I left my father's house after the blow up with my sister. My head was pounding and the only cure was alcohol. Hey, no one ever accused me of being smart. I mean, right? That's what everyone thinks, I'm a dumbass.

LJ, Jordy, Andrew, and I all pregamed at their bachelor pad before hitting the clubs one night. It was a Saturday.

"Dude, this is just like old times!" Andrew cheered.

"I missed you, boy!" LJ exclaimed, kissing the side of my head. I pushed off of him, scrunching my face under the feeling of his warm lips.

"Yeah, missed you, man," Jordy spoke up. I was shocked to know he did.

I stopped on Jordy and went "huh."

"What," he asked, taking a sip of his beer while the rest of us drank dark liquor.

"That's the first, like, positive thing you said about me in a while, bro." I was drunk and starting to talk dumb but they were on the same level so we understood each other.

"You're still my bro, I just don't agree with everything you do — unlike LJ," Jordy explained and I nodded with a frowned mouth.

LJ clung onto me and yelled in Jordy's face. "Hey! This man right here is a fucking LEGEND. I owe him everything." L dropped to his knees and started worshiping me literally. I laughed and told him to get up and stop being dumb.

"No, s-seriously," a drunk LJ burped. He continued. "Before, I couldn't get any girls. Then this motherfucker comes along, and now look at me! I get pussy every. day. of. the. week." Andrew, high, hyped LJ up.

Jordy just shook his head and I couldn't help but feel the same way inside.

It's like everything stopped and I sobered up for a second. "Don't you think, I dunno... that shit's kind of lame? I mean, don't you wanna settle down one day, man?"

There was a moment of silence before LJ busted out laughing in my face. "Settle down?! Drew, do you hear this guy? Settle down?! I'm just getting' started, brotha!"

With his eyes low, Andrew just laughed with LJ.
Meanwhile, Jordy finished his beer and put it on the countertop. "I hear you, man. Don't listen to those two, they're insecure and have little dicks. I'm proud of you for coming around. Aye, have you thought about you're gonna get Brea back?"

I swatted Jordy's hand off of my shoulder and curled my face. "Man, I don't even want to think about that. Where's that bottle of Crown?"

We get to the club of LJ's choice - a strip club. Of course.

"Get ya ones out, boys!" LJ sang. His eyes lit up like a kid in the candy store.

"How you doin'?" He asked a dancer as she walked past the line.
She circled back and looked him up and down twice. Liking what she saw, I assume, she smirked and signaled him to come over. The bouncer opened the rope and let him through but stopped Jordy.

"They're with me," the stripper let the guard know easily.

He huffed and let us in anyway. I walked past him, stone-faced and he shook his head with nothing to say.

Inside, we're greeted with three more dancers. Two white girls, one tall and thick — built like a stallion — and the other girl was very skinny with heavy eye makeup. A blonde came over to me and I swore, in that low light, she looked just like Brea.

"Psst," LJ whispered to the group. "Y'all want X?"

Drew went "Hell yeah" while Jordy grew worried and hurriedly declined the drug, warning him to put that shit away but the lightskin girl on L's arm took him up on that offer.

"YO," I hollered for LJ over the raving music.

"Sup?" He leaned in to hear me talk.

"Don't get yourself in some shit tonight, bro," I warned him sternly.

He laughed at me. "What're you, my pops? I can handle myself... and all these fine ladies. Be cool."

I just shook my head and watched him trail off with two girls on his arms now.

Dick.

I hate when he gets like that. He doesn't know who he is and let's his inner demons out. He's not a good guy when he's drunk and the thing is, he can never hold his own. We shouldn't have to babysit a grown man so none of us ever did. Shit, he always seemed to manage. I stopped playing caregiver after college.
It's whatever though because he won't remember shit in the morning, I figured.

"Bro, you gotta relax. Here, take a drink — this one's on me — and chill. You're in a strip club, get a dance or something. These girls are here to serve you! I heard they even go all the way for the right price, if you know what I mean," Drew confided in me with a perverted look on his face. I took the drink and swallowed it with ease, just trying to "chill" as he wished.

Drew, with his arm around my shoulder, whispered in my ear, trying to tell me which girl to pick and how to "loosen up."

"Aye!" Andrew called out after a blonde girl. "I know that's your type," he whispered to me, chuckling in my ear. When the girl didn't turn, Drew whistled at her so loud the whole club could hear. She came back with an attitude and I didn't blame her, I was only embarrassed to be with these guys.

"I'm not going to dance for your rude ass," she huffed and started to walk away but Drew grabbed the fringe on her skirt.

"Hey now, be easy. You won't dance with me, how 'bout a dance for my guy here? He just got his heart broken," Andrew told her, pouting.

She instantly felt bad for me and pouted, too.

I burned a hole into Andrew with my cold stare. A dance isn't something I wanted, in fact, the whole atmosphere was starting to turn me off. I just wanted to leave, for real.

"He doesn't look like he wants a dance," she snarled. And she was right, I didn't.

