Hey Wattpad!!

So there's not really a lot to say... Except right now it's 4:15AM, and the only reason I'm awake right now is because my body thinks I should be awake. This is why I don't get early nights...

Anyway, enjoy the chapter:)

UPDATE 4/28/2013: The dedication is because she made a trailer for this book!!!:D It's on the side if you're on a computer!!:D <3

CHAPTER 8

The tears streamed down my face, and I couldn’t understand why this was hurting me so bad.

Why? I asked myself, needing an answer from something.

But I knew it was impossible. There was no real reason for this; my body just seemed to hate me.

I really hated karma, too. Of course she had a part in this. The bitch.

“Are you ok?” Rania asked, knocking on the door.

I cleared my throat. “Yeah, I’m fine.” I winced as my voice cracked slightly.

“No, you’re not. Now can I come in?” She asked.

I stood up shakily, taking a long look in the mirror. My eyes were puffy from crying, and my nose had turned a shiny red. I angrily wiped the tears away from my cheeks. I had to remember why this was a good thing, before the sadness took over me.

I could live my life now. I didn’t have cancer like the doctor’s had worried about, and this thing wasn’t going to kill me.

I opened the door with a sense of self-confidence.

“Why were you crying?” Rania asked, seeming angry.

“I’m just tired of the tests.” I said, then froze.

            “What tests?” Rania asked.

I sighed; I’d never told her about them either.

“A while ago I went to the doctors because of how bad I felt. They’ve been running a lot of tests since around June to see what’s wrong.” I told her honestly.

She hugged me. “You’ve been going through this for 3 months, and you didn’t tell me? Whatever, you had your reasons. Do they have any ideas?”

I shook my head. “They thought cancer first, but all tests came back negative.”

She breathed a sigh of relief. That was how her dad had died when she was just a year old.

“Do you need me to come with you?” Rania looked one hundred percent serious, I smiled. She really was my best friend.

“Thanks, but it’s ok. My dad takes me.” I wondered if I’d have to go back and see the options for my situation.

“Well, what do you want to do now?” Rania asked.

I thought. “Your mom said Matthew and Cameron could come over later because she’s going to some yoga thing.” I said.

“So, sweats and tank day?” She asked.

I nodded. “We can text the guys at around 6PM. It’s only 3PM now.”

She pulled me out of the bathroom. “We’re also going to stuff our faces with unhealthy crap. You know it helps.”

I laughed, already feeling a little better. It would take time to feel perfect again, but it would happen. It had to.

Rania grabbed a tub of cookie dough ice cream, groaning a little when she spun around.

“The Advil helps, but doesn’t completely rid me of the hangover.” She sighed, and I laughed. I didn’t usually react to alcohol as badly as I had that morning, so I assumed that my suffering had only been temporary.

Thank God. I didn’t think I could handle much more.

“We’re watching Legally Blond.” Rania said, and I shrugged.

            “Just play the movie.”

Three chick flicks and two tubs of ice cream later, neither me nor Rania felt like seeing the guys.

“I vote on not seeing any guys free until Monday.” She suggested.

            I nodded. “Definitely.”

My phone buzzed, and I checked it, noticing a Facebook notification; Cameron wanted to make our relationship Facebook official.

I showed Rania, and she laughed. “Press accept, and just watch the number of people who hate you go up.”

We put on another movie, only to be constantly interrupted by my phone.

By the end of the movie, I had a total of 38 hate comments, 16 congratulatory ones, and 73 likes.

“Maybe I should threaten to set Cameron on them.” I groaned as another hate comment was added.

“But it’s so funny…” Rania laughed.

I glared at her; I really didn’t like the comments. Not because they hurt, far from it, but because they were annoying as hell.

“Fine, tell him.” Rania sighed. “But you could have a lot of fun with this.”

I looked at her. “What did you have in mind?”

She smiled evilly, taking my phone to type something out. When she was done, I saw what she’d done.

She’d replaced my status with, Haters gonna hate, bitches gonna bitch, and I’m gonna have sex suckers.

I laughed loudly, clutching my stomach.

“This is too funny…” I choked out.

My phone buzzed again, but I noticed this time was a call from Cameron.

“Hey, what’s up?” I asked, mouthing to Rania who it was.

She giggled, slapping a hand over her mouth.

“Interesting status. Any chance I’m getting some tonight?” He asked.

I put him on speaker, signaling for Rania to be quiet.

