Amy

"Aaron..Aaron, slow down", I winced as his grip on my hand tightened.

He just pretended not to hear me and kept walking back towards the hall pulling me along with him. As soon as we reached the door, he stopped abruptly almost making me fall. Almost.

He looked at me in the eye and gritted, "Do not leave my side. At all."

He let go of my hand and walked inside. I walked in with him. There were fewer people than earlier. Looks like some of them left. How long was I gone for?

He just smiled at everyone else like nothing happened at all as we walked across the hall. He made his way straight to where Peter was standing. I just kept on following him.

"Peter, get Amy at the back gate in five", he whispered to him, gave me a glare and left.

"Amy, I didn't see you the whole night. You look beautiful tonight", Peter smiled at me.

"Thanks, Peter. You look nice too. Is Jenny here?" I asked him.

"Nah, no plus ones allowed, right?" Peter smiled and I nodded.

"Did you have fun tonight?" I asked him.

"Yes, like I always do. But, for you it was a first. Did you enjoy?" he asked.

"Yes, I had fun. Where's Daniel? Have you seen him?", I smiled.

"He...went somewhere with company a few minutes ago", he shrugged.

I just rolled my eyes and shook my head, as I understood the underlying meaning, and checked the time by my watch.

"Let's go before he kills us", I told him.

"Yeah, what's up with boss? Why did he look so angry?" Peter asked as we walked to the gate.

"Angry? He was smiling", I gave him a fake laugh.

"That was a show. Didn't you notice? His fist was clenched in an iron grip", Peter gave me scared look.

"Looks like only I can't read him", I muttered to myself.

"What?" Peter asked.

"Nothing." I shot him a fake smile as we continued walking.

We reached the gate and Aaron was already waiting outside with his car that was parked near the doorstep. There was no one around except us.

"Thanks, Peter. We're leaving now. Take care of the remaining guests and let Dan know if anything, okay?" Aaron said to Peter the minute we got near him.

"Yes, boss", Peter said and left.

"Aaron, I-"

"Just get inside. Not a sound from you", Aaron gritted without looking at me and got in himself. I silently followed biting my lip. I was a little nervous and a little scared too. I have never seen him like this. I don't think I can even loosely put my finger on what he might do.

The second I engaged my seatbelt we hit the road. We stayed quiet for a few minutes. There was pin drop silence in the car.

I know he said not a word but, the silence in the car was so scary that I just had to break it.

"It was...a nice party", I said slowly, but Aaron just kept driving straight. His jaw was still clenched.

"Everyone enjoyed the music and dancing", I tried again but, no response. I am sure this is silence before the storm.

I pursed my lips and tried again, "Why didn't you wait until everyone left? You're the host."

I bit my nails with anticipation. As soon as we got on the highway, Aaron suddenly stepped on the gas and raised the speed to eighty five.

"How was..How was your night? Did you-"

"Did you know some of your colleagues think that you and your long lost friend are dating?", Aaron asked me through his clenched teeth.

"Yeah, even I didn't know until the night we went clubbing. Ac-"

"So, you already know", Aaron cut me off and I noticed his grip on the steering wheel tightened and his knuckles show white.

"Actually, Luke and I-", I started but, Aaron just stepped on the gas so hard that the speed suddenly increased to a hundred and ten.

"Aaron, what are you doing? Slow down", I almost yelled.

But he didn't slow down at all. He just kept looking straight at the road and spat, "I told you do not talk to me right now."

That shut me up for the whole ride home. I was scared as hell but I also wanted to laugh a little. The thought that Aaron was jealous for me made me want to dance a little. Also, the fact that he is jealous over Luke made it even worse. I mean Luke? He is already engaged and most importantly, it is not possible for anything to happen between us.

I couldn't control myself and turned to look outside the window, biting my lip to stop myself. I gulped down the laughter and rubbed my face to calm myself down. I wonder what Aaron's reaction will be when I tell him the truth. Will he laugh at himself and his stupidity?

Wait a minute. Why should I tell him, though? I mean, he has made me cry so much. Finally, I have something that bothers him. Why not have some fun? This could be my chance of giving him a taste of his own medicine.

