I felt something warm in my hand. It was someone else's hand and it was clutching mine tight. I opened my eyes slowly and I looked at my hand. I saw pale fingers laced with mine and I knew who was holding my hand because of their skin tone.

   " Ryuzaki why am I in the hospital? "

   " You were shot. Higuchi shot you in the arm at the Sakura TV station. But you already knew that, didn't you? "

   " Yeah. Sorry, I didn't want to hinder everything that was going on. "

   " But you got shot. "

   " I understand and I apologize but we were so close I couldn't let-"

   " You were shot! "

I shut my mouth as soon as he yelled. I shrunk back into the pillow and I looked at my heart monitor and my heart rate picked up a little. His grip on my hand got tighter and it hurt a little bit.

   " Y/n you were shot! When Matsuda saw you, you had passed out and lost a lot of blood. You should have informed someone that you were injured. "

   " I didn't want to hinder what was going on. We had Higuchi and I didn't want anyone to worry about me because of how close we were to catching him. "

   " I don't care. You had me so worried! I've never been so worried in my life. When Matsuda told me what happened I ran to the car and you laid limp. I held you until the ambulance came. I thought you were going to die because of how much blood you lost.  I know you are strong but it worried me. "

   " Ryuzaki I put my life on this investigation from the very beginning. I knew what I was getting into. "

   " Y/n..."

   " Ryuzaki I know we are close but if I were to die you can't just worry about me. You have the rest of the task force to worry about. You are the most important person in this investigation so you have to stay alive Ryuzaki and not worry about m-"

I was silenced when he pulled me towards him by my hand. His other hand went to the side of my face and he connected our lips. His lips were soft. My eyes were open and wide from the shock. My face got red very quickly. He pulled back a little bit and looked me in the eyes with his normal blank expression. The only difference between now and every day is his eyes. They're soft and gentle.

   " Y/n you are the most important person to me besides Watari. The only difference is that Watari is a father to me while you are more romantically important. I always worry about you because I love you. "

   " What's going on here? "

Light walked into the room and I could tell he was shocked by the small distance between Ryuzaki and I. Ryuzaki didn't pull away and I was too shocked to do so.

   " I think I should be because Y/n is my best friend. "

   " You're wrong their Light it's only your business if we allow it to be your business and I'm not going to allow it to be. "

Light glared at Ryuzaki, but Ryuzaki didn't care. He turned back towards you and leaned down to you. He held your chin gently.

   " Please get some rest and get better. It's lonely without you in the building. Watari misses you as well. Get better quickly, please my love. " he said softly.

He kissed my cheek and stuffed his hands into his pockets. He walked past Light and left the room. I touched my lips and my cheek where he kissed me. Light walked to the side of my bed and held my wrist gently.

   " Did he actually kiss you and confess? "

   " Yes, he did. "

   " That ass I'm going to kill him. "

   " Light, you shouldn't make accusations like that. "

   " Y/n, understand that-"

   " I understand we just caught someone who killed a lot of people and shot me, Light. Don't make accusations even if you don't mean me-"

   " I said it because I love you and I don't like him touching you! "

His face went beet red instantly and he looked away from me.

   " L-Light. Y-You can't. "

   " Why not? "

   " You and Misa are together Light. I'm not a homewrecker and the last time we dated you cheated with Misa. "

   " Y/n..."

   " Please don't say those things when I know you don't mean them. You're only hurting me more so please don't. We are best friends nothing more. "

   " Y/n...Let me explai-"

   " No, I don't want to hear an explanation. Please just go. "

   " I'll explain everything to you in time. Please, I'll come back tomorrow and I'll explain everything. "

   " Fine. Please go now. I need to rest. "

Light nodded his head and walked out of the room. He left the room and I looked out of the room at the city. I leaned against the headrest and looked out into the starry night.
