Ash slowly woke up on his Pokemon Centre bed. Today was the day they left Viridian. Ash looked at his egg on the table and sighed, 'It has been 3 years still it hasn't hatched...'

Ash got into his usual attire of a blue black jacket over full sleeved t shirt and black pants. He wore his Aura Gloves and clipped the 3 Pokeball to his belt. He looked at Trapinch's Pokeball and remembered the kindness the Viridian Gym leader showed him...

Ash was very happy to receive Trapinch. He would release him and introduce him to the team today.

Ash packed up everything and went downstairs into the Pokemon Center main room.

Nurse Joy was still on the desk...glaring at him. Seriously? Was the Rocket attack his fault? Can't she be a little thankful that he saved the Pokemon Centre?

He sighed and approached her, "Thanks for the room. I am now checking out"

She 'hmph'-ed and took the keys from Ash, "Don't die out there brat!" She scowled...Ash blinked, "Is that your personal way of showing concern?"

She growled and a tick mark appeared on her forehead...Oh how Ash loved to mess with people.

Ash had the smallest of smirks on his face as he got out of the Pokemon Centre leaving a fuming Nurse Joy behind.

He exited the Pokemon Centre and went to the nearby field. He tapped Trapinch's Pokeball and released it...

The orange colored ground type appeared on the battlefield with a confused look...It turned towards Ash and said, "Trap. Pinch! Trap pinch trap?"

Unknown to Trapinch Ash was an aura user and perfectly understood his speech, 'Hey there...I am Trapinch. Who are you? Where is Giovanni? I don't see him anywhere...Oh scratch that...Gahh! I forget that humans can't understand me anyway....'

'Uhh Trapinch you wanna take that back? Cause you know I understand you perfectly...'

The Trapinch blinked, 'Oh greeeeaaaaaat! Just fucking greeeeaaaaaat, now I am hearing voices in my head...'

'No, those are not voices. That is me...' Ash told calmly...Trapinch blinked again, 'Now the voice is claiming to be someone? Hello? Voice? Voice? Who are you?'

Ash promptly face-palmed, he marched up to Trapinch and lowered to his level, 'Listen stupid Pokemon! Giovanni was your trainer but since he had problems with dragon types and he deemed me a worthy trainer he gifted you to me. Now I am your trainer, you get it?'

Trapinch's face immediately turned into a sad one, 'Giovanni hates dragon types? But I would have evolved into a nice Flygon...*sigh*But human...how do you talk to me?'

'I am an Aura user' Ash replied...Trapinch's eyes widened, 'Fine! You look and sound like a nice trainer. So I will obey you'

Ash smiled slightly, 'Thanks Trapinch. Let's be friends okay, I promise I will train you into a strong Flygon' Ash extended his hand towards Trapinch who shook it with her small ant like hand.

'Now Trapinch I need to scan you...Is that okay?' Trapinch nodded. Ash took out his Pokedex and scanned Trapinch, "Trapinch is female and has the ability Hyper Cutter that prevents attack reduction. Its known moves are : Sand Tomb, Sandstorm, Dig, Tackle, Earth Power (Locked egg move), Dragon Pulse (Locked egg move)"

Ash whistled, "You have some serious firepower over here once you evolve into Vibrava..."

'I know I am amazing alright?' Trapinch laughed.

'Very well...Listen Trapinch today we are leaving Viridian City and entering Viridian Forest. That is the home to many poison and bug types. Since ground types are immune to poison, you will have to handle all the poisonous bugs there alright?'

'Yup! You can count on me! Poisons won't do shit to me!'

Ash chuckled lightly and petted Trapinch...For a moment Trapinch went felt something very warm inside him...A feeling of being cared for...A feeling that someone looks out for you...And it was kind of ironic...That this not so sociable, almost cold to other strangers was so caring to his pokemon and his dear people...

Trapinch won't let down her new trainer...No way in hell.

Ash smiled, "Now then let's get you back to the Pokeball and head for Viridian Forest eh? We are losing daylight..." Ash said before he recalled Trapinch to his pokeball and walked towards the exit of Viridian City towards Viridian Forest.

TIME SKIP : JUST BEFORE ENTERING VIRIDIAN FOREST...

Ash looked at the massive forest in front of him and sighed...The road to Viridian and Pewter was certainly a long one...He checked himself for all antidotes, potions and other things he would need and entered the massive forest.

Ash walked on the rather curvy road of the Viridian Forest with big twists and turns...Suddenly he heard a voice, "HEY YOU! I WANT TO BATTLE YOU!"

Ash turned back to see a boy of his age wearing khaki shorts and blue t shirt holding out a pokeball...Ash turned to him with his usual cold look, "Battle eh? Very well..."

The boy who was a little unnerved by the black haired silver streaked person with blue eyes he just challenged...

"G-Go Metapod!!" The boy yelled and the green colored bug appeared on the battlefield.

Ash sighed knowing just what kind of a match this was gonna be and took out his Trapinch...She definetly needed some battle experience.

