Hey Wattpad!!!

Ok, next chapter! It's the big one! As in, meet the parents!!!:D AND (for them) welcoming in 2013. Yeah, reality has a little way to go, but whatever!:)

First: thank you to @xxLilDhampir101xx , and @SparklingGummyBears for their stories! Thank you everyone, actually. I had a lot of fun reading those, but these two just gave me the best ideas that I could actually incorporate into the chapter, so woo!:)

Anyway the video on the side is because

a) the dark haired girl is Megan Mace, and her hair/make up in this video are EXACTLY how I picture Taylor's to look for this party. Also, Megan Mace is the girl I've chosen to play Taylor, but that's purely because I think Megan is GORGEOUS. I don't think IN ANY WAY Megan is like Taylor, and I mean that as a complete compliment:)

b) the blond hair girl, Liz, has the shirt I picture for Taylor.  Cute, right?:)

and finally c) these twins are freaking amazing talented. Also, check out their song "Are You Happy Now" if you haven't already. It's about anti-bullying, and it's AMAZING. Also, apparently anti-bullying is a major issue with celebrities right now, so I figured I'd add on to it.

Don't bully, it's mean!

Anyway, enjoy the chapter:) It's REALLY long this time:) It was 15 pages on Word!:D

 CHAPTER FOURTEEN

I shook my head, stepping into his house. “No, but I don’t think I ever will be.” I told him, honestly.

He glanced over me quickly, smirking slightly. “Damn, girl. You look hot. I might have to sneak you upstairs for a minute.” He winked, pulling me into a hug.

I laughed. “Just a minute? Anything you need to tell me about that?”

Cam didn’t say anything, pulling back instead so he could lean back in and kiss me lightly.

My arms wrapped around his neck, and I fought to remember that I was about to meet his mom. I couldn’t lose control completely right now.

“Why did you choose today to look edible?” Cam moaned, as I somehow convinced my body to pull away.

I shrugged. “Because tomorrow is a new year, I might as well look hot for it.” I took his hand. “Come on, let’s get this done.”

Cam raised his eyebrows. “Are you sure?”

I took a couple of deep breaths, smiled, and nodded. “Let’s go. Now.” I said. No way was I ready, but this was closest I’d ever be. All I had to remember was that she already liked what she’d heard, so the hardest part, in my opinion, was over. I just had to keep that reputation up.

Cam pulled me along to the living room, and I acted as though the house was new to my eyes, looking around at everything. It was a little bit different, with some Christmas lights and tinsel around the walls, and a mini silver tree in a couple of corners. The house itself wasn’t huge, but it was spacious. Emma apparently had a knack for decorating.

“Mom, this is Taylor Quessie. Tay, this is my mom, Emma.” Cam said, pulling me into the living room.

Emma was sitting on the couch, sipping on a glass of wine. She had subtle red hair, and eyes that Cam clearly inherited. Other than the eyes, there were very few signs that they were related.

Emma squealed, placing her glass on the table and standing up. “Hi! I’m so excited to meet you!” She walked over to me, and hugged me tightly.

I was shocked. I barely had time to give her a quick, awkward pat on the back before she pulled away to look at me.

“You are so pretty! Cam’s photo doesn’t do you justice! Oh, sit down! We have a lot to talk about.” Emma pulled me to the couch, and I sat down. What was going on exactly?

“Mom, let her breathe.” Cam said, earning a pout from Emma.

“Hush you. You weren’t going to tell me about Taylor, were you?” She asked.

Cam rubbed the back of his neck. “Well, not unless we hit six months…” He muttered.

Emma sighed. “I swear, him and Matthew are so similar. Apparently Matthew wanted to wait six months before introducing his girlfriend to me too.” She frowned a little.

I laughed nervously. “Rania? I think she’s coming tonight.” I said.

“You know her?” Emma asked, and I nodded. “Good! It’ll be like a double date for you guys!” She clapped her hands together excitedly, and the smile this time wasn’t faked. Emma was… weird. But I liked it.

“So, I have a million questions for you!” She exclaimed.

Ok, maybe I didn’t like it as much. I continued to smile, barely able to register everything else that was going on. This woman was crazy.

“Mom, seriously, give her a little bit of space.” Cam said, sitting beside me and taking my hand.

