" Thank you. "

   " It wasn't any trouble. "

The nurse left my room after giving me my lunch. I started eating when my room door opened. I looked up and Light walked inside with his school bag hanging off of his shoulder.

   " Hey, Light. "

   " Hey, Y/n how are you feeling? "

   " I'm doing fine. They said I should be released later in the day. "

   " That's great! I'm glad you're getting released. "

   " Thank you. Let me finish eating and then we'll talk. "

He nodded his head and took a seat beside the bed. He looked worried but at the same time calm. I finished and set my tray aside and looked towards Light.

   " So, I'll listen to your explanation. "

   " Okay. First, has Ryuzaki been here yet? "

   " No. "

   " Okay. First I need you to touch this. "

He held up a piece of paper. It was blank and looked like it was torn out of a notebook.

   " Okay. "

I took the paper and held it. Nothing really happened. Nothing changed at all.

   " LIght why did I have to-Ahhhh-"

Light covered my mouth to stop me from screaming. Standing beside Light was a tall monster. She didn't move or make a sound.

   " W-Who are you? "

   " My name is Rem. I'm a shinigami. "

   " So...So shinigami really do exist? "

   " Yes. We exist. "

   " Light? "

   " After you passed out we found a Death note in Higuchi's bag and when we touched Rem, appeared. The Task Force has taken the Death note back to headquarters. "

   " Okay. How does this help explain yourself? "

   " Because I am Kira. "

   ' What? '

   " Light, I don't understand. Higuchi was Kira-"

   ' It makes sense. That's why Kira's killing changed from criminals to people involved in a business. But, this can't be. Ryuzaki's suspicion was right but how did Light manage to kill everybody.  '

   " I see you're still confused. Please let me keep talking. "

Slowly I nodded and he put the paper back in his pants pocket.

   " A long time ago back in high school, I found a notebook called a Death Note. I picked it up and saw a shinigami named Ryuk. After we met I wrote a name down in the death note which he dropped. After 40 seconds the man whose name I wrote died after being killed by a truck. "

   ' Takuo Shibuimaru. '

   " After that, I started killing more and more criminals. I even killed those two bullies that bullied you. "

   ' Horie and Rai. '

   " I wanted to create a perfect world where it wasn't rotting and the criminals that walked the earth would be dead and I would rule the new world as a God. Then 'L' got involved. He was able to figure out the region I was in and that I could kill without being in the same room as him but only knowing his name. "

   ' That's why he was so mad that day when the TV turned on while we were studying. '

   " After that, I joined the Task Force and Misa came into the picture. She is the second Kira. She had Rem's Death note and she visited me that same night you saw us hugging. Rem has said she would kill me if I hurt Misa so I kept her safe and allowed her to think we are dating. So we never really were dating but I had to make her happy so Rem didn't kill me. "

Every time he said Rem he looked over at her.

   " Then when I admitted I was Kira so Ryuzaki would take me into custody and I gave up ownership of the Death Note. So Ryuk took his notebook back and I lost all memory that I ever had it. Before that, I saved a piece of it in my watch and touched Rem's Notebook as well. I let my memory get wiped along with Misa. Later when Higuchi was caught I touched Rem's notebook and my memory returned to me and I killed Higuchi. "

   " How was Misa killing people without knowing their name? "

   " She had something called the shinigami eyes. They allowed a person to see the name and life span of a person if they gave a shinigami half of their life span. Misa traded in half her span for the eyes. "

   " Light..."

   ' This makes sense. All the dots are connecting. That's how Kira was able to kill and all of Ryuzaki's assumptions were correct. Light Yagami is Kira. '

I starred at the wall for a bit and remembered all the assumptions that Ryuzaki said. The dots connected and it all made sense. I felt something warm grab my hand and I looked up at Light. He was holding my hand gently. His eyes held softness.

   " I didn't cheat on you on purpose. It was only to keep Misa happy so Rem didn't kill me. I love you and only you Y/n. Misa isn't anything but a pawn. "

By this time Rem left.

   " Light..."

   ' What do I say to this? I should have recorded this conversation, but I'm just so shocked. What the hell. '

   " Y/n, are you okay? "

   " I just.......What do I even say to that? "

   " Say, you'll join me. "

   " W-What? "

   " Y/n I love you and I want you to be the goddess of the new world and rule beside me. Say, you'll join me and we can rule the new world together. "

   " B-But-"

   " I know it's a lot to take in but I need an answer. "

His fingers entangled themselves in mine. My face reddened immediately.

   ' Don't tell me my feelings for Light are back. '

   " Y/n are you awake? "

Ryuzaki opened the door and entered the room. He looked between Light and me, then he looked down at our connected hands.

   ' Oh no. This can't be good. '