“No, but Rania knows what she’s doing.” I bit my lip to hide the laughter, and saw Rania doing the same thing.

“You’re at Rania’s? Can we watch?” I heard Matthew say. He still sounded drunk. Apparently the guy could not handle alcohol… at all.

I swallowed my giggles. “I would say yes, but it’s up to Rania.”

I looked at her, and she smirked. “She tastes too good to wait for you to get here.” She said, adding an effective moan.

I turned away from the phone, trying to catch my breath. Holding in the urge to laugh was not easy.

“Damn…” I heard Cam groan, and couldn’t help myself; I burst into laughter, just as Rania did too.

            “What’s so funny?” Matthew asked.

“We’re not doing anything.” I chuckled.

There was silence on the other end.

“That is not funny. I got, uh-,” Cam trailed off, causing me to laugh so hard no sound was even coming out.

“He got hard.” I managed to tell Rania, who snorted.

“Damn boy gets that over you all the time.” She sighed, as her mom knocked.

“Girls, I’m going out now. Do I get a hug?” Misty asked.

Making sure I turned the guys off of speaker, we got up to say goodbye.

“Sexy mama.” I joked, looking at the outfit Misty was wearing. If I looked half as good as she did when I was older, I’d be happy in life.

“Thanks. Be careful, and I’ll see you both tomorrow.” Misty hugged us both. “Bye boys!” she shouted, and walked away.

I glanced at Rania, who looked shocked.

“How did she know?” She asked.

I shrugged, putting the phone back on speaker.

“-and you said you wanted to marry her and have kids, bro.” Cam’s voice said, and I motioned for Rania to be quiet.

            “Shit, seriously?” Matthew asked.

There was silence, followed by, “dude, you were insane.”

“Whatever, you’re so whipped it’s not even funny.” Matthew scoffed.

I froze. This could definitely get interesting.

“Shut up.” Cam sounded… nervous. I sighed, deciding to let him off the hook.

I coughed. “What did Matthew do to deserve such harsh words?” I asked.

            “Nothing.” Cam said quickly.

I shared a look with Rania, who shrugged.

“Well, I have to go. Bye girlfriend.” Cam rushed out, hanging up before I could respond.

            “That was weird.” Rania commented.

I just nodded in response. “Let’s just get on with our weekend. We’re seeing them at school on Monday anyway.”

Rania smiled. “Harry Potter marathon?”

By the time Monday morning came around, I was a lot better.

I hadn’t seen my dad on Sunday, so I asked him just before I left for school. “Dad, do I have to go back to the doctor’s for options?”

My dad nodded. “Whenever you’re ready.” He told me, giving me a hug.

“Thanks. See you later. Love you.” I walked out before he could see the wetness in my eyes. I might feel better, but it still hurt a little, too.

At school, Cam was ready and waiting for me at the front. Before I could fully get out of my car, his lips were on mine.

I kissed back for a minute,  before forcing myself to pull away.

“What was that for?” I asked.

Cam was breathing heavily. “Staking my claim. I needed to make sure every guy knows you’re my girlfriend.”

I looked around to see everyone doing their own thing, obviously not caring.

“No one’s looking.” I told him, and he smiled.

“See, it’s working.”

I laughed. “Whatever, Player. Get to class.”

I shouldered my bag, locked my car, and headed into the school.

Cam caught my hand. “Yes, ma’am.”

I sat down for lunch, groaning. “I swear, if one more idiot asks me if I’m really dating you, I will hurt them.”

Cam  kissed my head lightly. We’d already been dating for two weeks and two days, and still people had to ask me if the great Cameron Riter was my boyfriend.

I was getting ready to punch someone.

“Breathe, girl.” He told me, and I did, taking long, exaggerated breaths.

“Sorry, they just piss me off.”

Rania sat down. “Cam, please tell your best friend to back off. I am not pregnant.” She complained.

I rolled my eyes. Rania was supposed to have started her time of the month a week ago, and she still hadn’t.

Cam held his hands up in surrender. “Ok, don’t get snappy at me.”

Rania glared, and I elbowed him in the stomach.

“I’m not.” She insisted. I just ate my lunch, deciding to stay out of the conversation. I refused to get into this.

“He just wants you to be pregnant. Then he can marry you sooner.” Cam said.

I laughed. It was obvious that Matthew and Rania were in love, but neither of them had said it since that one party. Now he seemed to be looking for any excuse to say it, including suggesting pregnancy.