Let's see how well you handle jealousy, Mr. Aaron Kingston.

I bit my cheek to stop my smile and took my phone to call the man in question.

"Hey, Luke," I said as soon as he picked up.

"Amy, what is it? Did Aaron -"

"Did you reach home safe?" I asked, deliberately adding a sugary voice.

"Amy? Why are you talking like this?"

"No, I am still in the car. Yeah, I had fun tonight, "I replied with a smile and twirled my hair on my finger for effects.

"Amelia Kingston, if I happen to lose my job after tonight, I swear you are sponsoring my wedding," Luke laughed.

I couldn't control myself anymore, and I laughed out loud. It probably looked to Aaron like I was laughing at something Luke said. I so badly wanted to look at Aaron's face right now, but I was controlling myself. If I look at him, he will know that I am acting.

"Of course, don't worry about that," I said as I stopped laughing.

"I'll take your word for it," Luke said and chuckled lightly.

I saw that we were about to reach home, so I decided to hang up.

"Listen, I am reaching home. I'll call you in sometime, okay?" I said, giggling slightly for adding effects.

I hanged up and secretly texted Luke to call me in a few minutes.

I looked at Aaron from the corner of my eye as he drove the car into the parking lot. I am sure at this point that his anger must be on cloud nine.

The minute he parked the car, we both got out, and he slammed the door of the car so hard that the sound of the echo was deafening. He held my hand and pulled me to our home. As soon as we got in, he let go of me. He angrily threw away his jacket and keys on the floor and turned me around by my arm to face him.

"What the fuck are you up to?" he yelled at me.

"What do you mean?" I asked faking innocence.

"Do not act innocent, Amy. Answer me, what's going on?", he asked through his clenched teeth, taking a step toward me and making me take one back.

"What are you trying to say?" I asked frowning as I took another step back.

"What am I trying to say? You tell me, what the hell were you doing at the party the whole fucking night?" he asked taking a step ahead again.

"What was I doing? I was just-" I started but he cut me off.

"Just sticking to your long lost friend the whole bloody time", he glared at me.

"Yeah, I was. So? What's wrong with that? He is my best friend, and how does what I do matter to anyone?" I asked him, taking a few steps back until my back touched the wall.

"It matters when half the office thinks that you two are dating each other! To add to it, you knew about it for months and never bothered telling anyone that you are bloody hell married! On the other hand, you decided to go and dance with your best friend on a bloody romantic song in front of everyone. Great! Just fucking great! Do you have any idea what I have overheard people saying?" he asked towering over me.

"I don't give a damn about what anyone says and you know it. I'd rather enjoy myself than think about pleasing them", I said angrily.

"Yes, of course. Why will you care? You were enjoying it so much that you decided to continue dancing for three songs straight, correct?" He slammed his palm next to me on the wall and glared at me with anger.

"If you were bothered so much by us dancing together, you should have just asked me to dance with you", I glared at him.

"Like you would have ever agreed!" he rolled his eyes.

"You could have tried! I was standing alone for an hour, Aaron. Bored in a corner. But, how in the world would you know? You were busy enjoying the attention those people were showering on you", I said angrily.

"Yes, of course, because that wouldn't seem weird at all. The CEO of the company dancing with some employee who joined three months ago. Do you realise how that would have seemed? It would have made me look like the cheating husband and you like a bloody tramp. Or worse, they would have figured that you are Amelia Kingston, my wife and then you would have blamed me again saying that I had planned the whole thing to ruin your life", Aaron yelled again.

"What rubbish! Since when do you care what anyone thinks of me? What would you have done if everyone knew that I was your wife? I'll tell you. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. You just care about yourself. Also, it wouldn't have made you look like the cheating husband, Aaron. You are the cheating husband. Have you forgotten what you did to me right here in this house?" I yelled back.

"What I did or why I did it is not the question right now. The question is what you are doing, Amy."

"What am I doing? What are you trying to say?" I asked incredulously.