I squeezed it tightly, making it obvious that I was completely freaking out right now.

“Fine! How about I show her your baby pictures? Moms are supposed to do that, right?”

I nodded, suddenly eager. That would definitely make this whole thing a lot more exciting. And bearable.

“Great! Cameron, go get the album.” Emma ordered.

Cam shot me a look, showing his intense displeasure at this idea. Good. He’s the reason I’m suddenly getting close to having a panic attack.

“Ok, he’ll be gone for the next few minutes. And I have to ask you something really serious.” Emma said the second Cam was out of the room.

            I swallowed nervously. “Um, ok?”

“Taylor, Cameron really likes you. I’ve never seen him have a girlfriend, and I think you’re good for him.” Emma began, and I waited patiently for her to continue. I didn’t like where this seemed to be going. “But that also means he’ll get hurt. I really don’t want that for him. He’s a good guy, even with all the girl’s he slept with.” She frowned at this moment, but shrugged it off. “So if you don’t like him, please just break it off sooner rather than later.”

I thought about it for a moment. She was right, of course, but I couldn’t break it off. Not now. “I know, ma’am. I promise that if I stop liking him as much as I do now, I will break it off.” I said, honestly. “I really like your son, too.”

“Do you love him?” Emma asked, bluntly.

I shook my head. “No. I don’t usually fall in love, ma’am, and Cam knows this.”

Emma frowned. “So, why are you dating him?” She asked.

I tried to figure out how to phrase exactly why I said yes to him. “Because… because he’s different. I’ve had relationships before, but none of them have kept me this interested for this long. He’s managed to somehow get me to meet you, yet not freak out about the fact that it’s a big step too much.” I said, knowing that didn’t even cover half of what Cam was doing to me.

Emma smiled, a kind of knowing smile. “I see. Well, I really do like you Taylor. I just hope you can stick around a while. But please remember that I don’t want any grandkids for at least another five years, so tell him to keep his penis in a condom.”

I burst out laughing. That was, probably, the best way to tell someone to wrap up.

Cam walked in, holding a thick book. “What’s so funny?” He asked.

I laughed harder, and heard Emma joining in.

“Mom, what did you tell her?” Cam asked, sitting next to me again.

I shook my head, trying to stop laughing. “Your mom is awesome, Cam.” I choked out.

“I can tell…” He said, sounding unsure.

“I’m fine.” I said, breathing deeply. This wasn’t too bad right now. Emma seemed cool, and I felt more relaxed after that comment. The one I couldn’t think of without wanting to laugh.

Emma pulled the baby album towards her, and opened it to the first page. “That’s Cam’s birth certificate.” She said, pointing to the piece of paper.

I couldn’t help it. I started laughing again.

“Cam, you’re full name is Cameron Eve Riter?” I asked.

“Yeah…” He sighed, leaning back into the couch.

I felt his hand at the base of my back, and tried not to focus on it. He was doing this as payback, he had to be. That was one of those spots that made me just want to forget what I was doing and jump his bones, and he knew it.

Over the next twenty minutes, Emma took me through the first three years of Cam’s life, helping me make fun of him whenever he was naked in a picture, or whenever he looked particularly funny.

When the doorbell rang towards the end of the album, he jumped up. “I got it!” He shouted, running to the door.

I turned to Emma. “I don’t think he likes us laughing at his little ding-dong.” I joked. It turns out that was what he used to call his little buddy when he was younger. The reasoning was he’d once pulled on it and thought it was like when you pulled on a bell rope.

She chuckled. “Of course he doesn’t, but now I can laugh about it with someone else.”

Cameron walked in with two people, a man and a woman. “Tay, this is Matthew’s parents, Andrea and Matthew Sr.” Cam said, and I stood up, not as nervous this time. Hopefully they were a lot like Emma.

“Hi, I’m Taylor, Cameron’s girlfriend.” I said, holding my hand out for a shake.

“Matt, she’s so pretty!” Andrea said, and I was once again pulled into a hug. Ok, Emma and Andrea were exactly the same.

“Thank you, you’re rather pretty yourself.” I said, and meaning it. She had short, almost black hair, and eyes that seemed to change between grey and green.

“Aren’t you sweet? Matt, isn’t she sweet?” She said, as I pulled away from her grip.

