad sat across from me. My family and Jas's family were mixed up together, and I was happy about it. They were all getting along well, even my older brothers.

Nasir and Amare actually made up with Yatta a little while ago, when I was down in Georgia with him. Even though they were mad about the things that he put me through, they apologized for their actions before all of that even happened. Yatta apologized for the issues between us too, and they squashed it and were cool. I was glad about that because I didn't like the tension that I felt when we were all together.

Jasmine spoke to me aboutof her dad, and how she wished he was there to support her. It made me sad because of how little hope he gave her. Growing up, he always made promises he could never fulfill. That made all her hope fail of ever having a relationship with her dad, and her self esteem low because she felt like she wasn't good enough, and maybe that was why he didn't come around. But, she learned to move on from that. It also made her appreciate her mom more, and she was able to build a closer and stronger bond with her.

She later on found out her dad had a wife, and a daughter only a week younger than her, which meant he cheated on her mom. She tried to be nice and reach out to her younger sister, but she was very stuck up and did not want anything to do with Jasmine. Jas shrug it off and forgot about the both of them, moving on with her life, and to bigger and better things.

"I'm so proud of us, I can't say it enough." I spoke as the waitress placed our drinks on the table. "Thank you." I spoke, taking a sip of my Pink Lemonade.

Jasmine order an alcoholic drink, but I wasn't in the mood for that. I wanted some really sugary, and Lemonade was the first thing to come to my mind.

I poured some Lemonade into Karl's sippy cup, and got a free refill. We all soon ordered our food, and made conversation as we spoke. I took a look around at all the well dressed people that surrounded me, and it brought a wide smile to my face. I got up to move some of my balloons, since Karl kept playing with them and hitting them all over the place.

I quickly grabbed onto my phone once I felt the vibration of it, indicating a call. I immediately answered the FaceTime call once I read Yatta's contact name.

"Kenyana, I miss you." I couldn't stop smiling through the screen.

"Congratulations to my baby, mayne. I love you so much, shorty. And I miss you more, can't wait till you come outchea' this weekend." He spoke with a wide smile on his face. I could tell he was tired, but he wasn't trying to show it.

"Wassup, family! I miss y'all out there, hella bad." He replied to everyone since they were all excited and happy he called. Yatta was actually sounding better than he did before, with the wires still on the side of his mouth.

"Hey, cous!" Jas poked her head into the screen.

"Don't think I forgot 'bout you, cuzzo. I'm so proud of y'all both, blood." He shook his head with the smile still plastered on his face.

"Thank you." Jas and I spoke in unison.

"Aye, cuddy." Milli spoke and I turned the camera to him.

"A.B, my blooda'. What it do? I see all y'all niggas suited up, I fucks wit it." He chuckled.

"You feel me? Had to get cleaned up." He rubbed his hands together.

"Really feelin yo' self, though." Siya teased Milli and he waved her off.

"That my bean headed ass sister? Siya, blood. It's crazy that I miss you, even though you get on my nerves." He spoke and she playfully rolled her eyes.

"Boy, I'll knock you out. You get on my nerves more, if anything." I handed her the phone, and it was soon being passed around to everyone.

"Good speaking to y'all, but where's my son son and Gigi?" He asked and I took the phone back from my mom.

I looked over at Karl who acted as if he was patiently waiting for the phone. Gianna at first was asleep next to her mom. Tamia said that she wouldn't listen when she told her it was time to go to bed, and now she's been knocking out every other hour.

Karl cheesed into the phone as he struggled to hold it up. I tried to let him do it on his own, but it wasn't working out at all. Karl and Yatta were just the cutest together and I really can't wait until he gets back.

Yatta spoke to his dad again, before Gianna woke up when her food arrived.

"My princess, you was knocked out." He laughed as she rubbed her eyes.

"Mhm! Uncle, I miss you so much!" She spoke as she grabbed the phone. Her face was all up in the screen.

"I miss you too. I can't wait till I get back, y'all not knowin." He shook his head.

"We knowin alright." His aunty pitched in.

"Mayne, I ain't never been this far from y'all, and for so long." He continued to shake his head.

After talking on the phone with everyone for some time, we ended up saying our goodbyes and I hung up the phone, putting it away so I could focus on my food.

My mind was still on Yatta, and I started thinking about the dumb hoe who set him up. I made sure to let Kenyana know as soon as possible. When I did, he was so pissed and really didn't know what to say. He always knew she was crazy, but not fucking retarded to set him up, knowing who the hell he is.

All he could say was that he'd handle it, and we haven't talked about it since. I also haven't heard from her at all since I told him. Usually, she'd be all up under my pictures talking hella shit, but she hasn't said anything else since the day I told Yatta.

After we ate and talked some more, we all got ready to leave. We were all headed back to my crib anyway, since we weren't done celebrating our success. They all said they had gifts for Jas and I, so you already know we couldn't wait to open them.

Since I changed from my heels into my sandals once we left our graduation location, I was able to hold Karl's hand and allow him to walk as we excited the restaurant. We walked outside and ended up taking a lot more pictures, retaking some that didn't come out too good.

Since it got a little cold, I put Karl's jacket on for him. He had only been sick 2 times before, and I want to keep it that way.

Siya ended up taking Kj from me as we walked towards my car. She placed him on the trunk, and played their little game that they called "Spaceship". Kj couldn't stop laughing as Kasiya swooped him around in different directions, then placed him back on the trunk.

My baby was glowing, so I told Siya to hold him there while I took his pictures. I didn't want to stop because he looked so damn cute, but new I didn't need like 50 of the same picture. I picked a good one, and posted it on my page.

MameLeanna: Who I do it for 😍😩. My everything & more 🤞🏾🌍.

I tagged Yatta in the pic, and put my phone into my purse. After getting settled into the car, I took off and back to my house. Even though I was tired, I wanted to be around my family for as long as I could, until it was time for them to go back down to LA.

Especially with my little brother always traveling with his team at his own University, times like this when we're all together are not gonna happen as often as they use to, since we're all so busy. All we're missing is Yatta, but he'll be home soon.