"Since when did you become like this? So friendly and flirty? You were never like this before. I have seen you at some parties before too. You never danced so freely. You were always the wallflower. You were always uptight and a hard nut to crack. You didn't giggle and follow people into secluded areas without a question. You never trusted so easily. You didn't call and ask about their whereabouts like if they reached home safe or not. So tell me, what has happened to you?" Aaron's eyes were red with fury.

"So, you can have all the fun in the world that you want, and I am supposed to always remain a boring person?"

"Nothing was ever boring about you, Amy. You just...you didn't behave like...like this, like a happy-go-lucky person, so carefree, with anyone except me. You have always been reserved. But, recently it seems like you've changed."

"People change. You did too. I guess I learned from the best", I spat at him.

"Learned from me? Really? It's funny because I don't see it. I am the least of your concerns nowadays. I feel like I am not even a part of your life nowadays. You don't even look at me anymore. If we weren't living in the same house, we'd practically be just two strangers. You think I haven't noticed? The way you have been avoiding me since last week? The way your attention has been diverted ever since you joined the office?" he glared at me.

"First of all, why should I bother to look at you? When I know that it will only remind me of the man you really are and how foolish I was, why should I even bother to be anything more than a stranger to you? What I do, what I don't do is no worry of yours, Mr. Kingston. You have no right to ask me anything." I looked at him in the eye, matching his fury.

He held my arms tightly and pulled me to him. He stared into my eyes and gritted, "I do not have a right? I have all the right in the world. I am your husband, dammit. Do you understand? Or have you forgotten that also?"

"Husband? I don't think you deserve to be my husband. You have not treated me like a wife at all, and yet, you think you can come here and question me about my life. You are mistaken if you think I will comply," I said angrily and tried to free myself.

His grip was hurting me so I winced as I tried to free myself. He realised it and loosened his hold on me. Just then my cell phone rang in my hand. I looked at it. Obviously, it was Luke. I was about to pick it up before it was snatched out of my hand and thrown across the room. I stared with wide eyes as I saw the glass break into pieces.

"What the fucking hell? Have you lost your mind?" I shouted at Aaron and pushed him away trying to walk to my poor phone.

But, before I could take a step, Aaron pulled me back into my place and held me straight.

"Let me go, you asshole", I yelled.

"Give me my answer and I will let you go", he said slightly calmer. A one in a millionth part calmer.

"I am not bloody entitled to answer anything at all to you", I yelled frustrated.

"Stop playing games with me, Amy. It is becoming more and more important with each passing second, woman. Tell me honestly. What is going on between the two of you?" he asked looking straight into my eyes searching for the answer.

"Why do you care? Why is it so important for you, Aaron? You have your own life, right? You have your Jasmine, Ruby, Ashley, that girl what was her name, yeah, Grace and god knows who else. I never ask you anything. I never ask you if you have anything still going on with them. I don't say a word when they cling to you right in front of me. Then, why are you asking? You have made it clear that you hate me. There is no relation like a husband and wife between us. Then, why?" I asked slowly looking at him.

"Even I never questioned you when you returned home at two thirty in the night from a party. I never questioned you about your lunches or your hair fixing moment in the parking lot. I never said a word too when you left for today's event with him. I see you both in office everyday. All the time, everywhere, you are always together whispering, gossiping, laughing, holding hands and hugging like there is no tomorrow. I never said anything because I thought you both are friends and it is okay. But, I am questioning you right now because I want to know the truth", Aaron said getting angry again.

"But, why? It is not like I will be stuck to you forever, right? You can't keep me in this revenge setup forever. Eventually, it will be over and then maybe one day I might find someone better than you. Someone who will cure all the pain that you gave me. Someone that I might trust more than anyone. You have hurt me a lot, Aaron. But, someday I might get over all of this, get over you and finally, find my soulmate. It maybe with anyone. If not Luke then perhaps someone else. You will have to accept it. I will ask for a divorce and you will have to give it to me. You will have to let me go. I might be able to lo-"

But, I could never finish what I was about to say. The words died in my mouth as Aaron captured my lips into his. It happened even before I could realise it. Like in a second. His warm lips engulfed mine before I could take a breath. I was too shocked to even move let alone kiss him back.