“Well, he needs to lay off. He won’t even let us do anything until we know for certain.” Rania whined.

I continued eating. Please don’t drag me into this…

“What do I do, Tay?” Rania asked.

I sighed. “Tell him you’ll go online and see how far along you have to be to do an accurate test, then take one. There’s no harm in it.” I told her.

She nodded. “I guess. I just don’t want to be a mom this early.” She looked slightly dazed, and I did nothing to get her back.

            “Are you ok?” Cam asked.

I nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine.” I hoped my smile didn’t look too fake.

“I don’t believe you, but I’ll let it go.” Cam muttered as the bell rang for the end of lunch.

I smiled appreciatively. “Thanks. Have fun in athletics.”

He pressed his lips on mine. “Have fun in choir.”

I nodded, dragging a still zoned out Rania behind me.

“I think I’ll be a good mom. Although, this would definitely change college plans.” She said, finally.

“You don’t even think you’re pregnant.” I said, the words coming out a lot harsher than I’d intended.

Rania looked slightly hurt, and I sighed. “But you’d make a great mom.”

She smiled. “Thanks. I’m honestly in that mood where I’d be happy either way.”

I loved the girl, but right now it was taking all my willpower to stay in the class, instead of skipping.

“Taylor, are you ok?” Rania asked.

I nodded. Again. “I’m just nervous about the next appointment.”

She gasped, ignoring the choir director like everyone else.

            “When is it?”

I thought. “We haven’t got an exact date yet, but I’m trying to get one in the next week.” I told her. Maybe I should actually do that…

“Shoot, I’m going to Matthew’s. Do you want me to tell Cam?”

I shook my head violently. “No. It’s too soon to be talking about personal crap like that.”

The director looked over at us, so I made Rania be quiet; I could talk to her about it later.

I didn’t, couldn’t focus right now. What if Rania, my best friend, was pregnant? Would we still be able to be friends? I didn’t know. She’d be an amazing mother though, just like Misty.

I was so deep in thought, I didn’t even notice the bell ringing.

“Come on. One more period for you.” She told me.

I laughed. “And then the rest of the week.”

“True, but aren’t you going over to Cam’s after his soccer practice?” She asked.

            “I wish. That’s tomorrow.”

My phone buzzed, and I checked it discreetly. Our school had a stupidly strict cell phone policy.

Doc appoint. after school tomorrow. Dad x

I sighed. “Apparently I’ll go to Cam’s after my doctor’s appointment.”

Rania hugged me. “It’ll be fine. Now go enjoy English.” She left, waving.

45 minutes later, I was ready to go home.

“Taylor, can I see you for a second?” Mr. Wendi asked.

I waited while everyone else left.

“Did you want to do the UIL this year?” He asked.

I blinked; I’d forgotten about that.

“I wish I could, but I can’t. There’s too much else for me to worry about right now.” I said, and I really wished none of the drama around me was happening so I could say yes.

“I wish you could, too. It’s your senior year, Taylor. Do you even know what college you want to go to?”

He didn’t give me a chance to reply, dismissing me with a,  “think about it.”

I left the room, annoyed. I knew I wanted to be a journalist, I knew that if I acted nice I could convince my mom to pay for that to happen, and I knew that I had to start applying now. But I didn’t want to.

I wanted to see the world, explore a little before settling into a profession.

“Hey, babe.” Cam’s arms wrapped around my waist, scaring the crap out of me. “What are you thinking about?”

I got my bag from my locker, slamming the door.

“College. Life. The usual.” I told him, simply.

            “Ah, that. How’s it going?”

I shrugged, trying to focus as his fingers massaged my lower back.

“I can help if you want.” He suggested.

“It’s not the getting in part I’m stuck on; it’s picking the college.” I told him.

He nodded. “Do you have any idea what you want to do? That will narrow down your choices.”

I rolled my eyes. “No shit. Where are you planning on going?”

“I’ve already applied to my top three colleges.” He shrugged.

We stopped at my car, and I hugged him. “Good for you. See you tomorrow?”

            He nodded. “Bye, girlfriend.”

He gave me a quick kiss before heading back to soccer practice. Usually the soccer teams didn’t start practicing until after Christmas, but the Coach insisted on practicing all year long.

I smiled as I headed home.

No matter how bad I felt, Cam had a way of making me feel better. I guess there was always something good to weigh out the bad in life.

Not my best, I know, but comment/vote/fan:)