Matt nodded. “So, you’re dating my semi-son? Congratulations on settling him down.” He said to me.

“Well, I’d say it’s a mutual thing.” I told him, laughing a little.

“Still. Say, what do you know about the Rain girl my son’s knocked up?” Matt asked.

I smiled a little. Rania was something I could talk about. Though I didn’t appreciate him calling her that girl Matthew knocked up. “Rania’s my best friend. She’s also one of the nicest girls in the universe.” I summarized for him.

“You don’t think she got intentionally pregnant, do you?” Matt asked.

I should have known this question was coming. “No, sir. I know Rania better than I know my own family, and I know that she would not have wanted this right now. Maybe in the future, but she wouldn’t try during senior year of high school.” I said.

“Would she consider an abortion then? Since she didn’t want to be pregnant in the first place?” Matt asked. I knew his questions were going to be rough, but I could handle them. I was doing this for my best friend; I could do anything.

“No. Definitely not. She may not have wanted it right now, but she will never kill something before it has a chance to live. She’s not that kind of girl. If she doesn’t think she can handle it, or if Matthew decides he doesn’t want to help, then she’ll do adoption. But since Rania’s strong, and Matthew’s a nice guy, I think they’ll be fine.”

Matt nodded. “She should be welcome then.” He looked at me quickly. “You seem good for Cameron. I approve.”

I smiled. I was officially in! “Thank you, sir.” I said, as the doorbell rang again.

Cam sighed, getting up again. “I don’t think anyone else is going to get it, are they?” He asked, rhetorically.

We all shook our heads at him as he answered the door. “Hey guys, come on in. Matthew, your parents are here already.” Cam said, and I could tell he was giving them some warning.

“Great, ok.” Rania said, and I was surprised to hear that she was nervous. I smiled politely at the Opal’s, and headed to talk to her quickly.

“Tay! How did it go?” Rania asked immediately.

I smiled at her. “Good, I’m liked apparently. Or, at least, approved of. Listen,” I lowered my voice a little, making hand gestures at Cam to make him talk to Matthew. I waited until he started talking to finish. “I met Matthew’s parents. They’re really nice, but Matthew’s dad asked me a couple of questions about you being pregnant. Now don’t worry, he said based on what I said you sound like a nice girl, but you have to be honest with your opinions, ok?” I said.

Rania nodded. “Got it. God, Tay, how did you do it?” She asked.

I smiled. “Emma is awesome. That definitely helped. Now go. Get it over and done with. The party is supposed to start in about twenty minutes.” I told her, and she nodded, nervously.

“Ray, babe, it will be fine.” Matthew said, taking her hand. “And no matter what they say, I love you, ok?”

She nodded. “Let’s go.”

I almost groaned. She still hadn’t said it yet? How had she not realized if she loved him or not by now?

“She didn’t say it back.” Cam whispered to me.

“I know.” I sighed, turning to him and giving him a hug. I have no idea why I did it, it just felt right.

“Are you ok?” He asked.

“Yeah, I guess the nerves wore me out already. I think I need some energy.” I said, half joking. I leant into his chest, only just now noticing a subtle smell. Like he’d sprayed on the right amount of Axe. “Are you wearing perfume?” I asked.

He laughed, and I felt his arms wrap around my waist. “No, it’s cologne. Much more manly.”

“Well, whatever it is, it smells really good.” I admitted, taking a deep breath. It smelled like… Spices. I think.

“Good. Because I made sure I used the amount the can told me to.” He joked.

I laughed lightly, then groaned. “We really should get back…”

He sighed. “I guess. Or we could start setting up?”

I backed away from him, though he was reluctant to let me go. “Let’s do that. I mean, I think I need to recover from the shock of impressing two different sets of parents.” I said.

Cam laughed. “You did amazing. I told you that you’d be fine.”

I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Let’s go help your mom out.” I took his hand, letting him lead me back to the living room as though I couldn’t remember how to get there.

It wasn’t like we’d had to wash the covers on the couch cushions one time or anything.

As we walked into the room, I wasn’t surprised to see Rania and Andrea were hitting it off, and Matt seemed to be ok with her. Everything was ok.

“Mom, we’re going to start setting up.” Cam said, and Emma almost choked on her drink.

“We still have to set up! I knew I was forgetting to do something!” She jumped up and headed for the attic – of course I didn’t know where this room was, and of course I had no idea there was a king sized mattress up there – stumbling slightly every now and again.