"I don't," I growled, sitting down under them.

Instead of being offended, she looked at me with hope and said "I'll be back for you later." Like she was oddly into the fact that I didn't want her.

As she walked off, Drew smacked her ass and chuckled like an actual middle schooler.

"Dude!" I stood up to reprimand him but the guard by the stage saw and threatened him instead. Intimidated, Andrew threw his hands in the air innocently and silently vowed to behave from then on.

"Want a dance," another entertainer asked Andrew. She stood in her stilettos and a two piece that left very little to the imagination.

Drew brought her body close to his and put a twenty dollar bill down her bra. They smirked in each other's faces. "Take me to your champagne room," he insisted, waving more money in her entranced face.

My face curled and I just sighed, sitting back in my seat.

Jordy finally came back to me after he was in a private room, as well. He sat beside me with this dumbfounded smirk and asked if I was gonna finish my drink. I just silently laughed and told him to go for it.

Thirsty, or just wanting to get fucked up, he downed what was once my alcoholic beverage and hissed when it trickled down his throat.

Since we were right in front of the stage and it wasn't a large crowd, we especially had to spend money or get kicked out. And while I wanted to go anyway, I didn't want to be a "party pooper" since the guys were enjoying themselves.

"You good," asked Jordy.

I crumbled a single dollar bill and chucked it on the stage.

A sigh left my dry mouth. "Yeah, I'm good. I'm just thinkin'."

"About what, ese?"

I tossed my head back and stretched out in the seat. When my eyes opened again, I turned my head to the right to see Jordy staring back at me.

Laughing it off, I said "you think I'm insecure?"

But before he could answer, there was a commotion. LJ was thrown out of the club, along with the stripper. Jordy and I instinctively followed and pulled Drew out of the private room on the way.

"And don't come back!" The big, black guard shouted. People who stood outside smoking went "Ooh!"

LJ just laughed, not even able to explain what the fuck happened. Jordy shook his head and Andrew laughed, too.

"Idiots," I hissed, pacing.

"Wanna go back to my place," LJ asked the dancer. To my surprise, she agreed even after all of that. Seeing girls with no self-respect made my blood boil. My face curled at her. The whole time we walked, I watched her and LJ interact, judging them the whole time.

Jordy looked at me confused and I failed my arms. "Look, I don't even think I want to know what happened. Get them home safe. Please," I ordered suddenly.

"You're not coming," asked Jordy. I shook my head no.

"Ima go see someone," I let him know as I walked off in the other direction.

"Oh nah, where he going?" LJ yelled. From the cold night, I could see his breath when he talked.

It was late. The sky was purple but the empty sidewalks looked like they were slapped with a sepia filter from the dim street lamps.

"To see somebody, he said," Jordy answered, pushing LJ's drunk body down the sidewalk.

"Oh, he tryna go get his dick wet, too!" I turned after hearing his comments. The group snickered, except for Jordy who didn't find L's antics funny at that point.

"Go home, bro," I told LJ, my jaw clenched.

"No, no. Where you going, which girl you going to see? Leila? Hm? Ah, must be. I thought you loved Brea? Damn you move on quick, you are the ultimate fuckboy. Respect." LJ went on.

"No, L, you're the fuckboy," Jordy came in to my defense.

"And what're you, his little lapdog? Just the other day you were all 'he doesn't deserve Brea, I'm glad he's broken up about it'."

My eyes darted back and forth from them both, unsure of what — who — to believe now.

"Yo, L, let's just get out of here," Andrew tried to tell LJ.

I didn't know what to think anymore. Sure we were all drunk but that had to be the truth, right? Why would they make that up? Sad to find out my friends were talking shit about me but I was damn glad they showed their true colors when they did. It was time for a change - even if that change meant cutting off close "friends."

"You know what, I'm glad he's single, too," LJ admitted.

Andrew chuckled, trying to be optimistic now. "Why, because you got your boy back?"

"Nah," LJ spoke up. "So I can finally get my turn with fine ass Brea-"

I didn't even let him finish her whole name before I lunged right at him. We wrestled but not for long before the boys broke us up.

Once we were separated, I just let LJ talk his shit.

"I had my chance before, too, I should've took it. Mm, and I know she a freak. Thanks for getting her ready for me. You think she can take a big, black cock?" He laughed. I balled my fists but Andrew and Jordy were firmly pushing me back. LJ went on. "Yeah, she looks like she can. And Gray, when I fuck her, I'm going to ask who's it is, you think she'll say you or me? I can hear her sexy ass screaming my name now. Don't worry — since you moved on — Imma fuck her so good, she won't even think about you anymore."

Angry as I was, I effortlessly forced Andrew and Jordy out of my way and connected my right fist with LJ's temple. His body dropped to the sidewalk and the dancer he escorted screamed bloody murder.

I hovered over his body until he moved and made a sound. As long as he was alive, that's all I cared about so I walked off.

"FUCK YOU, GRAY!" I heard him call out. "FUCK YOU!"