Aaron was kissing me feverently. Like his life depended on it. His hand were in my hair and he pulled me even closer. It was a demanding kiss. It was passionate and hungry. It was like he was putting all his anger in that one kiss. I still stood there like a statue. I couldn't bring myself out of the shock.

Slowly, as he pulled the pins out of my hair, I began closing my eyes. My head was yelling at me to push him away but, my heart didn't let me. Forget my heart, I think it was my lust. At that moment I realised, how much I missed it. How much I wanted it. I began responding to his kiss and kissed him with equal passion.

My hands travelled up his back and into his hair.

Oh! His chestnut brown hair still felt the same. So soft!

He bit my lip and I curled my fingers in his hair. His one arm was snaked around my waist and the other was supporting my head as he hastily sucked my lips. His fingers slowly ran down my spine making me shiver.

His lips left mine and trailed along my jawline. He licked my earlobe and kissed me there making my grip on his hair tighter. He slowly kissed where my shoulder and neck met. He bit me there slightly. His hands found their way to my nape. The minute I felt his fingers on my zipper, my eyes shot open.

I came back to my senses and abruptly pushed him away. He stumbled back and realization dawned on him as well. The lust in his eyes cleared as we both caught our breaths. We avoided looking at each other until we were breathing normally.

"What the bloody hell was that?" I spat at him.

"Why the bloody hell did you kiss me, Aaron? You had no right to do it", I don't know who I was more angry at him or myself.

"You kissed me back too", Aaron said looking at me.

"Exactly why I haven't slapped you yet. But why did you do it in the first place?" I asked angrily.

"I was angry", Aaron frowned at me.

"So? That doesn't give you any reason. Let's say, tomorrow you are angry at Peter. Will you kiss him too?" I asked angrily.

"Mel,-"

"Do not call me that right now. Why the bloody hell did you kiss me? Why are you even angry? It is my life, Aaron. I am not your property. I date, don't date. It is nothing to do with you and your revenge. It will not hamper your plans. I am still stuck with you here in this house, am I not? Then, how does it matter to you?"

"What do you mean how does it matter to me? Of course, it fucking matters to me", Aaron said angrily holding me.

"Why? Why does it matter?" I said with equal anger.

Aaron angrily pulled me toward him and yelled, "It matters because I -"

Aaron stopped and his eyes widened slowly. His mouth slightly fell open in shock as he looked at my face. He left my arms and averted his eyes a little and frowned as he stumbled back. I instinctively stepped forward to catch him but, he handled himself and moved as if my touch will burn him. He looked at my face and shook his head.

"Aaron?" I asked with a frown.

It seemed as if he was still in his thoughts and didn't hear me.

He frantically ran his hand over his face and in his hair and whispered, "Bloody hell."

He searched around until he found his keys and grabbed them. Without saying another word, Aaron walked out of the house shutting the door behind him.

What the hell did just happen?

I kept looking at the door with open mouth. It took me a minute to get out of my shock. I went to the place where my phone crashed. The screen was completely broken and the phone was turned off. I decided to put it on charge just to see if it starts. I kept it on charge and went to take a shower.

I took a long shower calming myself. I recalled all the things we spoke to each other. I know I could have just told him the truth and shut the matter off but, initially I just wanted him to suffer and later it became a matter of my ego. I wanted him to realise that what he did to me is so wrong. I wanted him to feel the pain I felt when he slept with other women in my own house. I wanted him to feel what it feels like when you care for someone and that someone leaves you all alone. No matter how much I deny it, of course, I know that Aaron cares for me.

But, I guess tonight I wanted to use his jealousy against him. For a moment, I thought he'd tell me the reason for his revenge if I continued this. But, I don't know what happened later. Why did he leave all of a sudden?

I got out of the shower and looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes fell on my swollen lips and the red mark on my neck. I blushed a little as I recalled the kiss. I enjoyed it more than I was supposed to. It was not even supposed to happen. But, it felt so right and so good. It was just like the old days. It was so passionate and hungry as if he was starving since so long.

I wanted to scold myself a little for giving in but, I couldn't bring myself too. I knew that I