As soon as the orange colored ant pit Pokemon appeared the boy gasped, "WOW! A Trapinch so cool! Anyway! We are gonna beat it with our ultimate defense! USE HARDEN METAPOD!" The bug glowed a metallic color showing the hardening skin.

Ash blinked...Ultimate defense? Harden? Are these trainers THAT pathetic?

"Trapinch use Sand Tomb to trap it then Dig underground and come upwards with a Tackle"

Trapinch followed. She used sand to trap the Metapod and then the sand started to swirl around the Metapod effectively hurting it and then she burrowed underground with dig and came up from below Metapod while using Tackle...Metapod was out like a light. Leave it at that.

The boy gasped, "WHAT?! HOW DID YOU BEAT OUR ULTIMATE DEFENSE?!"

As the boy kept on ranting Ash had recalled Trapinch and was already gone...He was in no mood to explain it all to the boy...By the time the boy was finished...Ash was long gone...He sweatdropped and realized he was ranting for hours now...

Ash rolled his eyes and thought, 'Seriously are all the trainers in Viridian Forest this pathetic? Harden attack? Ultimate defense? Even Leafy tells better jokes than that...'

Somewhere far away where Leaf was sitting by a riverbank trying to catch a water Pokemon she sneezed...Her fishing pole dropped from her hand and she lost the Tentacool that was eating the bait, 'Ashy just had to think of me? Now? ARGH!! I HAVE TO GET A WATER POKEMON DAMMIT!!'

Back to Ash, Trapinch who wanted to spend time outside the Pokeball was walking beside Ash and she giggled, 'Hey trainer, I like to battle, use me more in battles okay?'

Ash thought for a moment, 'Sure...but right now you need some training before facing harder opponents'

Trapinch nodded. She knew better than to get arrogant and fight powerful opponents just to get her hopes crushed. She would train first.

Ash and Trapinch continued to travel through the forest...occasionally any wild bug would stumble upon them only to get trapped by Trapinch's Sand Tomb. Ash was having a rather good experience in the forest. Except for the fact that the most pathetically pathetic Bug type trainers would occasionally bump into him and challenge him...

Hours went by like mere seconds and soon it was dark. Ash sighed as he decided to make the camp now. He looked at his travelling buddy, Trapinch to see that she was in high spirits...Ash really liked his new family member. Trapinch was calm, cool, level-headed in battle and she LOVED battles more than anything in the world....err...except for Bulk Berries.

Ash chuckled to himself when Trapinch devoured a bush of Bulk Berries they came across in mere minutes.

Soon he got to making his camp....He put up his small tent and lighted the fire and started to cook Berry Gravy...It was a rather simple dish made out of many kinds of delicious squashed berries. It was sweet to taste and very healthy. Delia, his mom taught him that. Speaking of Delia...Oh man...he hadn't called her since the day he started his journey. Calling her would be the first thing he does when he reaches Pewter.

Anyway, when he had finished cooking he took out all his Pokemon and fed them the canned Pokemon food which they ate happily.

'Hey Ash you didn't introduce us to our new member did you?' Ralts asked...Ash shook his head, 'I am sorry...I forgot to do that, anyway please welcome our new family member Trapinch'

'HI! I am Trapinch! Nice to meet ya people!' She chirped happily.

They all greeted each other and soon it was nighttime. Ash called out Luxio, 'Hey Luxio, you are a nocturnal Pokemon aren't you?' Luxio nodded with a evil glint in his eyes, 'Good then you are keeping watch. And I won't stop you to eat any wild bug that wanders around here okay?'

'Hehehe! YUMMY WILD BUGS!!' Luxio licked his lips hungrily...Man his bloodlust was increasing day by day since that moment he evolved.

Ash thanked Luxio for taking watch and got into his sleeping bag with his egg near him for warmth....

TIME SKIP : Almost Dawn...

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" Ash was woken up by a horrid scream echoing through the silence of the peaceful dawn.

Ash looked around to see Luxio using Thunder Fang on something...or rather someone...

The boy around Ash's age cried with a few tears in his eyes, "YOU HAVE FRIED MY ASS WITH THE THUNDER FANG! AAAAAAHHHHHH" He clutched his rear in pain where Luxio had bit.

'Luxio what happened that you bit this boy?'

'Ash! He had a sword! LOOK OVER THERE!!' Luxio pointed towards the left where a katana lied on the ground.

Ash's eyes grew cold as he turned towards the boy who was yelping in pain, "What were you trying to do with the katana? What purpose do you have with me? Answer me or I will let my Luxio feed on your corpse..." Ash spoke chillingly...Luxio grinned maliciously and licked his lips...

The boy froze under the glare and that threat and replied shakily, "I-I...I a-am Sa-Samurai...I-I wa-wanted t-to cha-challenge y-you..."

"With a sharp katana like that?" Ash asked with a glare.

"I-I...A-all samurai h-have bl-blades like th-that...I-I am sorry..." He boy answered. Ash sighed, "Fine. If you want a challenge you approach the one you wish to challenge and just say it. Not carry such a weapon with you...Next time remember that or my Luxio would not be merciful..."