“Maybe we should go up there and bring the stuff down.” Cam suggested, and Emma agreed.

“Right. Think I can drag Matthew into helping?” She asked.

I nodded. “Tell him that if he doesn’t help, he doesn’t get any food.”

Emma laughed. “Deal.”

Cam carefully passed over just a couple of boxes, saying, “there’s not a lot for us to do. We’re just going to take down the ‘Merry Christmas’ signs, and replace them with ‘Happy New Year’.”

I carried the boxes down, making sure not to drop them. God only knows what Emma had in them.

Emma returned with Matthew, who smiled widely around at everyone. “Let’s get decorating! We only have ten minutes!” He smiled.

I looked at Cam, confused, but he had the same look I did. “Dude, are you ok?” Cam asked.

Matthew nodded. “My parents love Rania. I’m happy.” He said, grabbing one of the boxes. “Now let’s go! I’m in a party mood now.”

I started laughing when he began skipping. He was seriously on something, wasn’t he?

“Did you just see that?” I asked, making sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me. Was Matthew Opal really skipping and humming right now?

Cam nodded. “I’ll give him a masculinity shot in the morning.” He said, and I was about to reply, when Emma handed me a box.

“As cute as this is, get decorating! Chop, chop!” She waved her hands, heading for the living room again.

Ten minutes later, we were done, and people were starting to arrive. Nothing had really changed except the signs, and we’d moved all the mini trees to a spare room.

After standing beside Cam at the door for five minutes, and having said hello to over ten people, I finally asked, “how many people are supposed to be coming to this thing?”

Cam thought about it for a second, pausing only to introduce me to some “Uncle” Frank of his.

“I’d say around fifty.” He told me, and I almost choked on my own spit.

“Fifty? I have to meet fifty of you and your mom’s friends and family?” I asked, shocked.

He nodded. “Don’t worry, most of them will be too drunk to make any sense, so if you say anything they won’t care.”

I shrugged. “Fair enough.” I said, shaking hands with a Great Aunt Bertha. Jesus Christ his family was clichéd.

“Don’t say anything. We only have to stand around until around 9, 9:30, and then we can head upstairs.” Cam told me, quietly.

I smiled, gratefully. I’d done fine with the parents,  but other members, I’d do the proper introductions when I was ready. If me and Cam lasted, that is.

What seemed like an hour later, the last person finally walked in.

“Ready to party now?” Cam asked.

I nodded. “Hell yes! Wait, I’m not drinking, am I?” I asked, slightly disappointed.

“Do you really think I’d do that? I have some upstairs, but you have to get through this part first.” Cam told me.

I nodded. “Deal.”

Surprisingly, the next two hours were… awesome. Emma bought out a piñata around 9, and even I tried it. I’d never used one before, but I learned that it was really fun. And also, hitting a guy in the balls with a baseball bat does actually happen in reality. Who knew?

It took a few minutes, but eventually someone hit it, and candy exploded everywhere. I grabbed a couple of chocolate pieces, stepping away to let a little three year old take some. Poor kid would be out by midnight, so it was ok.

I started laughing when the kid began trying to wrestle the candy away from his dad, who was currently refusing to let anyone near it. The kid, Ash, as punishment decided to start bawling at the top of his lungs. I could barely breathe when the dad hugged Ash, apologizing profusely, and ended up on the floor with Ash grabbing all the candy his little arms could grab.

“Ready to go upstairs yet?” Cam asked, and I nodded.

“Just us, or do you want to get Rania and Matthew too?” I asked.

“If we can find them, sure. Otherwise, I’m going to keep you very busy for the next few hours.” He winked, and I slapped his stomach lightly. “Ow.” He joked, making me roll my eyes.

It didn’t take us long to find our best friends, and before we knew it, we were locked in Cam’s room.

“Nice room.” Rania commented, and I realized that Cam was the only one who knew I’d been up here.

“Yeah, it’s cool.” I said, faking interest as I looked around. It wasn’t like I knew he had a camera under his bed, or that there was actually a picture of us in the middle draw of his bedside cabinet.

“So what do you guys want to do?” Matthew asked.

We looked around. “We could play Spin the Bottle?” Cam suggested, winking at