The boy gulped and nodded, "S-So d-do you accept the challenge?"

Ash nodded, "Okay"

Soon Samurai and Ash got into two corners of a clearing. Ash sighed and called out to Luxio, who eagerly nodded for the battle...

"Go Pinser!" Samurai took a Pinser out of his Pokeball...The Stag Beetle pokemon appeared with a menacing look...Luxio was far from intimidated by the bug.

"Pinser Vice Grip attack!" Pinser dashed forwards with the horns on its head swishing menacingly...

'Luxio wait for the right moment and then use Thunder Wave to paralyze it. Then use Thunder Fangs till it is out' Ash ordered. Luxio nodded...Although he wondered...This strategy was kind of.....brutal. He noted never to wake up Ash at the break of dawn...Ever.

Anyway as soon as Pinser came into striking range Luxio jumped out of the path and used a blue colored lightning bolt to paralyze Pinser.

Then he charged up electrical energy in his mouth and bit down on Pinser...Ahh how he enjoyed the taste of that...

"PPPINNNNNSSSSEEERRRRR!!!" The paralyzed bug pokemon cried out in pain as electricity continued to pass into its body where Luxio bit.

"SSSSSEEEEERRRRR!!!" It cried once again as Luxio tightened his jaws around Pinser as injected another good dose of electricity into it...

Samurai took out his Pokeball and returned Pinser, "Pinser...thank you" He took out another Pokeball and took out a Metapod...

Ash scoffed, "Luxio end this quick okay? Do whatever you want..." Luxio grinned once again...he had free realm to do whatever he wanted? This is paradise! He was starting to like his trainer more and more...

Luxio decided to try out something new...He slowly pulled out the cold Ice type energy from inside his body and channeled it into his jaws...His fangs started to glow a metallic white color and he dashed towards the Metapod...

CHOMP!

He bit down on the green bug pokemon and soon ice began to cover the body of the Metapod...When he stopped concentrating Ice energy into his jaws and moved back to see...Metapod completed cased inside ice...

Ash smiled, 'Great achievement Luxio. You have made Ice Fang battle ready. You can have as many Nanab Berries as you like for reward today...'

'Hehehe, decided to try out something new...I didn't think it would work actually' Ash promptly face-palmed at that...

The Samurai recalled his frozen and defeated Pokemon and turned to Ash. "..."

"Uh hey...I won the match, anyway, do you know the escape route to Pewter?" Ash asked...Samurai nodded...a little sadly on the brutal defeat, "Yeah. It's that way. Just 2 days travel from here..." He pointed towards a direction.

Ash nodded curtly, "Thanks..."

And then when Samurai had left Ash he went to pack up his tent and his camp. After some time he was all packed up and ready to go in the direction Samurai showed to...

So Ash started to walk.

And he kept walking for hours...After many hours of constant walking he reached a clearing. Ash knew Pewter's gym leader Brock is no pushover. He had to train and teach his Pokemon some real good moves and make a strategy to win...So in the clearing he decided to camp for today and he took out his Pokemon.

As soon as Trapinch, Luxio and Ralts came out Ash spoke, 'Hi guys. It seems like I have planned a nice strategy for Brock. Trapinch is a ground type. So he would definetly be one of my chosen Pokemon. And Luxio as much as I am sorry to say this, you have a severe weakness of Rock types. But you know the Ice Fang...so that balances the things out. And Ralts...I want you to MASTER ALL of your known moves because at the moment it seems that you are going to be sitting out Brock's match'

Ralts head lowered in disappointment, 'I was hoping to fight...'

'I know Ralts...I know...but you have to understand, if I sent you in the gym battle chances of you losing are greater than Luxio or Trapinch, so please sit this one out okay?'

'Fine!' Ralts agreed hesitantly.

So the second day in Viridian Forest was spent on very little travelling and much more training. Ash still remembered his near-death experience at the hand of those Fearow so he too trained with his Pokemon in his Aura Abilities. He could heal at a much faster rate now and his attacks were more precise...

TIME NEXT FEW DAYS...

The next three days of travel were not very eventful except for the time that a dozen Beedrill chased them. Luxio, Ralts and Trapinch took care of them easily with their attacks...Note that the Beedrill will think ten times before encountering any electric Pokemon any time soon *cough*Luxio Megavolt*cough*.

Today Ash was supposed to get out of the Viridian Forest...He was walking and now the canopy above him was starting to become lighter. The vegetation cover was starting to lessen and the stone grey texture of Pewter started to come into view.

Just after a few hours of walking Ash stood outside the gates of Viridian City on a large boulder. He was relaxing in the blowing wind and enjoying the view of the massive city in front of him when,

"HEY! THAT IS MY BOULDER! YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR STANDING ON IT!!"

AN : And DONE! Hi Guys this chapter is also completed. And as you can guess the voice belongs to Brock's dad Flint. No, in my story Brock and Misty would not travel with Ash. I think traveling with people and relying on them made Ash weaker in the anime. Here, no such thing will happen. Brock will not cook for him, Misty would not keep pestering him about her bike, he would do everything alone.
